Wayfair Saturn Steel Fire Pit Giveaway

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

After the Falmouth Road Race yesterday, Mal and I invited Jess and her husband Scott back to our house to hang out. Our afternoon and evening included drinks, dinner, and lots and lots of laughs. Seriously. Jess and Scott are hilarious. At one point, Mal and I both agreed our faces actually hurt from laughing so much!

Our evening also included trying out our new fire pit that my friends at Wayfair sent me to review.

Wayfair has all sorts of great fire pits in a variety of shapes, sizes, and styles (there are some seriously funky ones) on their website. Mal and I picked the Fireside Escapes Saturn Steel Fire Pit because of its simple design and smaller size. Our backyard isn’t all that big, so we didn’t want a huge fire pit monstrosity taking up half of our backyard. We also liked the shape and low proximity to the ground, so we could invite friends over and all comfortably sit around it.

Please note the pug in the photo below. He was so sneaky with the kindling.

He’s so darn cute. Obviously, we couldn’t get mad. It’s Murphy’s world…

We hung out by the fire pit for quite awhile, telling stories and chatting about life.

We ended up keeping the “spark guard screen” off the fire pit for the majority of evening””mostly because it made for easy access when we wanted to add more wood.

Plus, the fire wasn’t really sparking at all.

Here’s what the fire pit looks like with the spark guard screen on:

It also makes a great piece of equipment for chasing and trying to trap pugs!

Scott and Murphy had a grand old time running around the yard with the spark guard screen. The two of them had us laughing so hard!

High five?

Denied! Haha!

I also really liked that the outside rim of the fire pit stayed cool. I wouldn’t want someone to walk by and burn their leg on it or something like that. And, hey, it’s great for putting up and warming your feet!

Ok, giveaway time!

  1. I would love to win a fire pit! It gets so cold at night here and it would be nice to enjoy a warm evening on my patio without freezing!

  2. I would love a fire pit because I’ve wanted one ever since we got our house almost five years ago. I feel like we’ve become much more outdoorsy lately and it would do wonders for extending our outside time together sitting around relaxing and catching up. Would remind me of summers at Duxbury Beach and the bonfires we used to have!

  3. Oh, I NEED a firepit, because this weekend my husband expressed an interest in using our grill to start a fire (bad idea!). I talked him out of it, but I’m sure it’ll come up again…

  4. We’ve lived in our “new” house for a year now (bought it last summer). Would love to make better use of the outdoor space and this is the perfect thing!

  5. I need a fire pit. Mine was destroyed in hurricane sandy, and we haven’t gotten around to replacing it yet. 🙁

  6. Everyone has such good reasons so I guess mine would be that my anniversary is in a couple weeks and this would be a WONDERFUL surprise…my husband, like other boys…LOVES fire:P

  7. I would love one for our backyard, as we just finished a new patio and that would complete the look! Besides, who doesn’t love to make s’mores?

  8. I’ve been longing for a fire pit like this! We just bought a house on the North Shore with only a tiny yard, tiny but what a pit like this could really work for!!! So cool!

  9. I have a “milestone” birthday coming in September. This would be great to have at the party to sit around and tell stories about how “young” I am.

  10. OMG. I’ve been wanting one of these so badly to roast marshmallows. I’m a smore’s addict. It’s just not the same roasting them over our gas grill!

  11. We love spending time outside, regardless of the time of year. With two young kids and two dogs, we are in the backyard a LOT. We have always talked about getting a fire pit, not only for the cooler fall nights but to also use for backyard camput outs! Roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire pit would be so much fun!

  12. Hoping there’s still time to enter! I bought a house recently and a fire pit would help me make it more welcoming and homey.

  13. Cool giveaway! My hubby and I were just talking about getting a fire pit…or he wanted to build one (disaster). We would love to win so we could roast marshmellows and drink bourbon cider with friends outside in the fall. 🙂

  14. Our second wedding anniversary is coming up and I was planning to get my husband a fire pit. This would be great!

  15. I would love this for the backyard to spend time with family, a glass of wine, and chat. Seems so relaxing!

  16. We have a small backyard in Somerville and often have barbecues, so this looks like it would fit in our yard and make for some fun times. And we could make s’mores!
