Walk, Eat, Meet

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

The theme of the day: walk, eat, and meet. Monica, Chandra, and I walked all over Boston, ate delicious food, and met up with a few blog buddies. It was a great day!

We had a slow start to our morning, so we headed straight to lunch as soon as we arrived in the city. The folks at Tossed invited us to try them for lunch.

Tossed offered a great selection of salad, crepe wraps, sandwiches, paninis, and smoothies. I was pretty impressed with their menu.

Ali and Shannon joined us for lunch. It was so, so, so nice to see them!

It took me a little while to decide (several different options sounded delicious), but I eventually chose the Spinach Salad, which was made with baby spinach, shiitake mushrooms, roasted portobello mushrooms, roasted onions, smoked bacon, and croutons with balsamic vinaigrette. The mushrooms were fabulous. Good pick by me!

I also drank a bottle of seltzer with lunch.

After lunch, Chandra, Monica, and I said goodbye to Shannon and Ali and headed out to explore Boston.

On the walk, I satisfied my sweet tooth with a Ghirardelli dark chocolate square.

The three of us started our walk in Copley Square.

Then, strolled through the Public Gardens.

And Boston Common.

We walked by the State House.

And met up with the Freedom Trail.

Which brought us to Quincy Market, where we met Evan! It was great to see him, too!

The four of us wandered into the North End with hopes of stumbling upon Mike’s Pastry. Thankfully, it didn’t take too much effort to find it!

At Mike’s, I ordered a scoop of both coffee and vanilla gelato. Delish!

Finally, our walk took us to the waterfront.

Now, Chandra, Monica, and I are home relaxing. Our plan for the evening is eating take-out Thai food, watching Jersey Shore, and going to bed early. We’re waking up at the butt-crack of dawn for our race tomorrow morning!

  1. What a great day! And you walked right by my hotel too! I got a few of those ghirardelli squares. 😉

It’s fun to be a tourist in your own city.

  2. I love coffee gelato! Though after eating two servings of gelato (at least) every day in Florence last year, I can comfortable say I like all forms of gelato 🙂

  3. I’ve wanted to visit Boston since I was a kid. I’m a total nerd. I would do the walking tours and totally love the history.

  4. i love hearing your adventures, and I follow Ali’s blog too! I didnt know you knew each other, how cool. I wish their were more fellow bloggers here in St Louis

  5. I have been loving reading the adventures you girls have been having since they came in , and last nights tweets were so funny! U girls were my entertainment! Good Luck on the race tomorrow!! xoxo <3

  6. I miss New England! I live in Vermont, but I’m currently living in New Zealand, your pictures are making me homesick! what a fun day 🙂

  7. Man, your pictures reminds me of my 2006 trip to Boston. Spent a week walking that great town while the hubby did work. What a great city.

  8. Wow, that guy hanging upside down in the straight jacket was there when I went to Boston over a year and a half ago, I can’t believe he’s still there!
