Heyyyyyyy! Happy weekend, friends! I slept for almost 12 hours last night, which is both insane and awesome, so I woke up bright and early this morning and ready to start the day. Carpe diem! Breakfast I was really hungry when I woke up, so I immediately headed to the kitchen to make breakfast, but, unfortunately, we didn’t really have any food in the house. (I’m pretty sure Mal ate a lot of take-out when…

Hi, friends! How’s your day going so far? Murphy and I just got back from a lovely trip to the dog park. It was such a beautiful morning, I just had to take him. I knew he’d appreciate running around and stretching his little pug legs””and, of course, sniffing and peeing on all sorts of new things, so we went for a ride in the car to the park. Murphy and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves…

On Friday evening, I ran the End of Summer Classic hosted by Marathon Sports. The race was held at Bare Cove Park in Hingham (aka the “dog park” where we take Murphy all the time), and the event offered both a 3-mile and 5-mile option. I ran the 5-miler and picked up my bib right before the race. I waited in line maybe 30 seconds and everything went really smoothly: I got my bib, safety…

Question of the Day What was the BEST thing you ate yesterday?  Mine was a toss up between the wasabi hummus and the stone ground chocolate. Mmm! Loved them both!

Happy Friday, friends!!!  Question of the Day What’s on the agenda for your Friday? P.S. Be sure to enter my giveaway to win a $100 gift card to City Sports! I’ll pick a winner on Monday.

On Sunday morning, I participated in the Run for Charlotte, a 5K and 10K road race in honor of 5-year-old Charlotte Rose Kelly, who lost her battle with neuroblastoma in December 2011. From the Prayers from Charlotte website: Neuroblastoma is an aggressive form of cancer associated with the nerve cells and adrenal glands. It commonly occurs in infants and very young children. Its cause is unknown. Only 650 new cases are reported in the United…

This morning, Mal picked “share your favorite Christmas memory” for our 24 Days of Togetherness. It was an easy one, so we chatted about it while we ate breakfast. Mine: The year I still believed in Santa and got Nintendo for Christmas. His: Laying at the top of the stairs with his sister and trying to see their presents downstairs near the Christmas tree before their parents woke up. Sharing our favorite Christmas memories over…

Hi, friends! I’m off to Des Moines bright and early tomorrow morning (here’s why), so I’m going to make this post quick. I need to finish packing (why do I always wait until the last minute?!) and get to bed at a reasonable hour. Breakfast I started my day with a two-ingredient pancake, which actually ended up being a 5-ingredient pancake because I added shredded coconut, vanilla extract, and cinnamon to the mix. (I used…

Hello, hello! Apparently, I’m a big fan of this post title because I used it back in December 2008 and then more recently in June with “Super Duper Sunday.” Haha! I’m so creative. Well, it was the perfect way to describe yesterday. Mal, Murphy, and I had a super Sunday! Breakfast I started my day with a Sweet Breakfast Scramble in an almost-empty Teddie peanut butter jar with, of course, an extra scoop because I love nut…

Good morning! Happy Saturday! Murphy and I just got back from a wonderful trip to the dog park. It was a beautiful fall morning for a walk in the park. Breakfast Mal needed to be awake bright and early this morning for Saturday school, so I got up and ate breakfast with him. I had a Sweet Breakfast Scramble (minus the squash/pumpkin) with a scoop of Teddie peanut butter and a TJ’s pumpkin butter. After…

Greetings from Logan International Airport! I’m on my way to Fitbloggin’, so I’m taking advantage of the free Wifi to blog right now. Yay, baby. Breakfast I started my morning with a two-ingredient pancake made with two eggs, one banana, and a big scoop of almond butter for some extra staying power. Travel makes me a hungry gal! After breakfast, I took Murphy to the dog park to run out some of his pent up…

Good morning from a very happy pug!!! Murphy had a blast at the dog park yesterday afternoon. Mal and I did, too! In fact, we enjoyed walking and talking so much, we totally lost track of time and ended up rushing to get ourselves to the 6:00 PM CrossFit class. Thankfully, our box is cool with dogs (the owners have a Dachshund), so we brought Murphy along with us. He hung out while we worked…

Hello, hello! I never enjoyed the cocktail I planned to have last night, so I decided to have one this evening and it’s waiting for me on the back porch right now, which means I am going to whiz right through this post. Hope ya don’t mind! Snack I woke up bright and early this morning to meet my friend Jen for a girls’ date in Cambridge. Before I left the house, I ate a…

It’s so nice to be home. I missed my boys. And my bed. And my food. It’s funny how you enjoy those things so much more when you’ve been away from them for a little while. Because I was traveling and away from my computer for most of last week, I had a lot of catching up to do. So, this morning, I set my alarm for 5:01 AM, rolled out of bed, and got…

Hello! We’ve been having issues with our internet lately and it crapped out again this afternoon, so instead of getting frustrated and waiting for it to come back up, I used the “downtime” to take Murphy to the dog park. He was also sort of driving me crazy, so I figured letting him get out some of his pent-up pug energy would benefit us both. The second I let Murphy off the leash at the…
