Hi, friends! When we visited Vermont earlier this month, we stayed at the The Comfort Inn & Suites(R) hotel in South Burlington. We had a wonderful time exploring the city, but what we loved most about our trip was spending time with our friends who live nearby. We typically stay in touch via social media and text messages, so it was really nice connecting with them in person. Our little family arrived in Burlington on Friday evening. We were warmly welcomed by…

Good morning! Happy Tuesday! I woke up bright and early to meet Kerrie for a track workout this morning. My half marathon training plan had a speed workout on it for today, so we decided to tackle it: 2 mi up, 2 x 200m (:45), 2 x 800 (3:40), 1 x 1600 (8:10) –> full recovery between sets, 1 mi down Unfortunately, I didn’t last very long. I only made it through the 200s before my…

Fitbloggin’ hasn’t even started yet, but I’m already having a fabulous time in Portland! Once my flight landed in Portland this morning, I hopped on a shuttle to my hotel for the next few nights. The Nines is a gorgeous hotel in the heart of downtown, and it’s the location for the Fitbloggin’ conference. I love its modern, elegant décor. Check out my room! So pretty! Lunch Once I got settled in my room, I…

For the second part of our trip, the Oahu Visitor’s Bureau arranged a 3-night stay at the Embassy Suites Waikiki Beach Walk for Mal and me. We both really loved this hotel and would definitely stay there if we visited Oahu again. Price-wise, the Embassy Suites Waikiki Beach is a little more expensive than other hotels in the area, but you get so much included with your stay. It definitely pays for itself in the…

After our hike at Diamond Head and breakfast at Bogart’s, Mal and I headed back to the hotel. I blogged while Mal went to buy a new pair of sunglasses. He forgot his at home, so, thankfully, there’s a TON of shopping nearby. A little while later, it was time for me to tour the Hawaii Prince Hotel WaikÄ«kÄ« where Mal and I are staying for the first two nights of our trip. (As I…

I woke up bright and early yesterday morning to get my sweat on. The hotel where I stayed in Des Moines had a pretty nice gym (I actually worked out there the last time I visited), but I decided to do a CrossFit-inspired workout in my hotel room instead. The best thing about creating my own workouts is that I get to pick all of my favorite exercises and make it as hard (or as…

On Saturday, Mal, Murphy, and I spent a lovely evening at Hotel Marlowe. The folks from Kimpton Hotels invited the three of us for a complimentary stay. I love hotels, so when Kimpton invited me along with Murphy, I was all about it. I love doing fun things with the pug! Mal, Murphy, and I arrived at Hotel Marlow just after 4:00 PM on Saturday afternoon and then checked into our room for the night,…

Greetings from the Big Apple! 😎 I arrived safe and sound yesterday afternoon in New York City and immediately headed straight to Eventi, a fancy-schmancy Chelsea hotel near the New York theater district. If you’re a long-time reader of CNC, you know just how much I love hotels. I’m actually sort of obsessed. (You can see all of my hotel reviews here.) My hotel for the weekend was no different! It’s gorgeous, fun, and everything…

Good morning! I ended up staying up so late last night. Well, it was late for me! 😉 I finally got into bed well past midnight. My friend, Matt, and I met at The Hudson Bar to have a drink, celebrate his birthday, and catch up. We had a great time chatting, but we ended up hanging out way past by bedtime. Needless to say, my 7:00 am wake-up call came much sooner than expected!…
