Hey there!

Local runner friends: Here’s your chance to win a free entry to the Tory Row 5K!

Tory Row is at it again with their 5K road race! I heard last year’s event was a ton of fun (see banana costume below)!

The Tory Row 5K includes some really great prizes, a number pick-up party, swag (including a tech shirt and sport backpack), chip timing, bag check, and a post-race celebration with music, food, and free beer.

All proceeds from the race benefit a wonderful local organization called Title IX Girls Running Club. It’s very similar to Girls on the Run, but based in Cambridge and focusing on all aspects of emotional health for girls ages 9-15 with a focus on running. Learn more here.

To help promote the race, the folks from Tory Row offered to give Mal and me free entries to the race as well as one to give away on CNC, so here’s your chance to enter to win!

To enter: Just leave a comment on this post about why you’d like to run the Tory Row 5K. I’ll randomly pick a winner on Thursday morning.

Good luck!

  1. This race happens right near my house every year and I’ve just never gotten it together to sign up. Sounds super fun!

  2. Me me me! I remember reading your post about the swag and thinking I wanted to do it the next year.

  3. I would love to run the tory road 5k because i am just getting back into running for the season and it looks like a great race!

  4. I can’t think of any better way to celebrate the start of summer and it would be a great way to kick off my last week of school (I’m a teacher!)

  5. I’m trying to get more involved with outside fitness and this is a great addition to my plans! I running the Color Vibe 5k in Manchester, NH next weekend and also the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge 5k in Boston in June. What’s another 5k, right?! Oh, and maybe I’ll be able to find some time to finally try some of the famous MaryLou coffee! =)

  6. I’d love to be apart of the Tory row 5k. Besides loving that bar, I’ve been dealing with bursitis for the past year and a half, which detailed me from running regularly without pain. I’ve rehabbed and finally reached a point where I’m back to where I used to be, and an looking to enter a race to celebrate that!

  7. I heard this is a fun, and beautiful scenic race! My friends ran this last year, however, I was away and was unable to attend. I would love to do the race this year!

  8. I will be completing residency this June in Delaware and am moving back to New Hampshire to start private practice mid-July. This would be a great way to celebrate and kick off the summer 😀 I have never done the race and sounds like a great cause and a blast!

  9. I have already gone WAY over my race budget, so a free race would be nice! It would be a great way to prep for the Patriots 10K too!

  10. I can’t afford races right now so it would be great to have a chance to run one for free 🙂 The cause is awesome too! Looks like an overall awesome time.

  11. A bunch of the girls from my work are running and I’d love to join them! Plus it sounds like a really great cause!

  12. Would love to do this! I”m from the area and have always wanted to do this race! And enjoy some good eats and drinks at Tory Row after!

  13. I have been looking for some fun local races for the season and I am always down for one with an after party!

  14. I would love to run this because I work in Harvard Square, love running, love races even more, and love the sweet potato pizza at tory row!!! pick me!!

  15. I’m new to running and have been thinking about a 5k. This one sounds like the perfect reason to go for it!

  16. I would love to run this race for everyone in Boston. I know it’s nowhere close to being the distance that so many runners conquered that day, but I’d just love to get out and show people that just because one thing went wrong at a race, doesn’t mean we, as runners, are going to ever stop running. If anything, what happened in Boston has made me want to run harder, longer, and more just to prove that we are strong people, and if we don’t fear sweat, blisters, and pain, we’re definitely not going to fear anyone who threatens the sport we love.

  17. Being a teacher and track coach for middle school-aged children, this cause hits very close to home. I am so interested in the well-being of the children I work with, and feel this causes is beyond worthy. It’s tough to be a girl, so why not provide an outlet and the appropriate knowledge to “feel good”?
Thanks so much for the opportunity,

  18. I’ve actually had my eye on this race for a while, but haven’t committed because of my graduate student budget. I’d love to run this because I haven’t run a race since November (!) and I think it looks like a lot of fun!

  19. I would love to run this race because it supports the great cause. I’ll share about the race and promote it among my friends & family.

  20. I ran this last year. It was fun! I am on a break from entering races since I’m currently unemployed and I’m itching to race! Fun!

  21. Nothing better than summer 5ks! Have heard great things about this one..would love to run this year.

  22. i want to run the tory row 5K b/c i paid to run last year and then couldn’t make it! couldn’t afford it this year (it’s an expensive 5K!)

  23. I would love to run this 5k because usually the only 5k I run during the year is a turkey trot. I would love to see if my half marathon training for run to remember has impacted my speed!

  24. I would love to win a chance to run this race, as I am just getting back into running and think such a fun race for such a great purpose would be the perfect come back race!

  25. Yes to more local 5Ks, and that one looks like a blast! This race would be a great way to focus on speeding up my 5K time.

  26. I’d love to win this (& Thursday is my birthday so it’d be an awesome surprise) not only because I love to run and race but because emotional health is something that hits close to home with me
