I'm Tina

Iโ€™m the owner of Carrots โ€˜Nโ€™ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

Tonight,ย Thermador treated our group to a fabulous dinner atย Mastros City Hall Steakhouse to welcome us to Scottsdale and kick-off the “Now You’re (Steam) Cooking Blogger Adventure.”

The menu was pre-set, but we had a choice of salad, entree, and dessert.

To start, everyone enjoyed a piece of Jumbo Shrimp with “atomic” horseradish. Thankfully, we were warned that the horseradish was super hot, so no damage was done! ๐Ÿ˜‰ The horseradish was on par with wasabi, so, of course, I loved it!

For the salad course, I chose the Chopped Salad, which was an assortment of chopped veggies served with a light dressing, shredded Parmesan, and feta cheese.

For my entree, I ordered the Ahi Tuna, which ended up being the biggest portion ever! It was pretty much an entire tuna!! I ate quite a bit, but it still looked like I barely made a dent. I felt terrible wasting so much of it. ๐Ÿ˜•

Dessert was excellent: Chocolate Layer Cake!! ๐Ÿ˜€

By the end of the meal, I was pretty full, but I still managed to eat all of the frosting off of the cake, which is why I feel so stuffed right now. The cake definitely put me over the edge!

I’m on East coast time, so it’s WAY past my bedtime. We have an early start tomorrow morning, so I am headingย straight to bed. This time zone thing totally messes me up!

  1. Wow, that really is a ridiculously huge portion of tuna – it DOES look like a whole tuna! Maybe it’s meant to be shared?! Your dinner looks delicious, and with so many awesome bloggers! ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope you’re having fun!

  2. I know nouvelle cuisine is too 80s for words… but it feels the tiniest bit unethical to serve portions that only a few NFL linebackers could eat. A happy medium, maybe? Or maybe I’m just jealous since I miss tuna now that I’m allergic to fish. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. That cake looks nothing short of amazing. Yum. ๐Ÿ˜€ I’m a frosting-picker, too. Even if I’m stuffed to the gills, I still have room for frosting.

  7. That is my favorite place! We actually go to Mastro’s Ocean Club for special occasions (their seafood concept)and always get Ahi, sashimi style, sugar snap peas, and crabmeat truffle gnocchi for sides. And always plan on taking half that tuna home for lunch on top of salad next day.

    Enjoy rest of your trip, and if you guy get out to explore, hit Kierland for some fun shopping and eats.
