The Friday 5

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Hi friends, happy Friday!

It’s time for another round of The Friday 5! Today I’m sharing a couple of favorites while I’m on the AIP diet, a fun family game, the new sweatshirt I’m obsessed with, and a kitchen tool that I use all of the time. It’s quite the mix today. You can watch or read The Friday 5 below – have a great weekend!

1. The Autoimmune Protocol Comfort Food Cookbook

Being on the AIP diet is very restrictive, so this cookbook is everything to me right now! I’m making nearly every meal and snack from scratch, so I’m really greatful to have delicious recipes to make. My goal is make every recipe in this book – they have all been incredible so far! There is a mac and cheese recipe, beef and broccoli, waffles, a chicken pot pie – all the comfort food classics, made from AIP ingredients. Now that I’ve purchased several AIP-compliant ingredients to have on hand, I can make my way through the book. If you have an autoimmune disease, or just want to eat healthier, I highly recommend this cookbook!

2. Eat G.A.N.G.S.T.E.R Cookies

Going into th holiday season, I couldn’t imagine doing this AIP diet without holiday cookies! This cookie mix uses all AIP ingredients, and they are so delicious. You just add maple syrup, coconut oil, and mix them right up. If you have someone in your life who is gluten-free, or has allergies, I highly recommend this brand. I’ll be using this mix when we make cookies as a family for 24 Days of Togetherness.

3. Avocado Smash

This is the game we’ve been playing lately with Quinn. We’re all about the board games right now – COVID times, hanging out at home this winter – they keep us occupied. Avocado Smash is kind of like Uno, but it’s a little more action-packed (you have to yell “guacamole!”). This would be a great stocking stuffer; it’s a great game for all ages!

4. Fullstar Vegetable Chopper

I’ve talked about this kitchen tool before, but it’s a meal prep game-changer, so I have to mention it again. We use this chopper in our kitchen all of the time. It makes rectangle shapes when you chop vegetables; Quinn actually requests rectangle potatoes now. And since he’s a bit of a picky eater, we oblige! We use this for everything: peppers, onions, potatoes, apples, carrots, you name it! If you’re doing meal prep, you can plow through it with this kitchen gadget. Plus, you can throw it in the dishwasher. It makes cooking 10x easier! Find it on Amazon – linked here!

5. Ojai Hoodie

A new hoodie! The last thing I needed was another hoodie, but I couldn’t resist this one from Stitch Fix. It’s the brand Velvet, and it is so soft. It’s a little bit cropped, and I just love the color. You can wear with jeans, and I love to pair it with a pair of dark grey leggings and tennis shoes. It’s perfect for running errands or hanging out. This will definitely be a hoodie I have for years!
