The Great Fundraising Act

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots β€˜N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Good morning! Happy Monday! 😎

First things first: The Great Fundraising Act!

If you haven’t heard about The Great Fundraising Act yet, Janetha of Meals and Moves has organized a live online auction and bake sale for Susan, a fellow blogger, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and has hefty medical bills to the tune of $5000 monthly. For more info about Susan and this fundraiser, you can click here.

The Great Fundraising Act kicks off TODAY! There are over 100 items to bid on, and all funds raised through the auction will go directly to benefit Susan’s treatment.

This is by far biggest online auction I’ve ever seen in the blogworld. Please consider checking it out and bidding. Two signed copies of my book are up for grabs!

I woke up craving eggs this morning. I usually wake up craving cupcakes, so it was a nice change of pace.

I made an egg sandwich on a whole wheat Sandwich Thin with watermelon and an iced coffee with soy milk on the side. Delish.

Marylou’s 25Β’ Iced Coffee

I’m super excited about this:

Obviously, I’m taking a trip to Marylou’s today.

Question of the Day

What is your favorite summer ritual?

Mine: Drinking copious amounts of iced coffee. Ok, I do that year-round. My favorite summer ritual is taking Murphy for evening walks. I love the cool evenings. Murphy does too. Going to Kimball’s for ice cream is also aΒ summer ritual. I need to take a trip SOON!

P.S. A new Carrots ‘N’ Weights post is coming later this morning!

  1. My favorite summer ritual is going to the corner ice cream place in my hometown. Even though I don’t live there anymore, when I go back to visit friends, we always go, and I always get my old standby (raspberry chocolate chip in a wafer cone with rainbow jimmies!).

  2. What a coincidence! I had the same thing for breakfast yesterday, an egg sandwich on wheat toast, coffee (just that mine was warm, not cold, not hot) and watermelon…good breakfast choice!

  3. Favorite summer rituals? Grilling dinner out on the back deck, drinking lots of iced tea and iced coffee, going into the town center for handmade ice creams (haven’t done that yet this season, we’d better get on it!!) and on super-steamy nights, taking a quick dip in the pool to cool off just before bed.

  4. My favorite summer ritual has become…..putting the kids in their swimsuits when they get up, eat breakfast, and go outside for the whole morning. Just us three, having a fun, relaxing time. It’s nice to go outside because then I don’t think as much about what I should be doing inside, I just enjoy spending time with them.

  5. I love going for walks after dinner during the summer as it’s still light outside. If I fed my daily fro yo addiction, I’ll pick one up en route πŸ™‚

  6. 1) Taking my son to his basket ball games and spending 2hours at the recreation park (being outdoors, chatting with friends) 2) Going to the nearby high school track on weekend mornings and getting a good run, this makes me feel like a Olympic track star!
