Hello, hello! Yesterday afternoon, Murphy and I went to the nearby senior home to make some pug visits. We hadn’t been in a couple of weeks, so everyone was especially excited to see us him. I mean, his pug face is ridiculously adorable after all. Speaking of therapy dogs, this story will melt your heart: Little Dog Does A Big Job In Oregon. (P.S. I want to own every pug ever.) Snacks After visiting, I…

Good morning! This short week is sure flying by, huh? I can’t believe today is Thursday, and I’m off to Annapolis tomorrow morning for the ZOOMA race! Breakfast I started this morning with a breakfast blast from the past: Two-Ingredient Pancake. I haven’t had one of these babies in ages. I added chia seeds to the mix and topped it with peanut butter. It was as delicious as I remembered it! Health News & Views…

Hi, friends! 😎 After taking a class at the BARREroom yesterday morning, I ran some errands (reminder: Mother’s Day is next weekend) and then headed home for lunch. Lunch It was a beautiful day, so I decided to eat my lunch outside on our back porch. Of course, the pug joined me outside. Doesn’t he look super buff and muscular in the photo below? It must be all of that CrossFit Dogs he does at…

Goooooood morning to you! I hope your day is off to a fabulous start!  So, this blog post is all over the place with all sorts of topics and randomness, but, hey, it might be kind of fun, right? Here we go. Snack I had a running date with Kerrie at 11:00 yesterday, so I made myself a snack beforehand. I was starting to get a little hungry, and I can’t exercise on an empty…

Good morning, friends! I woke up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed this morning. I have no idea why because I stayed up later than usual last night watching American Idol (how amazing are the ladies!?), but I just went with it and got a ton accomplished early this morning. I love knocking things off of my To Do list like that! Breakfast This morning’s breakfast was an egg and cheese sandwich on a toasted, gluten-free English muffin…

I survived my colonoscopy with flying colors! Hooray! Seriously, it was a piece of cake. The prep and (especially) not eating were definitely the hardest parts. The actual procedure was over and done with before I knew it. Piece of cake. My doctor talked to me briefly after the colonoscopy and, good news, he said he only saw a little bit of inflammation. The bad news is, however, the steroids I’ve been taking for the past few…

Good morning! A huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the Twitter chat with Wayfair yesterday. I appreciate so many of you coming out for it. I hope you had fun! So, do you want to hear what woke me up this morning? Mal riffling through our bed looking for his wallet. I bet you’re wondering why his wallet was in our bed this morning. Oh, because he was a tad excited late last…

Hello, hello! I can’t believe it’s already Thursday. This week is flying by for me! I hope it’s flying by for you too! Breakfast I started my day with Greek yogurt mixed with Paleo “granola” and blueberries. I didn’t think anything other than a crapload of nut butter would fill me up and hold me over until lunch, but Greek yogurt seems to be doing the trick. After breakfast, I took Murphy outside for a…

Good afternoon! I hope you’re enjoying a lovely Thursday! Lunch Today’s lunch didn’t look pretty, but, dang, it was delicious. In the mix: mashed potatoes, pesto, ground beef, chopped asparagus, and steamed spinach. They were all leftovers, so I just nuked them in the microwave and then mixed them all together. It was SO good! After lunch, I ate some dates and a few bites of Nikki’s Coconut Butter. Three Questions Thursday Three Questions Thursday…

Another home improvement project? Ooh, yes! Listen to what happened this morning: [over breakfast] T: We should probably decide on a vanity and toilet today, so we’re all set to go this weekend. M: Yea, I agree. We’ll go pick them out after we eat breakfast. T: Hey, actually, what am I supposed to do for the bathroom? It seems like you and Rob have it under control. M: Yea, I don’t think we’ll really…

Good morning, friends! So, something awesome happened last night: I deadlifted 200 pounds! Woohoo! For those of you who CrossFit, 200 pounds isn’t all that impressive, but, for me, it was pretty darn cool, especially since I increased my deadlift weight by almost a third! My previous 1 rep max was 155 pounds, so that’s a 45-pound increase! Crazy, right? I’m still impressed with myself. I honestly didn’t think I had it in me. Last…

Good morning, friends! Happy Thursday to you! I hope your day is off to a better start than Murphy‘s! I guess he wasn’t feelin’ it this morning. Poor little pug. His life is so hard. Breakfast This morning’s breakfast was “Oatmeal” Minus the Oats and a glass of iced coffee with almond milk. You’d think I’d get sick of this breakfast by now, but I haven’t for some reason. It might have something to do…

After breakfast this morning, I headed out to tackle a speed workout for my half marathon training. Sadly, it never happened. As I started out on my run, my hamstrings felt really tight, like an almost painful soreness. Usually, a mile warm-up and some stretching loosens me right up, and I’m good to go, but no matter what I did this morning, my hamstrings just hurt. I even felt a weird sharp pain a couple…

Good morning! One month from today, Mal and I will be on vacation! We’re taking a week-long cruise with friends to Cozumel, Belize, Honduras, and the Cayman Islands. Woohoo! I imagine our time on the cruise will look something like this: And this: And probably this: Anyway, we’re psyched and cannot wait! I’m planning to take a true vacation and not blog at all on the cruise, but I also don’t want to leave CNC…

I tried a fun new product in my iced coffee this morning: SōL, a sunflower beverage. Sunflower? Yep! SōL is made from sunflower kernels. Cool, right? I thought so, which is why I wanted to try it out. The folks at SōL offered to send me a free sample, and I happily accepted. As you know, I drink soy milk in my iced coffee every morning. I’ve tried all sorts of “milk alternatives” over the…
