CrossFit night out was a lot of fun!Β A group of about twenty people from our box met at King’sΒ where we enjoyed some cocktails, sang some karaoke,Β and got our bowl on. (I bowled an impressive 58.) I had a blast, but I was a bad blogger and only took three photos. Here’s one of them:
Clearly, the CrossFit 781 crew is a fun bunch.
Breakfast
I wasn’t planning to go to CrossFit this morning, but when I checked the WOD online when I woke up, it said it would include a βsurprise ending,βΒ which, of course, intrigued me, so I decided to go.
I wolfed down a couple of waffles with peanut butter spread on top for breakfast.
And then took Murphy for his morning walk before heading to CrossFit.
Workout
Today’s WOD was a partner workout. We started with finding our 1 rep max for Thrusters. I worked my way up to 90 pounds, but my team managed to get 95 pounds. (Yay, Kim!) Then, we each sprinted 800 meters and finished off the workout with “Karen,” which was the surprise ending. “Karen” is 150 Wall Balls, but, thankfully, they were split between partners. (Not the “surprise ending” you were expecting? Me either! Haha!)
WOD:
With a Partner:
1) Thruster: 25 minutes for both of you to find your 1 rep max.
Rest 5 minutes
2) 1 mile run: Both you and your partner will sprint 800 meters for total time.
Score= Total weight/Scoring for 1 mile run time will start at 1000 points for total time of 5:00 and every 10 seconds after that will be less 25 points. Weight total and time total will be your cumulative score.
Rest 5 minutes
3) Surprise Ending =)
Our team ended up doing pretty well. We didn’t have the highest score, but we didn’t have the lowest score either. Our βKarenβΒ time was 5:34, which we were pretty happy with!
Lunch
After CrossFit, I showered up and threw together a salad for lunch. In the mix: greens, tomatoes, green bell pepper, pickles, truffle oil, and a scoop of hummus.
Part two of lunch was a smoothie made with frozen banana, strawberries, chopped kale, and almond milk, vanilla protein powder.
I’m off to run some errands and then Mal and I are meeting up with some friends for sushi this evening.
I hope you’re having a wonderful Saturday!
What’s on your agenda for tonight?
P.S. Be sure to enter my giveaway to win $150! I will pick a winner on Monday morning!

Sounds like a great weekend so far!!! I am headed out with my hubs for a little shopping. I won a Lululemon gift card at my last race expo. There is one about 45 minutes away so we are headed there to spend it and then have a nice date night together!

Haha a “surprise ending” would intrigue me too! I’m about to take my last final of the my second year of law school!!! Soooo close!
Hi Tina. You bowled 58??? I’ve heard the more beer one consumes, the higher one’s bowling score. Not that I’d know first hand. Nope…. π
Tonight? Home with my foot up. I’m recovering from foot surgery earlier in the week, so life is a little dull right now. Oh well, short term pain for long term mobility… AND..should probably let you know, a friend of mine bought me your book as a get well present. I’ve only got through a couple of chapters, but love it. Your writing style is great. Hope you have a fun sushi night tonight.
I know, you’re impressed with my score! π
I hope your foot heals quickly!!!
I love how you hang out with the people that you workout with! That happens all the time at the gym. Gym buddies make for awesome friendships!
I love your blog!! I was wondering what kind of waffles you eat, they always look so yummy! Thanks π
I usually buy Van’s or Stop & Shop brand! π
Haha I thought the surprise ending would be, like, chocolate or something! π
Tonight we’re supposed to go into downtown Atlanta and check out this food truck park. Provided that it doesn’t rain, it should be pretty fun! π
that WOD sounds intense!!! and the smoothie sounds delicious, too!
I’ll be carb-loading, hydrating and resting for my first half marathon tomorrow!
Good luck!! π
Pickles on a salad hey? That’s a new one!
Sounds like a lovely day! Enjoy the rest of it π
Thanks for posting the post–how fun to see that there. I am a nerd, I know! haha!
My good friend is a manager at Kings. I’ve always wanted to go there because I hear it’s a lot of fun. Glad you are having a great weekend!
I am determined to have a margarita tonight! I know it’s cince de mayo and the Mexican places are going to be crazy, but I’m having a mega craving! π
I’ve never put pickles in my salad but I think the brine and texture would taste fantastic. My baby brother loves pickles too!
I think it’s so fantastic that your crossfit group gets together socially too!
Thanks I will pick some up this weekend! I just bought your book and am so excited π
Yay sushi with friends! Hope you had fun!
Sounds like you are having a great weekend! We had some sushi for dinner (love that they offer black rice where we go!) and now relaxing in for the night. Ben has a baseball game early tomorrow morning.
Love that pic of Murphy!
Hi Tina,
I was hoping you would tell me what kind of waffles you eat?
