Stir Crazy

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

It’s been raining for three days straight. Murphy and I are feeling a bit stir crazy.

We took a short walk around the block in the rain, but neither of us enjoyed ourselves. Instead, we worked out some of our energy by running around the house, playing “Pug o’ War,” and pulling the blanket off of the “pug couch.”

Well, Murphy tried to pull the blanket off of the couch, not me.

We also practiced some tricks.

Once we felt a little less stir crazy, Murphy and I settled down on the couch for some Bethenny Getting Married and a glass of red wine. Well, the wine was for me. Bethenny Getting Married was for both of us. I think Murph has a little crush on Cookie! 😉

Wine makes everything better, right? 😉

I poured myself a big glass.

A little while later, my wonderful and amazing husband walked through the door with some goodies to cheer me up. He gave me a bouquet of flowers, a bottle of wine, and a funny card. What a guy!

I especially liked his card. On the outside, it said: “In the great swimming pool of life…” and the inside said: “There’s always going to be a little pee. Hang in there.” Funny, right?! It’s totally a Mal-type of card! He loves his potty humor! 😆

Mal also offered to make us tacos for dinner. It’s Taco Tuesday after all! 😀 He even made the taco seasoning from scratch. Fancy him!

I ate two soft tacos with ground beef, lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese, and buffalo sauce. They definitely hit the spot and went very well with my glass of wine.

I’m spending time with M & m tonight. Enjoy the evening!

  1. I think it’s important to look at the comments as feedback rather than negatives. Tina asked for comments, and she can utilize the feedback to make the blog an enjoyable experience for readers, thus a more effective business venture for her.

  2. Hang in there! I have always loved your blog, and aesthetic updates aren’t really going to change that. What your readers love goes beyond that – your pictures, recipes, writing, and most importantly, your personality. Have a great night!

  3. Tina you have such a sweet, amazing, supportive husband! What he did was just so adorable and Murphy is the cutest thing ever!
And I think your new blog looks phenomenal and I absolutely love the new design. Be true to yourself and it will all work out – and wine always helps too! 😉

  4. I wrote comments about the new layout because I thought you wanted feedback and to know what different people liked/disliked etc.

I have always been a fan of your blog and I am saddened to hear others say the comments were harsh.May of the comments were heartfelt and we did mention how we adore you.

I hope you took our comments as most of them were meant- faithful readers that were simply expressing their reaction to some of the changes.
I think you are a strong, inspiring and creative woman .I admire you.
My comments on the layout were just on the layout, and nothing to do with how we all adore you.

And of course I think you can choose what feedback you agree with and what you don’t.It is your blog and I for one think it is a huge compliment that hundreds of readers had an opinion on it all-they are passionate about you and your blog and really wanted to express their thoughts.
You rock Tina ! A shame some people want to diss so many people who took the time to write in comments-may of who are BIG FANS of yours!
i love reading about you,Mal and Murphy. Apologies if in any way our comments bummed you out!!

  5. Oh, gosh, that first photo of Murphy really does epitomize cabin fever. His crazy eyes! Too bad he didn’t get tacos for dinner too 😉

  6. Love the new look of CNC. Even the comments font is snazzy and fun to look at.
Your hubby is so sweet to have brought the flowers, card and tacos to boot. My guy cheered me up with a backrub and my favorite ice cream this weekend. I just love when they surprise us gals with such thoughtful actions!

  7. I agree with Maren’s comment–it’s your blog and ultimately your choice how it looks and what you write about. I am thinking about starting my own blog and I have to go into it realizing that I can’t take comments from others personally (which I tend to do in my own job and then it gets me down). I like the new design and all that matters is you are a great writer, inspirational and you leave a positive impact on others every day.

  8. Mal is so sweet! An ideal model for all husbands 🙂

Tina–I hope you aren’t feeling down about your new blog layout. People can be harsh critics, but they WILL get used to it. Everyone has an opinion, but what matters most is whether you like the new layout and whether it works for you!

Hope the sun comes out tomorrow!

  9. I love the new layout! I was honestly wondering how you could improve upon the last one, but this is fab!

Also, it has been raining for days here too. It has put a damper on my hiking plans, my pool plans and my general mood. And the weather report says it will continue raining! Ew.

  10. I hope that you weren’t down because of all of the new layout comments. Readers can be resistant to change, but everyone who comments is invested in your work and likes you a lot or else they wouldn’t respond.

Do what you like and love, especially if the design reduces the bandwith and memory usage on your site. I really like how the photos “float” into view now. I haven’t seen that on other sites. The page loads much faster. I always notice that on blogs.

  11. I don’t have a husband but I’d love someone like yours!
    Btw, Felicitaciones on the house!

And I totally agree with everyone about how cute Murphy looks on the top of the page 😉

  12. Tina – I love the new layout. I actually really like that you have to click to read the entire blog because it allows for more blogs to be on one page. I can’t understand why people are having problems. Keep it up, I think you’re doing great!!!

  13. Hey Tina! I’ve been lurking for a while now and just wanted to let you know that I love your blog and I really like the new layout (Murphy cartoon is my fav!). I also really like the fact that I HAVE to click on the newest blog to read it and that there is more than one blog on a page (that actually really annoyed me before but loved you anyway!). Keep up the good work!

  14. looks like a fun night – okay, i don’t know if this is intentional to the new site, but when i scroll down it looks like the picture which is coming into view is flashing and just arriving on the screen. Ummm… i love it. Is it supposed to be like that?

  15. Aw, what a good hubby, he’s a keeper!! I completely agree with you about the rain, bad enough I can’t get out for a little exercise but the dogs are going crazy!! lol Hope today is a better day for you! 🙂

  16. Don’t let the haters get to you – it’s YOUR blog and you should do what YOU want with it!! People just don’t like change, but they’ll get used to it soon enough!

It’s great that you live with two sweet guys who are there to cheer you up 😀

  17. Sounds like you had a great night. I hope when I’m older I can have a relationship with my husband like you and mal have.

Taco Tuesday seems like a great idea!

  18. I like to give constructive critisism.Am I a hater as #80 describes people?
Nope! Love Tina’s blog over the years and have no doubt I will continue to follow.Just a bunch of emailing our two cents(and I never would assume Tina should adjust things according to public opinions!Just wanted to mention a few things that she may or may not wish to look at,that’s all).

I honestly believe that 90% of the people who commented and made suggestions are genuine fans like myself. How could we be “haters” when we love ‘er? 😉 Cheers!

  19. I think your new layout is great. Good for you!

And I love love LOVE “Bethenny Getting Married”…she is so stinkin’ hilarious! She was always my favorite on “Real Housewives of NYC”.

  20. I’ve been reading your blog for a while, and haven’t commented until now. I really like the new layout, your Pug is a TRUE star, and your husband picks GREAT cards!!!

  21. is that a dashwood pinot noir? i LOVE their wine! any sauvignon blanc of pinot noir from new zealand is EPICALLY good!

i love your pug! those big eyes are just so cute! and your husband’s a sweetie for bringing you home some goodies.

  22. I love “Bethenny Getting Married” – so fun to get lost in those shows!

Your husband is so sweet. Congrats on the house too, I hope everything works out. I know how stressful the process can be.

Also, I like the new blog look!

  23. Don’t be sad. I really like the new website design – it’s much more professional. And as general encouragement, I really love your blog. =)
