Hi, guys! Happy Monday!

We had quite the eventful weekend on the South Shore. We lost power for a few hours on Friday night because of the storm, but, luckily, it came back on before we all went to bed. We were VERY lucky because tons of people, including some of our friends, are STILL without power. We definitely thanked our lucky stars and offered our home for showering, charging, and whatever else was needed. What a crazy few days for the South Shore. Hopefully, everything will be restored soon enough.

Qman was up and at ’em at 5:30 AM on Saturday morning. I actually went to bed at 8:00 PM the night before, so waking up at that hour wasn’t bad at all. (Mental note: I really should start going to bed earlier.) We snuggled on the couch, played, and then made pancakes for Dada.

After breakfast, one of our neighbors called to tell us that one of our packages ended up at his house during the storm. It was my new book: Food: What the Heck Should I Eat. It was a little wet and the pages were wrinkly, but definitely read-able. I started it last night, and it’s soooo good! I skipped ahead real quick to the “Pagan” diet and supplements that Dr. Hyman recommends at the end, and I’m happy to see that I’m already implementing a lot of his suggestions. But, of course, there’s always room for improvement, so I’m excited to really get into his book. He explains each food group in detail – the research, why it’s confusing, and then what you should eat.

Saturday night, we headed to our friends’ house for a family dinner and game night.

Of course, there were was plenty of shenanigans.

And lots of laughs!! This What Do You Meme game was hysterical. It reminded me a lot of Cards Against Humanity, but with memes. So friggin’ funny!

We headed home early on Sunday morning. We needed groceries and most stores on the South Shore were closed, picked clean, or just plain crazy, so we opted to shop near our friends’ house.

As soon as we got home, I hoped in my car to drive down to Mirbeau for brunch and a spa day with my girlfriends. We planned it months ago, but it seemed like a lot of South Shore and Cape people opted for a getaway (the resort had power) because it was so busy. It was such an incredible day with friends, and I can’t wait to do it again with them! 🙂
