Hey guys, welcome to next next addition of Carrots ‘N’ Cake Instagram Live. This is a special episode as I partnered with the AGA on their IBD Parenthood Project. If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ve probably noticed that I have partnered with them for about a year on different projects. It is such a great resource for moms with IBD, before, during, and after pregnancy. I had so many questions related to…

Hi, friends! Happy Monday to you! 🙂 I’m a little behind with “day in the life” blogging, but I’m planning to catch up today and tomorrow – starting with a wonderful Quinn and Mumma day last Friday. The fun kicked off at Goldfish for Quinn’s weekly swimming lesson. His usual instructor wasn’t there (and he lovvvveess her), so he was pretty nervous swimming with someone new. The staff at Goldfish were so sweet to him…

I’ve partnered with the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) to bring you this blog post. Read on to learn more about a new resource that was just launched to help women navigate IBD and pregnancy. I think all of us moms can agree that motherhood (especially new motherhood) can be one of the craziest rollercoaster rides that we’ll ever experience. While it’s a time of true joy as you bring your little one into this world and…

I’ve partnered with the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) to bring you this blog post. Read on to learn more about a new resource that was just launched to help women navigate IBD and pregnancy. At the end of my pregnancy, I started to have a few flare symptoms related to my ulcerative colitis diagnosis. They were fairly minor to start, but got worse and worse as the weeks progressed. My GI doctor put me on a…

Read on to learn more about a new resource that was just launched today to help women navigate IBD and pregnancy. Until my early 30s, I wasn’t really a “kid person.” I never really played with dolls as a kid. I didn’t babysit younger siblings or cousins. And, honestly, I had very little interest in other people’s kids. When Mal and I…

Hello! Just wanted to share some of my very favorite items (the best of the best) from my pregnancy! {from top left} Moving Comfort Maia Bra: My boobs grew like crazy during my pregnancy, so I needed sports bras that were really supportive to keep up with me during CrossFit and running. The Maia bra was my go-to. Rainbow Light Prenatal One Vitamins: I took these prenatal vitamins before I got pregnant and all through my…

Good morning! Here’s another pregnancy update! We’re moving right along, and it seems like these middle weeks are flying by faster and faster! CRAVINGS Apples! Specifically organic Gala apples from Whole Foods. I honestly can’t stop eating them. I pretty much eat one per day, but sometimes I’ll eat two or three! An apple a day keeps the doctor away? No other specific cravings. I actually feel like my pre-pregnancy self with regard to eating and…

I’m halfway there! I can’t believe I just finished my 20th week of pregnancy. It’s crazy how quickly time is flying by! CRAVINGS Egg sandwiches (ALL THE TIME – seriously, it’s ridiculous), smoothies, green juice, fresh fruit (I’ve been into apples lately), yogurt with granola, ketchup on everything. AVERSIONS Same as before, but no new ones! OTHER SYMPTOMS Frequent urination: Not exaggerating, I’m probably peeing 20 times per day/night. I’m drinking a lot of water, but…

There’s no hiding my baby bump this week! I think I’ve finally popped? Popped-ish? CRAVINGS Egg sandwiches, toasted English muffins with nut butter, smoothies, green juice, fresh fruit (especially clementines and pineapple), yogurt, ketchup on everything, white wine. (Side note: I tried alcohol-free wine. Eh. Not a fan. However, alcohol-free champagne + orange juice tastes just like a real mimosa!) AVERSIONS Same as before, but no new ones. Thank goodness! OTHER SYMPTOMS Frequent urination: I’m…

I am so excited to write this recap. I can’t believe my first trimester is over, and I’m already midway through week 16. Crazy. Time flies! Ok, let’s get right to it. First things first: belly pics! BELLY PICS I actually didn’t start taking belly pics until my first trimester was almost over because not much was happening in that department. My boobs grew like crazy (seriously, when are they going to stop?), but my…
