Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Good morning! Happy Thursday!

I need to speed through this post because I have a photographer coming to my house for a 3-hour photo shoot for Where Woman Cook. I haven’t showered, taken Murphy out, or cleaned my house yet, so I have lots to do this morning!

For breakfast, I ate two TF’s waffles with almond butter spread on top and an nectarine on the side. I also drank an iced coffee with soy milk. I definitely need the caffeine this morning! Go-go-go!

Three Questions Thursday

Here’s the next installment of Three Questions Thursday! Thanks for all of your great questions!

I was wondering if you could address the issue of eating healthy when eating out. I, as I’m sure many people do, have a lot of trouble balancing my healthy eating habits with my social life. I really don’t want to eat food that’s not good for my body but I also really don’t want to miss out on hanging out with people. Do you have any suggestions for this?

Here are a few helpful posts:

Have you recently lost a lot of weight Tina? Is this due to running so much?

Yes and no. Since January when I ran the marathon, I’ve lost 8 or 9 pounds (I gained close to 10 during training), so I’m pretty much back to my Feel Great Weight. (I’m not trying to lose anymore.) Recently, however, I haven’t lost any weight, and I’ve actually been running less in the last few months. Check out my fun DailyMile chart below!

How do you run with a camera?

I don’t run with a camera. I run with my iPhone to listen to music, so I also use the camera app to snap photos.

Question of the Day

Finish this sentence:

My favorite moment of the day is…

P.S. A friend of mine is running this Green Mountain Relay in Vermont this weekend, and one of her teammates dropped out. If you’re local and want to join, send me an email for details.

  1. My favorite moment of the day is when my husband comes to the room at 7:45 am and wakes me up with a hug and kiss on the cheek. I need a little TLC before getting myself to the bathroom.

I can’t wait to see the photo shoot, so exciting!

  2. My favorite moment is when my little pug Lucy wakes up and her tail is wagging like crazy! It’s like she is saying I missed you while I was sleeping! Such love!

  3. Favorite moment of the day is taking my first sip of a freshly brewed pot of Trader Joe’s coffee. Also, all meal times are favorite times of the day.

  4. A photoshoot?? That sounds like so much fun!

My favorite moment of the day is taking a shower & eating a meal after a good workout. There’s nothing like a feeling of accomplishment. 🙂

  5. My favorite moment of the day is when my boyfriend snuggles close, gives me a kiss, and says “Good morning, beautiful”. What better start to the day could I ask for?!

  6. My moment of of the day is when I’m able to wake up and head out for a nice run. I really enjoy the alone time with my thoughts.

  8. My favorite part of the day is waking up to ideal running conditions, getting out there, and returning for a great breakfast and iced coffee!

  9. Good question – my fave time of the day is usually when I’m finishing a workout, run or yoga class – nothing beats that sense of accomplishment, and the endorphin high that comes from the physical exertion 🙂

  10. I love early morning’s around my apartment. As much as I don’t like getting up early, the silence and calm throughout Harvard Square is so enjoyable. Especially in the fall.

  11. My favorite moment of the day is in the morning, when I’m at the gym or running – I cannot face my office without having that quiet time to wake up! Or breakfast time if it’s the weekend and I have time to eat a slow, luxurious-feeling meal.

  12. You do look extra skinny lately! Maybe it’s all the muscle you put on when you were training, and now that the extra lbs are gone you look super cut!

Favorite moment of ANY day is when a student of mine ‘gets’ something on their own and tells me about their miraculous ‘ah-ha!’ moment. I live for that!
