Tuesday Cliff Notes

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Hi, guys!

It’s late here and I’m exhausted, so I’m going to whiz right through this post and give you the cliff notes from the day. Here goes!

Early-morning Rice Chex with my little love. Quinn would much rather eat “on the go” than sit down for a meal. There’s way too much to do and see! This boy never stops moving.

Iced coffee for mama! I also finished off the rest of Quinn’s Chex.

IMG_6006 (1024x768)

Playtime with Chomp and Count Dino!

IMG_6008 (1024x768)

Breakfast potatoes + sauteed zucchini, summer squash, and shallots with eggs and buffalo sauce. I made the potatoes + sauteed veggies on Sunday and then just threw everything together.

IMG_6017 (1024x768)

Morning books. Larry Loves Seattle!

IMG_6019 (1024x768)

Two-mile stroller run. I planned to run for 40 minutes, but it started to rain. Whomp whomp.

IMG_6037 (1024x1024)

Smoothie time! In the mix: Blueberries, grapes, avocado, soy milk, and Radiance Platinum All-In-One Superfood Chocolate Mix, which has so much good stuff in it!

IMG_6031 (1024x768)

A trip to Target in the pouring rain + teething. We got soaked on the way in!

IMG_6040 (1024x1024)

A snack for my little monkey.

IMG_6043 (1024x768)

We shared the banana. We also ate more Chex.

IMG_6046 (1024x768)

And we read more books.

IMG_6050 (1024x768)

Afternoon snack! Guac + plantain chips = yum!

IMG_6052 (1024x768)

Family walk.

IMG_6054 (1024x768)

Trip to the doctor. Ear infection. Poor kid. He wasn’t himself all day. I knew something was wrong.

IMG_6059 (768x1024)

Leftovers for dinner: Ground beef with peppers and taco seasoning.

IMG_6063 (1024x768)

Double Chocolate Mighty Muffin for dessert!

    1. Yesterday I had waffles and peanut butter fluff for breakfast!

I bought some new kombucha soda at Target annnnnd a vanilla bourbon candle for my new apartment.

I went to Target. For hours. Ha.

      Happy hump day!

  2. Peach with cottage cheese and walnuts. Bought first birthday party invitations. Went to the gym and a walk with the family.
    I hope Q feels better!

  3. Breakfast: Left that (and lunch) at home, found some old Chex at work.
Bought: Paid to have my car fixed.
Went: To the gym! De-stressed with some weights 🙂

The muffins look amazing and Quinn is adorable. Hope he feels better!

  4. Breakfast was oatmeal with strawberries. I bought a hot chocolate from Starbucks, and we went to Target yesterday, too!

  5. Poor Quinn! Feel better buddy 🙂

Breakfast: I am on this two week eggs every morning kick… craving them like a mad person recently 🙂

Shopping: Dog treats! My 3month old puppy is SO picky! What kind of dog doesn’t like peanut butter flavored treats!?

  6. Your breakfast: yogurt and granola
Something you bought: vanilla chair almonds <– SO good
Somewhere you went: the gym…then I had a flat tire when I came out 🙁

  7. Can we have a tour of Quinns playroom some day? I want to setup a playroom and need some ideas and you always find the greatest things! lol

-Breakfast was a peanut butter chocolate vitatop and a banana.

-Bought: Well we are converting our house from propane to natural gas and the HVAC company was at the house all day setting it up. Yipee!

-Yesterday I went to the office and to daycare to pick up my little guy…love picking him up because when he see’s me he makes a B line right to me!

  8. The radiance drink, can you describe the taste of it? Is it grassy at all? I bought a superfood chocolate drink mix elsewhere a while ago and all i could taste was a grassy taste and no chocolate, looking for a good one that tastes good.

  9. I literally just read Larry goes to Seattle with my son!!! Too cute!!!

Breakfast was English muffin with laughing cow cheese and egg.

I bought a iced vanilla bean coffee with almond milk. (My fav)

Went to the park with my kids and mom while she’s visiting.

  10. breakfast: 4 egg whites, 1 oz sausage, 2 cups raw spinach, 2 pieces Ezekiel bread

Went: Farmer’s market this morning, but no purchases

  12. Aye yogurt with granola and fruit, bought a Polar seltzer and went to work. Pretty boring day even if you were tiniest the unabridged version 🙂

    Hope Quinn feels better soon!

  13. Your little man just grew up so fast. I guess I’ve always wanted to read when your little guy started sleeping through the night, stopped feeding in the night, and if you had to do any sleep training like with the pacifier etc. It all seemed so natural to you with not many struggles…Do you mind sharing that information?

  14. My new go-to breakfast, thanks to inspiration from you, is an iced coffee protein shake with light vanilla soy milk! (then later a banana)
Bought: Strawberry Balsamic Goat Cheese Gelato=NOMS
    Went: to Crossfit, obviously!

  15. Hi Tina. I listened to your interview with Girls Gone WOD podcast during my run this morning. It was so cool to hear your voice after following your blog for the past two years. You rock!

  16. Tuesday cliff notes:
Breakfast: scrambled eggs & turkey bacon
Something I bought: hmmm, I don’t think I bought anything yesterday, but my cleanser and toner arrived from Nordstrom in the mail
    Somewhere I went: work. boring.

Also, Quinn is just so cute and I love seeing pics of him. His hair is adorable. I didn’t comment on the judgement post yesterday, but I am appalled that someone commented on you raising your son irresponsibly. You and Mal are doing a great job. Quinn is so loved and cared for.

  17. Breakfast: Ezekiel Cinnamon Raisin muffin with Coconut Almond butter
Bought: Pictures for a gallery wall online
Went: Out to dinner with friends!

  18. Hardboiled eggs and granola bar

Key Lime Pie for my Dad’s birthday

What an interesting combo plantain chips and guac? I would have never thought…

  19. Breakfast: banana
    Bought: saltines
    Went: work?
My Tuesday was NOT exciting, plus I had a migraine w/ nausea, so I could only eat bland

  20. That teething/ear infection combo is the worst. My nephew basically had one continuous ear infection from 1-3 thanks to that. Awful stuff and not much you can do for the little one :(.

Breakfast: Coffee haha. I sleep late because I bartend and then drink coffee and run my dog and it’s time for an early lunch by then.

Bought: New running shoes and new work shoes, because that’s all I ever wear anymore.

Went: Work. For like the 50th shift in a row haha. One more and a day off!

Also, your kid is the strongest argument for procreating with a red-haired men I’ve ever seen. Even more than Prince Harry. He’s adorable.

  21. Thanks for posting the link to the Mighty Muffins. My husband and I are trying to start a family but I just found out my glucose levels are high so I am trying to get them down as best as I can (trying to stay Paleo and still watch my carb/sugar in take). The chocolate muffins are within my ok range and I am stoked to have something help with my sweet tooth I get every now and then!

  22. Breakfast: Egg on a bun with a little cheese, coffee and half a banana

    Bought: Nothing

    Went: To the laundry room
