Heyyyyyy! Happy Day-Before-Halloween!

A little recap of yesterday…

Quinn woke up at 4:00 AM and then would not go back to sleep. Whomp whomp. For the past week or so, he was sleeping 7-9 hours, rocking the 3:30 AM feeding, and then sleeping until 6:00/7:00 AM, which was awesome, but then he switched things up on us. It was a rough morning and he just cried and cried and cried, so after I ate breakfast, I took him for a drive in the car. He fell asleep in like 60 seconds.

When we returned from our early-morning adventure, Quinn was in a much better mood. I fed him and then we headed out to meet Kerrie at Southfield for a 3-mile run with the jogging stroller. We took turns running with the stroller, and it was a great workout. No UC issues at all!

When I ran with Kerrie a couple of weeks ago at Southfield, she powered up one of the bigger hills at the end of our run without any issues and she had never even run with a stroller before, so I really wanted to tackle that same hill yesterday. I took it slow and steady while Kerrie offered some words of encouragement, and I did it! I didn’t stop once to walk! First time ever. It was such a great feeling.

After our run, I said goodbye to Kerrie and hit up 1st Stop for a pumpkin spice iced coffee. When I got home, I immediately made myself second breakfast: toast with a fried egg and Light Creamy Swiss from The Laughing Cow.

Quinn cried and cried and cried for the rest of the morning. I tried all of my usual tricks to get him to calm down with no luck. He wouldn’t nap and he was so overtired, I eventually took him out in the jogging stroller again and he fell right to sleep. It’s funny how things can change so much from day-to-day with a little one. On Tuesday, Quinn went down for all of his naps (in his crib even!) without an issues, but then yesterday, he fought every single one. *Sigh*

When we got home, I was famished. Luckily, I had some leftover baked mac & cheese that I made for a post on Health.com. (It’ll be published next week!) It’s made with a delicious trifecta of cheeses (Parmesan, cheddar, and Light Creamy Swiss from The Laughing Cow), and it is soooooooooooooo good. I’ve made it twice already, and I was pumped that I had some ready to reheat when I got home. I housed it.

After that, I ate some butternut squash soup.

And then I made a batch of cookies, which, of course, I needed to sample. (Recipe on CNC soon!)

When Mal got home from school, we went for a “family walk,” which was a nice way to end such a frustrating, emotional, and exhausting day. Quinn was still pretty cranky in the early evening, but we gave him a bath, fed him, and he went right to sleep. What a day. #wineme
