The Final Adventure

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

What a weekend. I can’t believe HLS is over just like that. It happened so fast! I also can’t believe that my 9-day adventure is coming to end– just one more event this evening.

After having a little too much fun last night, an early-morning wake-up call was not at all enjoyable. I rolled out of bed, quickly (and, hopefully, quietly”” sorry, Kath!) packed up my things, and grabbed a cab to the train station.

After missing the Bolt Bus a few weeks ago, I’m paranoid about being on time, so I gave myself plenty of time this morning. I actually probably gave myself too much extra time because the train station was completely empty when I arrived. I’m a freak.

My train didn’t depart for more than an hour, so I just hung out. Better safe than sorry, right? To pass the time, I did some reading (Real Simple), tweeting (#HLS), and eating (breakfast).

Most of this morning’s breakfast came straight from my HLS bag: Oh! Nuts dried fruit & nuts, Quaker Oatmeal Squares, and an iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts.

On the train, I did some blogging and then slept for a little bit to kill some time. (The regional train from Philly to Boston is 6 hours. Isn’t that nuts?! I’ll definitely fly next time!)

I also did some snacking:

Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips = amazingly cheesy & tasty.

Go Free Dark Chocolate Trail Mix bar = sounds delicious, but not.

Six long hours later, I arrived safe and sound at South Station.

Mal and Murph picked me up and drove me home. I was so happy to see them!

At home, I unpacked while Mal picked up a pepperoni and cheese calzone from the pizza shop down the street for us to share for lunch. I also chugged a ton of water. I barely drank any on the train because I didn’t want to pee a zillion times.

I can’t believe Mal and I have a wedding to attend tonight. I feel like this:

But, I know I need to rally. Maybe a bunch of espresso shots will help?

  1. Last night, and the entire weekend, was so much fun! I’m glad this weekend’s pictures are better than our last visit. You always have a comfy sofa bed in NYC! 🙂

  2. Have fun at the wedding! I’m sure you’ll get a second wind after seeing all the festivities, plus you guys can always duck out early if you’re too tired. I definitely have mastered the sneaky exit 😉

  3. I’m the same paranoid way when I travel—I always want to get to the bus/train station or airport WAY before my bus/train/plane leaves. I’d much rather sit and read and relax than be freaking out about getting there in time! I’ve had one “run to the terminal to board the plane” experience, and I’d prefer that it was my last ; )

    Have fun tonight!

  4. I also don’t drink a lot of water when I am out and about and traveling because I don’t want to pack up all my things and go pee!

  5. Wow I can’t believe you have to go to a wedding such a crazy weekend! I hope you can wake up 🙂 I always bring my computer and a dvd on the train, that passes the time well!

  6. Where do you find the energy!? Seriously!??

I probably would have gotten to the train station early too! Otherwise I’d be an anxiety ball waiting to explode! I hate being late!

  7. It was so nice to finally meet you this weekend Tina! You are just as sweet as I knew you would be. Bummer you missed the festivities this morning. I am still stuck at the Philly airport. bleh!

  8. I used to love taking the train when I was younger! We used to go from DC to Florida!! I would take forever, but I was super young and adorable so my mom said I liked all the attention I got from other people. haha.

  9. Tina,

It was so nice to meet you this weekend at HLS. I feel for you that you had a wedding tonight-holy cow! I don’t know how you’re doing that?!!?? Murphy’s face said it all! What a cutie!!

Hope you can relax a little tomorrow.

  10. Just reading about the past few weeks of your life has made me tired!! I give you a ton of credit for making it this far! Haha.

Have so much fun at the wedding – hope you’re able to rally!

  11. Even though plane flights are shorter, I’m wicked excited about taking the Amtrak down to DC next month. I’ve never take a train in the US before. Adventure awaits!

Hope you’ll have some time to unwind after your whirlwind trip(s)! 🙂

  12. That picture of Mal and Murph is just too adorable…haha. Love it! 😀

There truly is no better place than home, especially after a long trip. Glad you had fun…I can’t wait to go to the summit one of these years! 😀
