Winter half marathon: CHECK! ๐
Spring half marathon: CHECK!
I just registered to run Boston’s Run to Remember at the end of May, so now I haveย two out ofย four half marathons on the calendar for 2011. Yay!
I ran the Run to Remember back in 2009 when I was injured, so it wasn’t a very good race for me. Hopefully, this year’s willย go a lot better.
Caitlin also signed up for the Run to Remember, so I’m sure that a (virtual) training buddy will help me too!
Dinner
Mal and I enjoyed a tasty crockpot dinner at Dave and Marie’s house this evening. We had Baked Potato Soup! Mmm!
Soup toppings: bacon, shredded cheddar, and sour cream.
On the side, we had garlic bread made with Garlic Gold, which was a Christmas present from Mal and me!
And cupcakes for dessert!
A.R.T. + Cambridge, 1. Giveaway
Thanks to everyone who entered this morning’s giveaway! Here’s your winner:

I love Cambridge 1! It was one of my favorite parts of living in Harvard Square last year. I like the one with tossed baby arugula, fontina, and parmigiano (#7). Gotta love the โpizzasalad.โย
Congrats, Erin! Please email me at tina@carrotsncake.com to claim your prize!

Hi Tina!
This is my first time commenting, but I have been following your blog for a few weeks now.
I ran to the Run To Remember last year, and seeing this post both reminded and prompted me to sign up again! It was great last year, and now I cannot wait for May. That would be so awesome to see you and Caitlin there, probably difficult though as there will be thousands of people participating! Haha
Are you going to the expo the day before to pick up the race packet and such?
And I am live near Boston as well, yay for snow days for my family as well ๐
Yummm, baked potato soup sounds like the PERFECT comfort food in this weather (snow in DC).
The cupcakes turned out perfect. Great dinner, love the soup.
Yah Run to Remember! I’m excited to run it this year too. ๐
Snow day for me; I’m staying at the hotel since I’m working tomorrow morning.
Yayy! Woohoo for registering for more races!! ๐
Aww I love snow days! I have them all the time in Chicago though…well not really, I never have snow days in Chicago but we have a lot of days with snow!
I love baked potato soup, especially when bacon and cheese are involved. Yum!
I love Baked Potato Soup – I wish my husband liked it! So creamy and warm.
Lucky that Mal’s school is already cancelled. My husband’s is but mine isn’t yet. Grr.. it better be when I wake up in the morning!
Baked potato soup is always a winner!!
Way to go lady!
That soup looks lovely btw.. I used to love baked potato soup before i became lactose intol.. I should experiment with a dairy-free version. I feel like it wouldn’t come out as creamy though…
Some of the the girls I work with and I were just talking about the Run to Remember last night! I definitely want to do it this year, it’s a great run around the city.
Yum! Looks delicious for a cold snowy evening! Any chance your friends would let you share the recipe?
Enjoy your snow day!! Stay warm and dry, is my advice ๐
Cupcakes (or anything with sugar) is my favorite way to end a meal :). Congrats on your new race goal!
Mmm that baked potato soup looks awesome! But my favorite part is all of the yummy toppings! ๐

Snow days are the best when you know ahead of time!!
Cuuuuuupcaaaaakes.

I think I might sign up for the 5 mile part of the Run to Remember. I’m running my first half marathon earlier that month (in Providence!).
Soup looks delicious. Love the bowls.
That potato soup look ssoooo good!
Great job getting a head start on your goals!
I have the same dish that you used to eat your soup in. I use mine as a countertop veggie storage dish. Tomateoes, potatoes, onions, avocado etc.
Baked potato soup sounds really good right now. Much better than hospital food. ๐ And thanks for the congrats!
oh man, baked potato soup is the BEST! it’s so perfect and creamy…and those toppings? killer ๐
Congrats girl! I really do want to challenge myself and run a half marathon one day ; ) I think next year, this year I have so much going on with me teaching dance trance now, and my wedding!

I ran in 2009 too… God I hope its not as hot this year!!
Baked potato soup sounds perfect for this snowstorm! Yum!
I adore crockpot dinners! So easy and perfect for the winter months.
Congrats on signing up for yet another big race! I’ve heard many good things about Run to Remember! ๐
baked potato soup is my weakness, especially with bacon!
I love the Run to Remember! I didn’t know registrations was open. I have to say I’m excited to do a race “with” you and Caitlin!
I’m running it, too! It’ll be my first half marathon and I already started training. I’m a new runner- since June, but I’m totally hooked. A friend talked me into it- she said it’s a fantastic course. I’m psyched!
Congrats on signing up for the half marathons! Have you ever calculated how many miles you and Mal run in a year? I bet the total is crazy high!
That soup looks so warm and comforting! We got about 3-4 inches of snow overnight last night but, it’s business per usual today. Only a few local schools were on a delay but none were closed.
YES!!!!!! I am doing that half too! We will have to meet up ๐ Maybe even do a few training runs together. This is great News. I am thinking of doing a summer and fall one too. Interested to see which ones you will pick.
