Good morning and happy, happy, happy Monday to you! Mal and I had a great time in New York City, but it was definitely a quick trip. We arrived in the Big Apple pretty late on Friday night and then headed home first thing Sunday morning, so our whole NYC weekend was over before we knew it. Even still, it was a nice little getaway and who knows how many of these we will have…

Yesterday started bright and early once again with a run in Central Park with Monica. We ran 3 miles together, but then I called it quits. I just didn’t have a ton of energy and felt blah, so I headed back to the hotel while Monica continued on for a few more miles. Breakfast On my walk back to the hotel, I stopped by Starbucks where I bought an egg white and spinach wrap, banana,…

Yesterday, I was invited to an amazing wine and cheese tasting event called “Rinds & Vines,” which was hosted by Whole Foods Market. I absolutely love wine and cheese””I mean, it would be my last meal on earth””so I, of course, was in heaven. The tasting event featured a number of the sustainable cheeses that Whole Foods carries in their stores, and, boy, was I in for a special treat””not only because I got to…

Hi, friends! My day started bright and early with a knock on my hotel room door from Monica, who arrived on a red-eye flight from California just 30 minutes earlier. I thought she might want to sleep after a long cross country flight, but she rallied for an early morning run. Monica said running helps her get back on schedule, so we put on our running gear and headed out for a run. Workout We…

Rise and shine, it’s time for yoga with Martha Stewart! My day started bright and early at Theodora‘s apartment. We were both invited to a yoga event with Martha Stewart this morning, so I spent the night on her couch (Theodora’s not Martha’s) last night. At 6:30 AM, we hopped in a cab to Grand Central Station for the event. Before the yoga class started, Martha came out and started snapping pictures of the event with…

Good morning! Happy Friday! Last night’s New York City adventures started with appetizers and drinks at The Long Room. Strike a pose, Theodora! Theodora and I met a bunch of her friends there before the concert. Everyone ordered wine (I stuck with water) and then we shared a few appetizers among the table. I ate a couple of sliders (minus the bun) and some raw veggies. I sort of wanted to order more food, but…

What a cool event! Thank you so much for inviting me, Reebok and Fitfluential! Last Thursday, I had the pleasure of attending the opening of Reebok’s new Fit Hub concept store in New York City. The Fit Hub was designed to inspire people to move, train, get fit and have fun while doing it. The Reebok store is located right above CrossFit Fifth Ave, a 10,000 square foot CrossFit box. (Just to give you an…

I’m on my way to New York City once again (and surprise, surprise it just started to rain. Was rain even in the forecast for today?! Wtf.) This time I’m visiting for a sweeeeeet Reebok event!  (Even though I’m only away from home for 1.5 days, it was still a little sad to say goodbye to Murph ”˜N’ Mal this morning. I’ll miss their adorable faces.) Today, Reebok is opening their first U.S. Reebok Fit…

What a cool event! Fitness did an awesome job with the Blogger Meet & Tweet! I’m so glad I had the opportunity to attend. The event was held at the Metropolitan Suite in the Chelsea/Flatiron area of New York City. Theodora got her tweet on! Ahhh! Speaker badge! So cool! When we arrived, everyone was given a “passport” and encouraged to visit each of the event’s sponsors. We were told once we completed it, we’d…

Rise and shine, it’s bootcamp time! This morning, Theodora invited Anne and me to attend a class at the indoor bootcamp that she regularly goes to. The instructor, Jasmine, kindly let us take the class for free this morning. Thank you, Jasmine! The class was 45 minutes and really efficient. We got a full body workout and the use of kettlebells, Glides, Bender Balls, steps, and other equipment really maximized the workout and pushed us…

Hi, friends! Around 3:00 this afternoon, I arrived safe and sound at Penn Station and then headed directly to my hotel for my stay in New York City. It was less than a mile away, so I hoofed it instead of taking a cab. I love hotels, so here are some photos of my room (aka the special place)! Nice, right? The wonderful folks from Fitfluential and Fitness magazine invited me to speak on a…

Hi, friends! I started my day with a fabulously sweaty workout with celebrity trainer, Harley Pasternak. Not a bad way to kick-off a Thursday, right? Harley recently partnered with New Balance to create his own sneaker, the limited edition 5 Factor 997, so he and New Balance hosted a launch event/workout this morning to celebrate its debut. Don’t you love the colors of the 997? The picture below is the unisex style of the shoe….

Greetings from New York City! I arrived at Penn Station just before 1:00 PM, and then I hoofed it about a mile (luggage and all) to my hotel. From door-to-door, the trip was quick and painless. So, I bet you’re wondering what I’m doing in NYC for the next few days? Remember that behind-the-scenes Food Network video that I filmed at Rialto with Jody Adams? It was part of the California Grapes video challenge, which…

Wow. What a crazy-awesome day. Never in a million years did I think I’d end up on television for a batch of healthy cookies that I baked. I love how random/unpredictable my life is sometimes. Hey, I’m just going with it! 😉 Yesterday morning, Theodora and I dressed in our holiday best, freaked out with nervous excitement, and then got picked up in a car to appear on The Dr. Oz Show. On Monday, one of…

Sit back and relax. This post is going to be a long one. Mal and I eventually made it to New York City around 2:30 on Saturday afternoon. We quickly checked into our hotel room and then jumped in a cab to the marathon expo. The expo was crazy and overwhelming (as expected), so I grabbed my number, bought a NYCM tech shirt, and got the heck out of there. I usually like wandering around…
