And just like that December is over. The holiday season came and went, and the new year is already knocking on our door. Here are my favorite posts from December!
Finally! A New Recipe Page!
I’ve been meaning to update the Recipe page on CNC for months and months now. It hadn’t been updated since 2009, so I had my work cut out for me- from re-categorizing and fixing broken links to weeding out so-so recipes and adding new, delicious ones.
Cheesy Shaved Brussels Sprouts & Leeks
Holy crap, this is a delicious recipe. Shaved Brussels sprouts and cheese? Two of my favorite foods baked together in one dish? Heaven. It’s also the simplest recipe ever. Please make it!
The Most Wonderful Time Of Year
The holidays really are the most wonderful time of year. I’m already throughly enjoying the season and yesterday was full of friends, fun, and (holiday) festivities! Workout My day started with a CrossFit workout, which was the re-test for the Paleo Challenge benchmark, so we did Jackie again.
Beauty Products I’m Loving Right Now
Do you remember my What I Want Now series? If you’re not familiar, it was a monthly feature on CNC that I “borrowed” from Lucky magazine. In each issue, the “What I Want Now” article features a fashion editor’s top picks and must-haves for the season.
Take A Family Photo
Happy holidays from our family to yours! Yesterday’s 24 Days of Togetherness was “take a family photo,” so we had a little fun with the self-timer on my camera last night. But, no matter what we tried, we could not get Murphy to look at the camera. He looks like a little Scrooge, doesn’t he?
Elf vs. Home Alone
Good morning! Yesterday’s 24 Days of Togetherness was “watch a Christmas movie,” so Mal and I put on our “movie suits,” cozied up on the couch, and watched Elf last night. Growing up, my family and I watched two Christmas movies every year, but nowadays I love Elf. I honestly laugh out loud while watching it.

Twelve Pains of Christmas
Hi, friends! Merry Christmas Eve! Somehow, my “nasty, phlegm-tastic cold” got even worse last night, so I went to bed feeling pretty awful. This morning, I woke up feeling quite a bit better, but definitely not 100%. It was the final day of 24 Days of Togetherness, and Mal and I planned to “wear red and green to CrossFit.”

Our 1-Year CrossFit Anniversary
You may have figured out who my special guest was from Twitter or her blog, but, if not, I had the pleasure of hanging out with Caitlin from Healthy Tipping Point yesterday. She was in town for an Operation Beautiful presentation at Northeastern University last night, so she stayed with me out in the ”˜burbs.
