Hi, friends! Here’s the next edition of the CNC Instagram Live series. If you missed the video last week, here it is for your viewing pleasure!
[adthrive-in-post-video-player video-id=”5goAkuhq” upload-date=”2018-06-21T01:22:14.000Z” name=”CNC Instagram Live #9″ description=”Thoughts on Whey Protein, Hormone Help & Whether We Want More Kids”]
In this episode, I talk about:
- My thoughts on whey protein – my favorite brand is SFH (vanilla, churro, and coconut flavors). If you’re looking for a plant-based protein powder, I really like OWYN in vanilla.
- How to get hormone help through a general practitioner – I’m working virtually with Kristen from Thrive by Food
- How SoulCycle is different from other spin classes
- Whether we want more kids or not

Love that you answered the kids question! We’re on the same page as you and Mal. Our son is going to be FIVE next month! Can’t believe it. We’ve talked a lot about simplifying and ended up selling our house in a town we lived in just a couple years. Decided to move back “home” (45 minutes away hah) before Kindergarten starts in the fall. We want to travel more while our son is young, it’s a blast!
The hormone part was sooooo interesting! I had the SAME EXACT experience with a derm, who put me on spironolactone and it’s not working. Definitely going to look into hormone testing. Thanks Tina!
Ughh, so frustrating! I’ll keep you in the loop!
hahahaha – Murph had to get the last “bark” in! You’re such a great advocate for your health and I think more women need to speak up and not be afraid to push for what they want/need. (Sometimes doctor doesn’t know best….)So good for you, this was a great example on how to speak up even when you don’t get what you want the first time around – interested to see how the hormone testing goes. I’m 36 and I’ve notice some acne popping up again (I had it bad in my teens and it lingered in my 20’s but after having baby #1 it subsided but now, 10 months after baby #2 things are popping up, ugh)

Am I the only one not seeing a video? 🙁
Just close your ad blocker on your browser.
@Tina: Thank you!!
Have you considered whey in your diet to be contributing to your acne? Some studies have shown a correlation. Just a thought! Love your live posts!
@Mandy: That’s a good point too. I noticed my teenage son started to get break out and although he had been drinking protein shakes for a while before the break out happened, we switched him to vegan protein and almost immediately the acne stopped. When he tried whey again, the exact same thing happened.
Have you ever considered they whey protein to be contributing to your acne? Some studies have shown a correlation between the two. Just a thought! Love your live posts!
Only child.. FTW! <3
Hey Tina 🙂
Would you consider posting transcripts of these videos?
Thanks!
Yes! Like the previous post, often when I get a chance to read your blog I’m not in a position to listen. I came on here to see the comments just so I could try to get a read on the more kids topic.
LOVE your response to the “kid question.” We get that a lot too – we have one awesome 4-yr-old and I’m 38 as well… the fertility door is closing …and life is so damn easy and fun with him. I echo your thoughts in seeing a baby and thinking back to the snuggle days but then realize I love the current flexibility and SLEEP.
Hey Tina. I cannot see the video even if I don’t have an ad blocker. I would love to watch it though. Could someone help me?
Thank you for your honesty. I appreciate your perspective on having multiple children. Your tips and insight are wonderful. I have referred a number of my friends and family that are dealing with UC to your blog. They have appreciate your tips and insights to they whole journey. I love your blog and keep up the good work!
Aww, thank you! 🙂
I’ve been having the same internal debate about kids lately. We have one. I’m not 100% sure if I want 2. So thank you for your perspective.
Love your fantastic response to the “kid” question. I think as moms and dads, we all have an innate sense, in our hearts, what number will fit best for our families, bodies, lifestyles and capacity as human beings! You know? Whether that means 1 or 5. Enjoy your sweet family! Love reading your adventures!
Only children are the best. Not weird, just mature and independent!
Just want to say i really appreciate your only child answer. It seems that people have such opinions on this. One is perfect!
Can’t wait to hear how the Dutch test goes!!! So fascinating!!!! Also I’m an only child so there is another somewhat normal person you know for the books! I’m not that weird ha ha
True! Haha!
I love your only child answer! Life with one little guy (mine’s two) is just finally getting fun & “easy”! I love what our family of 3 has together! ❤️
