I’m such a sap when it comes to marathon stuff. I get teary-eyed at the Boston Marathon every single year, I almost cried (tears of happiness) when I finished 18 miles last weekend, and I can barely read my favorite running quotes without getting a little choked-up thinking about my own upcoming marathon.
So, I guess I really wasn’t surprised when I fought back tears watching the Spirit of the Marathon with my TNT team this evening. I felt like such a dork, but this marathon stuff is really emotional for me. I just want it so badly!
The Spirit of the Marathon is a documentary film that chronicles the journey of six marathon runners while they train and compete in the 2005 Chicago Marathon. Our team watched it together to psyched ourselves up for next weekend’s 20-miler.
After watching the film, I definitely feel good about running 20 miles. Let’s just hope my foot heals ASAP! šÆ
Before the film started, we snacked on appetizers and pizza.
I went with two pieces the Buffalo Chicken variety.
My favorite!
As a sweet treat, I brought a big batch of Salted Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. I’ve eaten at least a dozen of them all by myself today!
I also had the pleasure of meeting an adorable (and stylish) French bulldog this evening.
Our hosts, Elizabeth and Nick, brought Clark to hang out during the movie. Of course, I was obsessed with him. Don’t you think Murph and Clark would be best buds!?
Enjoy the evening, guys!
