Good morning and happy Monday!

I have quite the week ahead of me. Mal and I are saying goodbye to our temporary home and we’re finally moving into our new apartment. Yay! ๐Ÿ˜€ Of course, I’m looking forward to having my life back in order, but I’m really excited to see our new apartment for the first time! Yep, that’s right, I haven’t even seen the apartment yet! Mal saw it with the realtor when I was at work, so I’ve only seen photos. Mal said I would love it, so I’m trusting his judgement!

The week’s moving festivities started Sunday morning with a trip to my in-law’s storage unit. How sketchy does this place look?!? Eek! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

It was pretty creepy inside too, but Mal’s parents kindly let us store our loveseat there (for free!) for 2.5 years, so I really shouldn’t complain!

Our old apartment was too small to fit our couch’s matching loveseat, so it’s been sitting in storage since we moved from our first apartment. Our new apartment is much bigger, so we’ll be rockin’ both pieces in our living room!

While we moved the loveseat, Mr. Murphy waited patiently in the car. He’s so cute! ๐Ÿ˜€

Breakfast

Marie and I took an hour-long yoga class this morning, so I prepared my breakfast post last night.

Monday’s breakfast is pomegranate-flavored Chobani with pumpkin-flavored granola and a banana. I’m sure I’ll grab an iced coffee too! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  1. 1. I was born here and have lived my whole life at this address and my husband and I are finally thinking of selling and getting something else but I doubt that will ACTUALLY happen

  2. It’s definitely nice to have your own space! We’re living with my parents at the moment and we can’t wait until our house is finished.

    I have lived in 9 houses/apartments in 3 cities!!

  3. I moved a lot when I was younger… so since I was 14 I’ve lived in 9 places as well! And it’s moving week for me, too… I should be here for a year. It’s been a while since I’ve been in one place that long! Can’t wait!

  4. I have lived in 4 different houses and 3 different dorms during college….and we plan on moving again as soon as we sell our house and get our new one built! (But that will be our “forever” home…)

  5. If dorm rooms count then I’ve lived in 9 different locations throughout my life and am currently on number 10 in Japan. Wow! I’ve never thought about that before!

  6. ahh moving, I hate moving and packing! This is why we’re happy we’re closing on our house THIS Friday! No more moving for us!

We rented a townhouse for 9 months. Before that we rented a room in our friends house for 6 months. Before that we rented an apartment for 2 years. oy – thats ALOT of moving in the past 1.5years!!!!! We moved out of our rented townhouse 2 weeks ago..and now we’re moving again!

  7. We moved around a lot when I was growing up, and I’ve moved a lot as an adult: 12 houses/apartments and 3 dorms in 6 countries, 3 states, and DC, in 28 years. And I’m actually in the process of boxing everything up again and putting it into storage (I’m moving to Africa for dissertation research), so I sympathize. Moving is a pain!! But welcome to your new apartment ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Can’t wait for the tour of the new apartment. I’ve only live two places: My parents’ house and my apartment now. I love my apartment so instead of moving from the apartment elsewhere, I’d rather just move the apartment around. lol

  9. We moved a lot when I was little, and I’ve moved a lot the last few years. I’ve lived in more apartments and houses than I can count! Just in the last 3 years, I’ve lived in 5 different apartments in 4 different towns, 3 different states! Yikes.

    Good luck with your move!

  10. Good luck moving, it is so stressful! I moved from my parents house that I lived in my whole life to college. I lived somewhere different all 4 years, and since then have lived in 7 different places. It’s exhausting!

  11. I have lived SOOOO many places! Two different college dorm rooms, a staff house at a ski lodge in Vermont, 5 apartments, and now I own my own home. This list doesn’t include the time I spent on the road living in tents and hotel rooms! I’ve been settled in one house for three and a half years, though, and I love it ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Eeek Creep sketchy places! But aren’t all storage facilities creepy. Maybe I’ve seen too many movies where the bad guys chase the good guys in them and start shooting.

Anyway… I’ve lived far to many places to count really. I was a military child so we moved a bunch and as an adult I’ve lived in 6 or so places in the last 5 years. I move a lot for my job so I’m used to it.

  13. Wow! That is super trust! I am sure you will love it.
Over the course of my life I have lived in NJ, Amhest, MA, Galway, Ireland, and now Boston. But between Amherst and Boston, I have lived in many many places before we bought our condo!

  14. Congrats! It’s going to be an exciting week. Not including my college dorms, I’ve lived in five different houses/apartments. I only moved once with my parents growing up and since college I’ve moved to three different apartments. My last move was from one apartment to another in the same building. Sounds easy but it was actually very annoying! Good luck with your move!

  15. I’ve moved 12 times in the past 6 years! Between college dorms, apartments on campus, 2 apartments after getting married and now 2 stops at my parents and my-laws! I’m now looking for a house to make move #13, but hopefull this one is more permanent!
Good luck with your move, love Murphy!

  16. I’ve only lived in one house my entire life – same room and all! Good luck moving everything! I’m sure you’ll love the place and I can’t wait to see pictures!!

  17. Good luck with the movie! How exciting!

I have lived in the same general are, but in 8 different houses/apartments.

  18. If I count from when I was kid I am at about 12 different places, sometimes in the same town, sometimes in a nearby town and the 6+ hour move from where I grew up to go to college.

You are VERY trusting to move into a place that you have only seen pictures of, I am sure its awesome but I would be incredibly nervous about that one.

  19. Yay for the new apartment! Moving is stressful, but it feels SO GOOD to be all settled in your new place. Setting it up is half the fun, in my opinion!

I had two houses growing up, since my parents were divorced, but neither of them moved until after I went to college. After college, I lived in my husband’s (then boyfriend’s) apartment for a few months, and then we bought a house a moved in there together. So I’ve really only ever lived in three houses, 2 cities. I am a helpless redecorator; I don’t think I could rent for very long without feeling frustrated that I couldn’t change certain things because I didn’t own it.

  20. since i moved to portland (almost exactly two years ago) i have lived:
    on a friends floor
in a big 5 bedroom house (with roommates)
in a 3 bedroom duplex (with roommates)
and currently in another duplex (with my fiance)
we’re in the process of buying a house and i’m soo soo excited because then we won’t MOVE anymore!

  21. Ok. From birth, I have lived in 8 placed, then I moved out on my own and moved… 15 times. My GAWD! That included the 3 times I moved back in with my ‘rents! I will move once more hopefully. We own our home now, but want a new place. That, Hopefully, will be the last time I move ev-ah!

  22. I’ve lived too many places to count! And I’ve had my share of sketchy storage units but that one def. looks horror movie style! We have been in our current house a year and I hope to be here for a nice long time!
Good luck with the move…it is always stressful but exciting too!

  23. Oh lordy, I have lived a ton of places. Let’s see… 1, 2, 3 … 12, 13, 14! In my whole life! Military brat, here! Since I left home at 17, I’ve lived in 5, in 7 years. That’s a lot of moving!

  24. Not too many places but they’ve run the gamut… starting in Alaska… eventually getting to Texas after Washington and California and then re-settling in California. Im ready to move again!

  25. that’s so exciting about moving this week!

I’ve only lived in 2 houses – my parents and the one I’m in now with my husband. I guess I could count my dorm rooms at college, but I don’t really count them as places that I lived.

  26. OH wow, jsut since I have moved to Washington I have lived in just about every Seattle suburb….Kirkland, Bellevue, Renton, Seattle (at TWO different addresses), and now Mill Creek….and that’s only since 2005!

  27. I moved several time in my 20’s, and at 30, moved back to an apartment in Boston. We had hoped to buy a house, but we moved so quickly, there was no time to find the right place. Next spring will hopefully be our last move for the forseeable future when we buy our first house!

Congratulations to you and Mal…and Murphy!

  28. Since I’ve been out of college, I’ve lived in 3 different places… about to be 4 though, as we’re looking to buy! Before and in college, my family moved around A LOT – we lived in 10 different homes since my birth, in three different countries (US, Scotland, and Australia)…

I’m actually kind of ready to settle in to one place for a while!

  29. Lived in either Richmond or Harrisonburg (JMU!) all my life – but have moved 4 times around town since graduating college in 2004 – finally into a house of my very own though so hoping to stay for a while ๐Ÿ™‚ !

  30. This is so exciting! and I give you mad props for agreeing to move even if you haven’t seen the place, you must really trust your guy. I am one of those incredibly anal A-type chicks who needs to make sure everything is PERFECT. aka, I’m lame ๐Ÿ™‚ Good luck with the big move, Tina!

  31. I bet you can’t wait to be settled! Can’t wait to see the new place!
I was born in St. Louis MO, lived in Chicago as a toddler, then lived in central IL for all of my schooling years-through HS. Then moved to Utah to go to college. Found a job and hubs so I am still here:)
