Work is a little nutty today, so I’m speeding through my lunchtime post. I’m sure you guys understand how it is!? š
Today’s lunch: homemade salad + a mini bean burrito from Boloco + jelly beans.
I covered most of the nutritional bases, right? š
I have an evening workout planned, so I also packed a Pro Bar to hold me over until dinner. I’ll probably eat it as my afternoon snack since Pro Bars have close to 400 calories in them and should certainly do the trick.
Looking for Some New Workout Music?
Check out this coolness from Sonic Tap: Carrots ‘N’ Cake playlists Most of my playlists include 80’s music! š
Sonic Tap has some really sweet playlists– some of which are actually cheaper than iTunes! Sonic Tap is fully integrated into iTunes, so you can just import their playlists right into your iTunes library.

Depending on what I am doing – 90’s, country or Enya-esque
Mostly the new pop stuff that is more up beat and I can sing along to.
your lunch sounds super good! Sonic tap sounds interesting!! its nice it integrates with itunes as well.
when working out i love to listen to anything upbeat – rap, rock, old or new.
lunch looks good. i love bean burritos. now i wish i had one with my salad.
Love your playlists – we have similar musical tastes! I totally love 70s/80s music for working out. I love that you have Africa on there, as that’s one of my faves! My other all time fave oldies workout tune is More than a Feeling by Boston…it makes me smile every time it comes on.
I love just about anything. When i’m running its got to be something with a great beat and fast paced! Sometimes i find myself dancing or snapping my fingers along with the song! i get crazy. hahaha
I love all sorts of music! I grew up loving “grunge” like Pearl Jam and Smashing Pumpkins, but I also have lots of female artists like Tori Amos and Susan Tedeschi in my collection, and fun stuff like Katy Perry to dance around to, plus some country music, some folk stuff…not much rap, though!
Trance/Dance for working out:)
Mmmmm jelly beans. nom nom
Where did you get those Groupon jelly beans? I’ve found some great deals with them, but free jelly beans would definitely be at the top of my list!
Yum! I love Boloco. I’ve recently discovered their online ordering and it rocks! Last night I had their Thai wrap in a bowl (without the wrap) with tofu and it was delicious. I had the leftovers for todays lunch. š Mmm…leftovers…
I think my favorite genre of music would have to be pop rock. I’m a huge fan of The Police and Fleetwood Mac – great karaoke bands. š
Have a great afternoon!
love the jelly bean addition to lunch. very balanced š you have to have sweet with savory.
I love ProBars…good choice!
I love anything but rap but I really like listening to audiobooks while on the treadmill.
P.S. I covet your keyboard!
I was just thinking about this on my run last night. Really lots of different types get me going. Anything from Beastie Boys to Britney Spears to Guns N Roses or 80’s stuff. I’m all over the place!
That mini burrito sounds good! My favorite music genre is Country…pretty strange for a Boston girl I guess.
My favorite genre is indie, alternative, and rock, but I can NOT get enough dance and rap for my work out playlists! They just keep me going like nothing else! (And I’m totally not the dance/rap type)
Bean burritos are great — so many different variations on them, too. Enjoy your day (and ProBar)!
I have the same Sigg in Blue. It’s sitting on my desk next to my laptop as I type.
I like to listen to all types. It depends on the workout and the mood. I really like 80’s and early 90’s but I like some of the new pop too like Katy Perry. I also love Christian Contemporary and anything in between. I try to keep it mixed up so I don’t get bored. People are usually pretty shocked to look at my iPod. I may have to check out your playlists before I add new music.
Love love country and 70s and 80s rock. Bruce Springsteen songs are the best for long runs!
Oooh…I love jelly beans. Those look delish! My workout mix right now includes Passion Pit, Crystal Castles, Vampire Weekend, Lily Allen, Robyn, Ladytron and some others that I can’t remember off the top of my head. I change it up frequently so I don’t get bored of listening to the same things when I run. Have a great workout!
@Melissa@melissanibbles: Everything you just listed is on my playlist! Good taste :).
I like techno, indie, electronic, house/dance music for the most part. MGMT, Lady Gaga, DJ Trife, Bob Sinclair, Black Eyed Peas (I LOVE their new album)!
Are Probars worth all those calories? Seems like a lot for a snack for me.
Hmm, never heard of a MINI burrito. Sounds perfect! The normal ones are pretty big for lunch (especially when you add other “sides” as I usually do). And really, can one ever NOT finish a burrito?
I’m definitely a rock ‘n roll girl but I do love me some pop and dance music for those workout tunes š
Hi Tina. I’m new to the blog world…figured this is as good a time as any to comment (since I have been following along for so long as it is!). I love Boloco, but didn’t know they did mini burritos. I just moved back to Boston from Hanover, NH where I was lucky enough to still have a local Boloco….but I don’t think they did minis there. Good find!
I really like listening to most any kind of music (although I’m not a big fan of the screaming, head-banging stuff), but I love pop. It just puts me in a good mood! š My iPod has really been loving Britney Spears when on shuffle lately!
I really like country, which I’m surprised is rather popular up here in Boston
Love your playlists! You have good taste. I listen to everything EXCEPT country! Sorry country fans.
I understand. I’m having a hectic day at work too! I agree I think you covered all the bases haha š My favorite music genre to work out to is rap/hip hop. Favorite music in general is a mix of everything, hehe.
Tina – have you tried PopChips??
I love your thermos! It’s so cute.
when I’m working out I like to listen to hip hop because it just gets me dancing! But, I love all types of music. Just put stevie wonder station on pandora and it’s totally my new favorite. There are so many great classics!
-kristen
thanks for the sonic link!
I desperately need new tunes for running!!!
Hey I have that same Water bottle š
The burrito looks droolworthy, even just inside the foil- it’s all packed out- yum!
Deb
i love fat jelly beans!!!
All time favorite music is Reggae but I like a wide variety of music.
I like all sorts of music, but when I’m working out, I love anything that has a strong, steady beat, from hip hop, to techno/dance, to rock. I like Black Eyed Peas, Prodigy, MGMT, Offspring, Lady Gaga, MIA, Santogold, etc. Oh and I always end up liking Metallica, too! haha
I don’t typically listen to music while I’m doing yoga, but on the occasions where I do feel like it, I listen to Massive Attack. Love them!
As I recall in previous blogs, you have visited Portland, Maine. There is a club in Portland called Bubba’s Sulky Lounge that plays 80’s music on Friday nites and is an absolute blast. You should look it up next time you are in the area – I promise you will love. Join in the fun and dress in 80’s fashion. You can wear your ‘thong’ exercise outfit…yep I’ve seen it there!
