Good morning! I love waking up in Vermont!
I just got back from a glorious 5.85-mile run through the Lake Champlain Bikeways, which run throughout the Lake Champlain Valley. Rumor has it there’s 1,300+ miles of bike paths!
Check out the sign that I saw on my run! š
Breakfast
Within minutes of finishing my run, Mal and Dave arrived home with bagels and iced coffee! Yes!!! Best husbands ever! š
My hubby ordered me a Roasted Red Pepper-Asiago bagel with roasted red pepper and jalapeƱo cream cheese. Holy yum!
It was aĀ glorious breakfast! š
Friday Night
After getting settled in Burlington, we headed to our friends’ house in Ferrisburgh, Vermont. On the ride, we stopped at Quiznos. To save time, Dave and I took orders and ran inside get dinner for everyone.
Mal, Marie, and the dogs waited in the car.
Murphy throughly enjoyed the 30-minute ride to Farrisburg. He loved all of the sights, sounds, and smells. Murphy is definitely more of a country dog than a city dog!
Our friends’ house inĀ Ferrisburgh is AMAZING!! The house itself is beautiful and the yard is exactly what I want some day. Basically, Mal and I want to move in with them! š
My flatbread “Sammie” from Quiznos was actually pretty good. Better than I thought it would be!
I also snacked on a couple of chocolate chips cookies and cheese + crackers over the course of the night.
And a local beer! š
I didn’t end up taking too many photos last night, but I had a really nice time with our friends.
There were a lot of drinking games going on last night, but I didn’t participate. I’m not going to lie, I really wanted to play Flip Cup, but I kept my boozing to a minimum. There’s quite a bit of beer drinking on the agenda for today, so I tried to balance it out! š
See ya! š

I am CRACKING UP at the cookies stored in the empty lettuce container. Excellent example of re-using and recycling for a higher purpose! <3

I <3 VT!!! So glad you're enjoying your time in VT! I used to live in Burlington and you have to go to this amazing restaurant called Magnolias (next to Flatbread on Saint Paul Street). They have the best breakfast and lunch plates, and the best part is that they use all locally grown ingredients! I live in Seattle now, but am always having cravings for their apple, maple sausage, and cheese omelette!
I really like that first bagel picture. It makes me want to grab it! š
Murphy needs more trips to Vermont! That is the face of a happy pug. š
I miss Vermont. I graduated from UVM in 2000 and haven’t been back since!

I LOVE Vermont!!!! Vermont and Maine are two of my favorite places in the world. haven’t been in a while, since moving away from Boston to the “other” coast. Thanks for the pics! (LOVE that sign, lol!)
That sign is hysterical. I love the sense of humor. I’ve never been to Vermont, and I think you just made me add it my “Must Go” list.
I just want to squeeze Murphy’s cute pug face!
Love the dog park sign!! — I love that you were able to resist flip cup last night (in favor of beers today). How did you do it? Did your friends give you a hard time?
I think I need to move to Vermont…not only for the gorgeous abundance of bike/run paths, but also that monstrosity of a bagel! Holy yum is right!!!!

Those trails sound amazing! Nice routes always motivate me to go for a run.
Haha that picture of Murphy with the sunglasses totally cracks me up! š
I just love reading your Vermont posts – I learn more about my home state each time! Never knew about the Lake Champ. Bike paths (though I don’t go up that way terribly often anyways) And I guesse we have pretty cool signs if I say so myself š

The bikeways look so beautiful! š what a refreshing atmosphere
