My baby bump is officially bigger than a bowling ball, so I think it’s safe to say that my third trimester is well under way! I also can’t believe there are single digit weeks left until Baby Haupert arrives! Crazy!
BELLY PICS
CRAVINGS
Nothing crazy or usual. Still loving fresh fruit, smoothies, yogurt, froyo, and cupcakes, but, of course, I always love cupcakes.
AVERSIONS
Pretty much the same as before, but no new ones.
OTHER SYMPTOMS
Frequent urination: Same as before, but I’m a lot more thirsty lately, so I’m drinking more water than I usually do.
Morning sickness: It’s baccckkkkk! It’s nothing like the first trimester, but I still feel a little nauseous at night and sometimes during the day. A lot of foods aren’t super appetizing to me either.
Indigestion: My indigestion was so bad during weeks 29-31, but I finally got it under control by week 32. For me, it had a lot to do with what and how much I was eating for dinner, so when I laid off certain foods and started eating smaller dinners, I started to feel a whole lot better. It’s not completely gone, and I still eat TUMS sometimes, but it’s so much better, especially when it comes to sleeping!
Restless Better sleep: I feel like I am about to jinx myself by saying this, but I’ve been sleeping so well lately. I’m not even using the Snoogle! There were a couple of weeks when Mal was sick and then I was sick (and big and pregnant) when I barely slept, but I’ve been sleeping great lately. I hope it keeps up!
Clear skin: My skin is still looking great!
Cramping: Nothing major, kind of like period cramps. I asked my doctor about it last week and she said it’s totally normal (as long as I don’t see blood or fluid). It just means my body is getting ready to have this baby!
Weight gain: At my 32-week appointment last Monday, I was up 32 pounds.
WORKOUTS
I’m still CrossFitting on a regular basis! Here are my weekly workout recaps from the past three weeks: 30 weeks, 31 weeks, and 32 weeks.
I’m still feeling good, but I recently started to feel some pressure in my hips when I run. Thankfully, we haven’t been doing too much running at CrossFit lately and when we do, I often opt for rowing instead, especially if it’s a longer running WOD. Other than that, I’m just feeling out my workoutsββchallenging myself when I feel good and taking it easy when I don’t have as much energy.
ADDITIONALΒ UPDATES
Baby Haupert gets the hiccups
I knew babies got hiccups in the womb, but I never felt them until about week 31 or so. It actually didn’t occur to me right away what I was feeling, but once I figured it out, I was so excited. So excited, in fact, that I woke Mal from a dead sleep to tell him! Haha! He was kind of annoyed, but he played along and then fell back to sleep. Since then, Baby H. has got them a few more times, which my doctor said is totally normal. She also added that he’ll likely hiccup quite a lot once he’s born too!
Mal and I created a Baby To Do List
The countdown is on until Baby Haupert arrives, and we still have a lot to do! We created a Baby To Do List to help us organize everything and keep us on track, so we’re (somewhat) prepared for his arrival.
I had my spa day
My spa day was wonderful and amazing and everything I wanted and more. I’m so glad that I decided to do it before Baby Haupert arrives!
I had my baby shower!
My family threw me the best baby shower ever! Baby H. received so many nice things and all of his baby gear and adorable clothing make me want him to get here even sooner!
Mal and I took a baby education and safety class
It was definitely helpful, and we learned a lot!

Hey!! So I have been out of the blogging world for a couple of years, but your blog was one that I used to follow religiously! Things got a little crazy with moving, new jobs, and a new BABY, but now I’m back to blogging π I was SO excited to type Carrots N Cake and to see that you are EXPECTING! You look WONDERFUL and I am so so so excited to catch up on your blog again. You’re a wonderful writer and I just wanted to wish you the best!
I’m so glad you’re still here π
xo Molly
Aww, thank you for the kind words! Glad you’re back reading CNC! π
You look so great!! I feel like your pregnancy has flown by from just reading about it!! haha
When I was in the womb, I would get hiccups every night promptly at 9PM for several weeks leading up to birth.
Your rocking it with your workouts! Really an inspiration, you look amazing π
You’re in the homestretch! So exciting! Good idea with the to-do list. My little guy is 4 months old and I still have a couple of things left on my list π Enjoy your last few months getting ready for baby, such a special time.
Everything looks like its going so well! You are getting so close!!
Bummer on the morning sickness!!!! Hopefully it disappears soon!
You look adorable; all belly from what I can tell! And still rocking your workouts, belly and all. Keep it up! π
I love watching your journey and hearing about the changes- it’s so interesting. I also appreciate you incorporating fitness and sharing your experience with crossfit through your pregnancy. Healthy mamma, healthy baby!
The last few weeks go so slow but so fast at the same time. My daughter had the hiccups at least 3 or 4 times a day towards the end. I thought it was so cute unless it was when I was trying to go to sleep. Enjoy every moment and sleep as much as you can! You look fantastic and love that you are still working out. I am 22 weeks (with our second girl) and still circuit train 4 times a week and run on the off days. I hope I can continue as long as possible.
Love your pregnancy updates!! That’s awesome you only have a few more weeks! π
The picture of the cupcake makes me really want now!
you are too cute! mmmm cupcakes.
My first baby had hiccups every afternoon from about 20 weeks on. It was like clockwork, I’d eat lunch, snuggle into the recliner for a quick nap before going back to work, and HIC!
The funniest thing about it is, after he was born he was a wicked hiccuper (word?). Whenever he laughs hard and for real, he gets hiccups for quite a while afterward. I LOVE it! He is 4, and it still happens. I think the reason I love it is because it is one of those things that I can say he has carried on his whole life (hehe, all 4 years), and there is nothing better than a genuine belly laugh. The hiccups are just a sign that he is truly laughing! π
I wonder if anyone else gets hiccups from laughing?
Congrats! It’s the final countdown!
You’re getting so close!!
So happy for you! Congratulations again!
This is so exciting! I love learning the ins and outs of pregnancy, especially since it is such a new experience for both of us…Can I say both of us? Is that weird? π Blog life!
Love these updates! I’m glad to hear everything is going smoothly. You look great, and it sounds like you’re feeling great too! Woohoo!
I’ve never heard about babies in the womb having hiccups–how interesting! Good luck in the final stretch. π
You’re getting so close! How exciting!
Since I’ve never been pregnant, it’s really nice to read your raw thoughts on all things (even the unpleasant ones like indigestion) so I know what I could expect one day. I’m glad you are still active and eating well and enjoying life, even when a little person is growing inside you. π
Oh you look so good!! I remember when my sister in law was pregnant with my nephew she would say that feeling the baby hiccup was so cool! Now, he actually hiccup quite a bit! So funny!
Ahhh you’re so close!! Yes, I remember morning sickness coming back right at 33 weeksβΒ¦except it was night sickness haha. It did go away for a bitβΒ¦.and then I got really sick during labor too. Bummer.
I loved feeling the hiccups in the belly! Isn’t that so fun?! I can’t wait to ‘meet’ baby H too! He’s going to be a cutie. π
You look amazing so fit and beautifully pregnant! I never knew babies hiccuped in the womb. That is hilarious!
You look great girl! Can’t wait to meet Baby H!
Have you found a baby bag yet? Ive been searching for one- it’s so fun! Curious if you’ve found anything out there that I haven’t seen yet!!
I got one made by Chicco. Mal nixed a girly bag, so ours is just black.
Still holding strong with those workouts – so awesome! I love the bowling ball pic, you guys look so happy! π
Wow it doesn’t seem like that long ago that you made the big announcement and now Baby H is only weeks away! I hope the nausea gets better soon! That cupcake looks *so* good–especially the frosting! I’m not a big frosting person but for whatever reason I’ve been craving frosting and only frosting lately. Must be finals-induced cravings π
Wow! Single digit weeks left! Congrats!
That’s incredible that you’re still doing crossfit! You look amazing!
You look so great! I hope this doesn’t come off in a bad way, but it’s really nice to see someone else who has gained more than 27 pounds in their entire pregnancy. Your weight gain seems to be right on with what mine has been, and I don’t feel like I look huge or anything but I’m just always stunned feeling like I’m the only who gained more than 30 pounds in a healthy way! Although I must say, I still think it looks much better on you than on me! π Aren’t hiccups so fun?! I love when she gets them (she has them now as I type!) – mostly because I love being able to tell exactly where her head it and how that changes each time (though still always down!).
This is so exciting! I’m so happy for you!
Not sure if it is the picture or not but I think I can see your belly button poking out in the pink shirt picture…so cute! You look adorable…can’t wait until the little guy is here!
Wow you are in the home stretch! It looks like you guys are definitely ready and gearing up!
My daughter was a big hiccup-er when I was pregnant and once she was born she was just as bad, especially the first few months!
