Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots β€˜N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Good morning and happy Monday!

I have quite the week ahead of me. Mal and I are saying goodbye to our temporary home and we’re finally moving into our new apartment. Yay! πŸ˜€ Of course, I’m looking forward to having my life back in order, but I’m really excited to see our new apartment for the first time! Yep, that’s right, I haven’t even seen the apartment yet! Mal saw it with the realtor when I was at work, so I’ve only seen photos. Mal said I would love it, so I’m trusting his judgement!

The week’s moving festivities started Sunday morning with a trip to my in-law’s storage unit. How sketchy does this place look?!? Eek! 😯

It was pretty creepy inside too, but Mal’s parents kindly let us store our loveseat there (for free!) for 2.5 years, so I really shouldn’t complain!

Our old apartment was too small to fit our couch’s matching loveseat, so it’s been sitting in storage since we moved from our first apartment. Our new apartment is much bigger, so we’ll be rockin’ both pieces in our living room!

While we moved the loveseat, Mr. Murphy waited patiently in the car. He’s so cute! πŸ˜€

Marie and I took an hour-long yoga class this morning, so I prepared my breakfast post last night.

Monday’s breakfast is pomegranate-flavored Chobani with pumpkin-flavored granola and a banana. I’m sure I’ll grab an iced coffee too! πŸ˜‰

Question of the Day

How many different places have you lived?

  1. I still cannot find the pomengranate chobani – very jealous!
I have lived in 7 places (counting college as 1) – most of those in the last 10 years. I lived in the same house growing up until my parents moved when I was 20.

  2. I’m really curious how you find the appartment!
This is the 4th house and 3rd city I live in (not counting 3 months abroad)!

  3. For someone who grew up in a VERY stable home (seriously–I lived in just two different places between birth and my college years), I sure picked a career (working in Res Life/higher education) that would guarantee LOTS of moving! Since graduating college, I’ve lived in 9 different apartments in just 15 years! I’m the higher ed version of an Army Brat!

  4. since i left for college in 2001 i have moved…7 times! and we’re moving again this summer but hopefully we’ll stay a while. i have to admit, i’m a bit addicted to moving and I get restless if I spend too much time in one city.

i hope you do a video tour of the new place!

  5. Since I left for college in 1995 and I have moved about 6 or 7 times. I’ve been in my current home for a little over three years and that’s the longest I’ve stayed anywhere since living with my parents before college.

Can’t wait to see the new digs!!

  6. Hooray for moving time! I didn’t get to see either of our apartments until we moved in either, yikes. But it worked out so far πŸ˜‰

I have lived in two places with my husband and with my parents, I lived 4 or 5. But only in two cities, both in the same state!

  7. So exciting! Murphy is going to be King Pug of the new pad πŸ™‚

I realized the other week that I have lived in 5 different houses/apartments in the past four years. I’m definitely not moving for awhile!

  8. I have moved so many times and hate it. We just moved last week and I do not want to move for a long time! I have lived in 12 different places in 2 states, 2 countries and 4 cities. Ay yi yi – I have never counted it before – no wonder I hate moving! For someone who lived in the same house from age 2-18, that is way too much moving!

  9. Murphy is just so cute! I’ve lived in 6 different houses/condos and 2 different dorm rooms. Moving to a new place is fun…but actually having to pack and unpack is no fun.

  10. Good luck with your move!! I hate the disorganization that is an inevitable part of moving, but setting up a new place is so fun!!

I lived in 4 different apartments in the first 8 years after finishing up my undergrad degree – 2 places for a year each, another place for 3 1/2 years, and the last place for 2 1/2 years. I just moved AGAIN a few weeks ago to my 5th place, which is also my BF’s and my first place together. Hopefully we won’t be moving again until it’s to something more permanent!

  11. I know this sounds crazy…but I have lived 10 different places. I was born in South Korea, was adopted by my parents in MN (lived in three houses there), went to college and lived in the dorm, then 5 different houses/apartments there. I think there might be more moves in store since I graduate soon and have to move AGAIN!

    Good luck on your move!

  12. YAY for finally moving into your new place. i bet your so excited! πŸ™‚ i’ve lived in 3 different places thus far in my life, and i see many more in my future! πŸ™‚

  13. Oh I’ve lived all over – born in New Orleans, grew up mostly overseas (5 years London, 6 years Australia), high school in Texas, college in Georgia, now in Tennessee (2 different cities). Who knows where next!?

  14. let me think…i guess i’ve lived in 12 places – but this is also counting 4 different housings at college and places i’ve lived for a month at a time….
Sorry… forgot to say great post – can’t wait to read your next one!

  15. So exciting about the big move! Growing up, my family moved 4 times… in college I lived in a dorm for freshman year and then in my sorority house for the remaining 3 years… since then I haven’t lived in any one apartment or house for longer than 1 year! During grad school, I lived in Cambridge for the first year, then Davis Square for the second. During our stint in Houston, John and I lived in a high rise apartment and then bought a house… and finally we’re back in Boston. Phew! I’m looking forward to selling the place in Houston and buying a house around here somewhere.

I can’t wait to see the new apartment! I bet Mal chose a great place :).

  16. I have moved so many times, I pretty much have it down to a science. However, since I met & married my husband I have finally planted roots. Our final move (for a LONG while)last year was my 28th move!!!

    BTW, I am only 32!

    Lots of luck!

  17. Awesome question! I’ve lived in 3 different states and 5 different apartments since graduating from college 4 years ago! And that doesn’t count all my college moves. Now ask me how many roommates I’ve had πŸ™‚

I live by the moving motto: When in doubt, Throw it out!! That and beers have never tasted so good once you’re finished. Good luck!!

  18. I was a Navy Brat who married an Army man. I’ve lived in 23 homes, dorms, apartments. Fortunately for me it’s been all over the place and I’ve met so many wonderful people!

  19. mr murphy is so cute and well behaved!
Ive lived in 9 different places. moving is such an exciting event (not to mention a little exhausting!). new neighborhood means new eating places to discover! yipee!

  20. I know this is an old post but I thought it would be fun to answer. Since I’m new to your blog i’m back tracking a bit.
I have lived in the following places:

    πŸ™‚ That was fun.
