Vacation Begins Now

Hellooo! Long time, no blog!

The last couple of days have been really busy for me, so I haven’t had time to blog, but the good news is that I have lots to tell you guys about my adventures with New Balance and the Falmouth Road Race, but they will have to wait until tomorrow when I have more time to put together a post. Plus, there’s a hot game of Yahtzee next on the agenda!

Late this morning, when I returned “home” after the race, I found my family relaxing in the backyard.

I was so happy to see everyone enjoying vacation to its fullest, so I decided to join them. I finally felt like I was on vacation… for real.

A little while later, we headed inside for some fun in the huge, old gym that is attached to the house where we are staying. It’s right off of the kitchen. Isn’t that cool, but sort of weird at the same time?

Once we got bored of playing in the gym, we drove into Chatham to do some shopping and exploring.

The only thing that I purchased during our travels was a bag full of candy.

I love (like really love) mix and match candy bins. I always have the best time picking and choosing different candies to add to my bag”” and today was no different. I felt like a kid in a candy store. (Duh!)

My bag included a mix of chocolate and gummy candies (aka the best of both worlds). I ate it all before we even got home. Booyah.

Back at home, everyone helped to make dinner.

On the menu: hamburgers, chicken, grilled mushrooms, and salad.

With everyone helping, dinner came together in no time at all.

Yatzee is calling my name!

Enjoy the evening, guys!

P.S. Cape folks: My family and I want to have lunch in Hyannis tomorrow afternoon. Any recommendations?

  1. I have an aunt and uncle in Chatham! My aunt’s parents own a shop called Tale of the Cod :). Looks like you visited The Candy Manor. I spent many summer nights getting candy there after days at the beach! Love the cape!

  2. Cafe E Dolci (in Hyannis) has amazing breakfast. They have a hot vanilla drink and cranberry scone that are to die for! Seriously the best vacation breakfast ever! The staff is super friendly as well.
    430 Main Street, btw

  3. Some fun places to eat are Bobby Byrnes, Sam Diego’s, and this sounds wierd but is really good.. Spanky’s Clam Shack. Happy Vacation!

  4. Looks like you guys are having a great time! I looove candy stores like that, I go for dark chocolate and chewy candy, too (watermelon sour patch, yummm). Enjoy your real vacay 🙂

  5. It was nice meeting you briefly at the Falmouth Road Race! It kind of felt like I was meeting a celebrity haha Have a great vacation 🙂

  6. Hi! My name is Katherine and I’ve been creeping on you…like forever. I finally randomly got inspired and started a blog today.

Just wanted to say I’m a big fan 😀

  7. Tina I wish I had caught this post earlier! I grew up in Dennis… not too far from Hyannis. A LOT has changed but you should definitely try the Raw bar in Hyannis! It is so so so good. They have the most ridiculous lobster roll I have ever had. It is on Ocean Street. Too bad the weather isn’t so hot but I’m sure you’ll have a fabulous time anyway!

BTW I love the random old gym attached to your Cape house! That’s really awesome hahaha

  8. That gym is definitely weird, but whatever. As long as you don’t have awkward middle school PE flashbacks.
And candy bins are THE BEST! There’s a candy store at my mall so whenever my friends and I are bored we get bags of candy and then plat with the puppies in the pet store. I usually go with mostly Jelly Bellies, Swedish Fish and Haribo with a chocolate-covered something thrown in for fun.

  9. I’m totally a sucker for a candy store too – especially the mix & match ones! We have a mini-version at my favorite local theater, and I never leave a movie there without a sugar high! Glad you’re having a good vacation – love that there is a gym attached!

  10. This looks like an amazing holiday!
That sweet shop looks so cute, my kind of shop 😛
I think having a gym attatched when you’re on holiday with people is pertty handy for fun and games, even if it is a little odd!
