Hi, guys! We had quite the fun time on Friday night… and it was totally impromptu! I didn’t feel like cooking, so we decided to take the whole family out to dinner at the Hingham Shipyard. We took Murphy to dinner at Trident last year and had such a great time together, we decided to do it again. It was basically a dog-friendly Friday night on the South Shore. Woohoo! Trident has an outdoor patio…

I just wanted to jump on here and tell you about our trip to Stowe, Vermont!  We stayed at the Lodge at Spruce Peak (formerly Stowe Mountain Lodge). It’s an amazing place, and we’ve actually vacationed at the lodge during the last three summers. The PR person there is wonderful, and we’ve been friends for a while now, so when she invited our family for another visit, of course, we said yes! With that here’s a…

Mal and I were up and at ’em yesterday morning. We each wanted to squeeze in a quick workout before a day at Duxbury Beach. Unfortunately, our workouts weren’t quick enough because when we arrived at 7:45 AM, non-resident was at capacity. Whomp whomp. We were bummed, but we made the best of our drive to Duxbury by stopping at Coffee Shack (in Marshfield) on the way home. Butterscotch iced coffee? Yes, please! I was…

Hi, guys! Happy Tuesday! It is HOT here… like really hot… like holy heat wave hot. I’m working from my home office right now, but I might need a change of scenery and air conditioning soon! This morning, I was up and at ’em working before my boys woke up – well, besides Murphy, who hops out of bed as soon as I am a wake because: food potential. The dog is always on top…

Hi, guys! We had a fun day trip to Osterville on Cape Cod yesterday. Our friends Marisa and Jeff and their daughter rented a house for the week and invited us down to hang out, and it was definitely a good time! Before we hit the road, I fueled up with a tasty breakfast. It was a piece of Potato and Black Bean Enchilada Casserole (I still need to share the recipe with you guys!)…

Hi, guys! Happy Monday! I can’t believe another summer weekend is over just like that! I feel like it was just Friday evening and we were heading to the beach to kick it off. Holy cow, time flies when you’re having fun! 🙂 Our little family headed to the beach on Friday evening. Mal was away all week, so we were all itching for some quality time together. We even brought Murphy with us! Murphy…

Around here, summer is an all out sprint – trying to cram every last bit of fun into a few short months. The winters are long, so when the nice weather arrives, everyone is out and about taking full advantage. It’s totally crazy at times, but I wouldn’t want it any other way! 🙂 That said, here’s a recap of our most recent summer weekend! Saturday We’ve been on fire this summer, so Saturday was…

Hi, guys! After being away for 10 days (Seattle —> Oregon), the start of this week has been a bit hectic with regard to catching up on work, life, and everything else. I’ve basically been glued to my laptop and running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Blahhhh. So, when Mal came home (he was golfing) with Quinn yesterday afternoon and told me to throw on my bathing suit because we were…

Quinn and I had quite the fun morning at the beach yesterday! And we didn’t get stuck in the sand, so it was a definitely a WIN for us! More on this in a second… My day kicked off with a tasting plate full of veggies, lentils, and a scoop of a new Jalapeno Lime Almond Dip from Trader Joe’s, which added some serious flavor and heat! And I love that the ingredients are super…

Hi, guys! Now that Memorial Day is behind us and warm weather, summer vacation, and everything that goes along with these fun times is on our minds, I wanted to share some of the things I do to keep myself on track during the summer. I’m alllllll about having a good time and enjoying myself – but without going off the rails! It’s so, so, so easy to get wrapped up in the summertime fun…

Hi, guys! I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! Ours was SO FUN – and it made me even MORE excited for summer on the South Shore. Have I mentioned we’re never leaving? It’s funny… when we first moved south of Boston, I was so resistant. I couldn’t imagine not living in the city, and I thought the suburbs were so far from life conveniences and things to do. Now, I know I…

Hi, friends! Hooray! It’s finally starting to feel like summer is on the way! It’s about time since we had such a longgggg, cold winter, and I am desperately in need of sunshine! 🙂 Last weekend, I was having major flashbacks to Mal and my amazing WODs and Paleo Retreat that we took a few years ago. We have SUCH great memories from that trip! After sweating it out most of the day, we spent a…

The other day, temps hit nearly 80 degrees here in Massachusetts and they’re projected to climb that high again today, so I’m super excited that summer is right around the corner. We have a beach sticker, and I know we’re going to spend a lot of time there in the coming months. Let’s just say there’s going to be a lot of long hours of fun in the sun! Speaking of which, restocking our sunblock…

Heyyyyy, friends! I hope you had a nice long weekend. Mal is back to school today, so we’re all getting back into the swing of things, which I *think* I’m happy about. I was all about getting back into a routine and having life slow down a bit, but now I’m feeling a little sad that summer vacation is officially over for us. I mean, it was really fun! 🙂 Anyway, here’s a recap of our…

Rise ‘n’ shine, it’s breakfast time! I tried out a new “recipe” yesterday morning as a way to incorporate pumpkin seeds into my day. (I’m onto Phase 2 of Kelli’s seed cycling protocol.) In the mix: Sliced banana, collagen, pumpkin seeds, sunflower butter, and almond milk. I envisioned a cereal-like breakfast, but it didn’t quite do the trick. It definitely needed something more, so I ended up adding a handful of Pumpkin Spice Cheerios halfway…
