The Friday 5

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Hi, guys! Happy Friday to you! 🙂

What a week. It was a bit hectic, but awesome at the same time. Monday was a holiday. School was cancelled for Mal on Tuesday (due to the cold). On Wednesday, some of our friends came to visit, and then we went to see a Damien Rice concert. (He was phenomenal – one of the best shows I’ve ever seen!) Yesterday, I woke up not knowing what day it was and a tad dehydrated from drinking too much wine and eating like a half bag of salt & vinegar chips. I’m finishing this post, bright (dark) and early, on Friday morning, and here we are just hours away from the weekend!

Since it’s Friday and all, I wanted to share my top 5 favorites from the week, so let’s get to it! 🙂

Fyre Festival – HAVE YOU GUYS HEARD ABOUT THIS? If you haven’t heard about the Fyre Festival yet, it’s truly a WTF. Just last week, two documentaries were release (by both Netflix and Hulu), which share details of the whole fiasco. The story is totally insane! Both documentaries are worth a watch!

Bombas Lightweight No Shows – I first discovered Bombas back in early 2015, and I’ve been a die-hard supporter ever since. Their socks are truly magical. They fit well, stay put, and last… for about 3 years, which, in the sock world, is a good long time. And, truthfully, I only had 8 pairs of their lightweight no shows, so they were in constant rotation during my weekly workouts – and they’re the ONLY socks I wear to work out because they do not slip around inside my sneakers at all. I figured with the recent KonMari obsession it might be good time to get rid of any not-so-awesome socks in your life and purchase ones that “spark joy!” 🙂

Seed Cycling for Hormone Balance – This is a great summary of seed cycling. Initially, I had great success with seed cycling, and I definitely think it helped with my transition off the pill, BUT it’s not a cure-all for hormonal issues. Basically, the seeds worked until they didn’t. Even still, I think they’re worth a try if you’re experiencing wacky hormones – if anything, you’ll get lots of healthy fats and fiber in your diet! 🙂

Also… hopefully, I don’t get eaten alive for saying this, but I’ve also had some incredible successful with celery juice. I know it’s insane and the guy who started the whole trend is a nut job, talking to sprits and all, but my mood, PMS symptoms, and skin has never been better!

I’ve gotten a lot of questions about my recent celery juice habit, so I’ll share more details in the coming weeks. It’s only been a couple of months, so I want to make sure it’s legit before I write a blog post/make a video about my experience. But, of course, if you have questions in the meantime, please let me know!

FYI: Here’s the juicer that I recently purchased. It’s bad-ass and makes 16 ounces of celery juice in like 15 seconds and the pulp comes out nearly dry because it’s so efficient!

I should also add that I’m still taking CBD daily and using the Liver Detox System a couple of times a week, which I think helps as well, but I’m seeing even more improvements with regard to the symptoms mentioned above, specifically breast tenderness and acne, which I didn’t experience before starting the celery juice.

Questions of the Day

Did you watch either of the Fyre Festival documentaries?

Do you want to learn more about celery juice?

What podcast are you loving right now?

  1. Yes on celery juice! And if you have a rec for the cheapest place to buy? I’m on my second day and organic celery is not cheap :/

  2. Podcast junkie over here! So I’m sort of obsessed with crime podcasts so I’m loving crime junkie and Cold. My brother worked on the COLD case and the lead detective is a very close family friend.

Also I love Dax Shepard’s new podcast Armchair experts.

I’m interested in celery juice. 🙂

  3. I actually don’t think he is a nutjob – yes medical medium fan here…..if so many people are achieving amazing results – maybe something more to it hmm? I’m sure we get called nut jobs for taking pictures of our food and posting it on the interwebs. lol

I too have been loving celery juice for digestive and hormonal issues!

I too have been loving celery juice for digestive and hormonal issues! The only thing I dislike is cleaning the juicer – pain in the butt.

  5. I’m so glad I learned about seed cycling from your blog. It helped me to have a cycle after years of amenorrhea after getting off the pill. Thank you for sharing your experience, you are right it’s definitely not a cure all and people should research it more themselves. But, wow! It changed my life, all the doctors would advise was to go back on the pill to trigger a period, so frustrating!
    Thanks again,
