Happy New Years Eve!! I hope you have some fun plans this evening to ring in 2011!
Classic photo of us.
Tonight, Mal and I are going out to dinner together and then celebrating the new year at a friend’s house party, where I will not play flip cup with champagne.
Breakfast
This morning, Mal and I had our final training run with our TNT team. The majority of our team is running the Disney Marathon & Half Marathon next weekend, so Mal and I will do our last long run by ourselves next weekend.
Before meeting everyone, I fueled-up with peanut butter and banana on a toasted waffle.
We were completely out of bread-like foods (i.e. sliced bread, frozen waffles, English muffins, Sandwich Thins), so I added some Peanut Butter Puffins to breakfast.
After breakfast, Mal and I drove to South Boston to meet our team. Our coach explained the route and we headed right out.
We started today’s run like many others: D Street to South Station to Boston Common.
But, instead of running by the Charles River, we continued on Beacon Street.
I love that many of the homes were still decorated for the holidays!
Around Mile 4, we reached Kenmore Square.
At Kenmore, the Disney folks turned around and headed back to the store, but Mal and I continued down Comm Ave. until we hit Pleasant Street.
At Pleasant Street, we turned around and ran back to the store. It was 5 miles each way.
- Mile 1: 9:14
- Mile 2: 9:19
- Mile 3: 9:08
- Mile 4: 9:17
- Mile 5: 9:38 <— Gu
- Mile 6: 9:28
- Mile 7: 9:13
- Mile 8: 9:19
- Mile 9: 8:44 <— Taylor Swift
- Mile 10: 9:08
Total: 1:32:33
Evan was totally right about Taylor Swift. (He tweeted me a bunch of song recommendations last night.) Taylor’s music is awesome for running! I cruised on Mile 9 when her song came on my iPod! 😀
Lunch
At home, I refueled with a big bowl of Greek yogurt with quiona and fresh raspberries mixed in. Greek yogurt + quiona = fantastic combo.
I also drank an iced coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts.
Happy New Year’s Eve!!!
