We Did It All

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Somehow, I am sick again. (WTF? Twice in less than a month?!) I feel like crap and I’m running a fever of 101.1 degrees. 😕

Despite feeling terrible, Mal and I managed to accomplish everything on our To Do list for the day, so hooray for that! 😀

Our first stop of the day was City Sports to pick up our numbers and chips for the Chilly Half Marathon, which is bright and early tomorrow morning. (As of right now, I’m still planning to run it. But, we’ll see how I feel in the morning.)

I love the long sleeve running shirts for the Chilly Half!

Mal and I bought a few things at City Sports (i.e. Gu, spandex pants) and then headed down to IKEA to get our shop on. We had a huge list of things to buy and spent a solid two hours there.

On our list:

  • Area rug
  • Bath mats
  • Trash cans
  • Sheets
  • Duvet covers
  • Lamp shades
  • Pillow covers
  • Drawer organizers
  • Arm chair

I felt like we bought one of everything at IKEA!

The arm chair that we purchased didn’t fit in the back of Mal’s car, so we had to remove it from the box.

Thankfully, it fit!

Just barely! 😉

Then, we made a quick stop at Home Depot before heading home to unload the car and let the pug stretch his little doggie legs.

At home, I took Murphy for a walk around the block while Mal headed to the grocery store to do our shopping for the week. Divide and conquer, baby.

Then, we hopped back into the car and drove to our old apartment to grab the kitchen table that the movers forgot to load into the truck. Boo. I have no idea how it got left behind.

At this point in the day, Mal and I were both famished! We hadn’t eaten anything since breakfast, so we popped into Bruegger’s for bagel sandwiches.

I went with ham + Swiss cheese on a rosemary bagel with lettuce, tomato, pickles, cucumber, mayo, and sprouts.

Food never tasted so good! It actually made me feel a little bit better too.

At Bruegger’s, I left a CNC business card on the bulletin. Free marketing, right? 😉

Now, we’re home and I’m taking it easy for the rest of the night. Unpacking and organizing will have to wait for now. Our house is still in shambles, but it’s slowing coming together.

Curling up with the pug on the couch and heading to bed early. Let’s hope for an overnight recovery!

  1. I love your business, the green is my favorite color! I hope you can run tomorrow, races are always so fun so I hope you don’t have to miss it!

  2. Tina…Studies have shown that your immune system is weakened while training for a marathon. That could explain why you keep getting sick. Hope you feel better and good luck with the marathon tomorrow.

  3. Hope you feel better and can run the race tomorrow!

I love your business card. Great idea to promote your blog and book by posting that at local businesses. Where did you order them through? I need to look into some for myself and for my mom and sister-in-law for their craft/sewing hobbies.

  4. I hope you feel better! And remember if you don’t run please return the timing device to Fattman Productions or they’ll be charged $10 (which will not go to the American Liver Foundation). Great meeting you again!

  5. I’ve always been in love with your blog, but recently (since you’ve bought the new house) I’ve been obsessed with it! I can’t WAIT to own my own place, so I’m living vicariously through you! Plus, you have the BEST taste in furniture!

    Feel better!

  6. I am so late on this Tina, but CONGRATS to you , Mal, and Murphy on the new house! Its beautiful and I cant wait to see it when your all done organizing!

Love Ikea, they have the best stuff!

Hope you feel better : )

  7. Sorry you’re sick! I’ve been sick twice this month. I’m pretty pissed. As soon as I felt back to normal I got something else. 🙁 You guys got a lot done for being sick though!

  8. You guys sure know how to get things done! It must feel loads better to get some of the big organizing stuff out of the way 😉

Maybe you’re sick because of all the busyness and the stress of the move, I mean eating did make you feel better, so that’s a good sign (as far as not having the flu or anything). Feel better soon!!! 🙂

  9. hope you feel better! Good luck on your run! I need luck for the Warrior Dash next weekend 😐

  10. Oh you poor thing – I know how you feel! I’ve been sick for two weeks of the past month too. As others are saying – don’t push yourself tomorrow! Rest, don’t run – get better!

  11. Hola Tina!! I’m happy I’m done with some work I’ve dealing with last week and hasn’t let me catch up on your blog 🙁
However, Congrats for moving into your new house, what an awesome step in your life it should be!!! I hope you’re feeling better now.

Thank you for posting even when you’re sick 😉
