Thanks for everyone’s comments about the possibility of me running a marathon in the coming months. I really appreciate the variety of opinions and experiences that you guys shared. It definitely gave me a lot to consider.

For now, I’ve decided to take things slow with my marathon goal. I’m not going to register for a marathon or jump right into training anytime soon. Instead, I’m going to increase my weekly milage and see how my hip holds up. Right now, I’m running 3-6 miles at a time with no pain, so hopefully, I can increase this in the coming weeks. If all goes well, I want to run a half marathon at the end of June. And, if that goes well, I’ll start thinking about running a full marathon.

As much as I want to accomplish one of my life goals, it’s not worth it to me to run one 26.2 mile race with the possibility of injuring myself and never being able to run without pain again. I love running too much to risk it all. I’d rather be able to run 5 miles whenever I want for the rest of my life than injure myself for one goal, ya know? But, anything can happen! Maybe running 13.1 miles without pain will be the motivation and confidence that I need to complete a full marathon? We’ll just have to see! 😉

Snack

After work, I came home and snacked on a Sandwich Thin with peanut butter and raisins. After eating such a light lunch, I wanted something with some serious staying-power. Peanut butter just feels like it sticks to my ribs!

A little while later, I enjoyed one of my Blueberry Coconut Bars. They’re just so good, I couldn’t stay away! 😳

Dinner

I wasn’t in the mood to cook tonight, so I kept dinner simple. I had a Dr. Praeger’s veggie burger with buffalo sauce and a big ol’ serving of roasted broccoli on the side.

Mmm… what a lovely piece of broccoli! 😉

Tonight’s dinner might seem a little dull, but it was just what I wanted!

Mal and I have a hot date with our DVR. We have a lot of catching up to do! Oh, I am definitely going to have another one of those Blueberry Coconut Bars while I veg out on the couch! 😉

Enjoy the evening, folks!

P.S. Kristine’s auction for the VIP Boston Marathon tickets was supposed to end tomorrow, but she is extending the deadline to Monday. Be sure to get your bid in!
