Good morning and happy Monday, friends!
Can you believe Christmas is THIS week!?! Holy cow. Where did December go?! It totally flew, right? But, of course, I’m looking forward to spending the day with family and watching Quinn open his presents. Yayyyyyy! We only bought him a few things, but I know he will lovvvveee all of them!
So we had a nice weekend over here– nothing too exciting to report, but we did a number of fun festive holiday activities (viaĀ 24 Days of Togetherness) and very much enjoyed our time together. That said, here are some favorites from the weekend!
Baking holiday cookies! We used prepackaged refrigeratedĀ vanilla sugar cookieĀ dough from Immaculate, and it was epic.Ā It’s made with wholesome, non-GMO ingredients and tastes sooooo good! Our cookies turned outĀ so soft and chewy!
Checking out Nate Berkus’s holiday collection at Target. I ended up buying this for our houseĀ and seriously considered buying a set of these. I know Quinn would have loved them!Ā Maybe I should go back? You can never have enough holiday decorations, right?
Making Christmas pancakes with my boys! We had so much fun!
Stumbling upon this video for aĀ Cinnamon Roll French Toast Bake. IĀ plan to make it for Christmas morning with my family! Ommmggggggg! It’s going to be so delicious!
Visiting Bass Pro Shop with Quinn! There was so much to see! He absolutely loved it!
Being silly at dinner. We went out to dinner after visiting Bass Pro Shop and we had such a fun time together, playing games and laughing a lot!
Father-son selfies. I left my phone for 5 minutes during dinner! And there’s actually about a dozen variations of the photo below on my iPhone. Haha!
Salmon. I go through phases with salmon. Sometimes I love it; sometimes it’s too fishy for me. Right now, I’m in a salmon-loving phase!
Quinn’s new winter coat (via thredUP). I still can’t believe he outgrew his old one. He definitely hit the 18-monthĀ growth spurt recently!
Speaking of winter coats… IĀ wore mineĀ for the first time this season. It finally feels like winterĀ here! (Man, I hope I’m ready. I’m still scarred after last year.)
This 45-minute treadmill workout. It’s been my favorite for years, and I still love doingĀ it. (I actually shared it on CNC just 2 weeks after starting the blog!) I did this workoutĀ at the gym yesterday and then ran another 3 miles for a total of 8! Boom.
This sloth tea infuser. Yep, that’s right. Sloth. There’s just something insanely adorable about them, right?
Quinn’s laugh. We laughed a whole lot this weekend. Hearing my little monkeyĀ crack up makes my heart so happy!
Question of the Day
Your turn! Name a favorite from your weekend!Ā

Climbing up the Kokohead hill in O’Ahu, Hawaii! It was strenuous and made a good workout, plus the views were gorgeous.
It looks like you such a great weekend! The photos are all so cute š
Lots of family fun – my favourite kind of weekend too š .
I’m on an all round fish kick of late! Just discovered new Irish caught tuna which is amazing! Loving salmon too! He’ll be flipping his own pancakes in no time! Such a little cutie!
Quinn’s expressions are adorable! He’s definitely looking a little more grown up these days.
I miss all of the awesome treadmill interval plans that you used to share! Total blast from the past! This weekend we had two work parties, two friend holiday parties and one family Christmas. To say we’re exhausted would be an understatement- but we had a blast!
Plain ol’ sugar cookies are the best! We went to a holiday party this weekend and William went to a birthday party!
Can you believe its going to be 60 on Christmas Day though? May need to take out the spring jackets for a few days, Merry Christmas to us New Englanders!
Favorite part of the weekend was spending time with my hubs and little guy (and the dog!) š
And now I have to go back to the grocery store so we can make the cinnamon roll french toast on Christmas day! I was going to do pancakes but I think this would be a bigger hit!
You don’t have a copy of that work out for treadmills that work their way down in minutes do you? I know I could figure it but if you had it already done even better!
Totally made those cookies and put green/red sprinkles on them a couple of weeks ago! My husband really really really likes the Pillsbury with the shape in the middle as his holiday tradition but I bought these and he loved them, he said they were BETTER than the Pillsbury. WIN! Sounds like you guys are having an Arizona Christmas…. enjoy!
Looks like you guys had a really fun weekend!! It is going to be 70 degrees today in Dallas, where I live! Does not feel like Christmas at all… but I am not mad about it!
Taking walks with the fam!
I am bummed it’s going to be 80 degrees here for Christmas š
So much cuteness! Two favorites from the weekend: being done with finals and coming home + cooking in the kitchen again!
Quinn has the best expressions!!!
I feel the same way about salmon… If it’s not super fresh, the fishy smell turns me off. Trout, surprisingly, is a lot less fishy and tastes like a mild salmon. I started eating it after it was the freshest option for me here in Colorado. I’d highly recommend it!
I’ll have to try that next time I see it on the menu!
I bought the same runner and just love it! Glad to hear you share in the impulse Target purchases…It’s like they know me! š
Wishing you and your family a very merry holiday season, Tina!
Thanks! You too!!
Quinn’s expressions absolutely crack me up! He is just adorable!
Wow, those cookies look delicious! I love xmas cookies! My favorite part of the weekend was running 20 miles (the feeling after the run of course!), and seeing close friends at a holiday party, which lasted until the wee hours of the morning. Happy xmas week!

<3 so lovely!
SO MANY FAVORITES from this weekend š Hosting our annual holiday cocktail party for our closest friends was definitely right up there. So fun to get all dressed up and cook tasty food and make amazing cocktails and have a wonderful time with favorite people.
Bass Pro is a relatively new store for us in Canada – the first one near me opened a few years ago. It’s kind of fun going to check out the fish (even though I’m an adult!)
Quinn looks pretty enthused by those pancakes! I like his excitement for life! Seems like he is such a fun kid. š
I go through salmon phases too. Oh.. favorite from this weekend was Oreo Cookie Cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory, it’s SO good! š
Love your blog, I am a new reader. I would love to try the treadmill workout but when I tried to print the page you linked to, it had moved around (the table that is). Do you have one that is easily printed? Sorry to be a pain, but it looks fantastic! Thanks so much!
I can’t get over how big Quinn is getting! Isn’t it amazing seeing the holidays through their eyes?
My favorite from the weekend was watching my mom play with my daughter. I love how creative my daughter gets when they are together and how my mom just goes along with it all!
