Hi, friends! Happy, happy, happy Friday to you!
You guys said you enjoy reading day-in-the-life posts, so here’s what has been happening around here lately!
We had our fireplace cleaned. Ok, it’s not super exciting, but, hey, check it off the Baby To Do List, right?Ā I’m just glad we’re making progressāājust over 7 weeks to go!
Elizabeth and Baby Grace came for a visit and brought Hippity some presents.Ā It was so nice to catch up with Elizabeth (there was lots of baby and pregnancy talk) and see how big Grace has gotten in the past couple of months. She’s a cutie for sure (and perhaps Baby H’s future girlfriend)!Ā (Rumor has it that theĀ Nuroo SwaddlerĀ is the greatest thing ever since it’s so easy to use and grows with your baby. I’m so glad we have one now!)
I made a Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free Banana Bread Pudding, which turned out so well. I have definitely looked forward to breakfast the past couple of mornings! The recipe will be on Health next week.
Murphy thinks paper bags are scary. On our walk the other day, he angrily barked at this bag for a good few minutes… like a psycho. I eventually led him over to it, so he could examine/smell it. He felt better after that.
Mal and I ate this awesome dinner the other night. It was 365 frozen gnocchi from Whole Foods, sliced Italian sausage, and sautĆĀ©ed kale with freshly grated Pecorino Romano on top. It tasted amazing and came together in about 10 minutes. Love that.
Mal and I went to IKEA the other night to buy a dresser and wall library for the nursery. We ended up going with the smaller version of the dresser that we originally wanted. Once we put the crib together in the nursery, we realized we didn’t have as much room as we thought we did, so this one will fit better.
The wall library is actually made up of photo ledges, not shelves. Mal and I had a little trouble finding them because we kept looking in the shelf section, not the picture frame section. Just an FYI!
Our visit concluded with froyo, which, of course, is the best way to end a trip to IKEA!
Murphy doesn’t do laundry. He had zero interest in helping me fold it the other day.
But Murphy does do the park and had a blast running around yesterday afternoon. I think spring is really, truly here!
I ate sweet potato wedges, green beans, and a big bowl of froyo for dinner last night. Random-ish, but not the worst meal ever, right?

Question of the Day
I posed this question to Mal last nightā¦
If someone offered to give you a free froyo machine for your house, so you could eat froyo whenever you wanted, would you take it?
Mal said no. I said yes.
P.S. Be sure to enter my giveaway to win a copy of The Oh She Glows Cookbook!

I am obsessed with fro-yo this pregnancy but I would have to say no to a machine in my house. I would weigh 500 pounds, I have no self control. Plus the toppings bar is my favorite part š
Also, Hippety is the cutest pre-baby name I have ever heard. I am due the day before you and have been calling her “Potato”. Not nearly as cute!
I am pretty sure I would take it, so I could share it with my friends and family š
Why would you ever say no to that????
That banana bread recipe you made looks and sounds awesome!
I don’t know if I would say yes to a froyo machine as then I’d want it all the time but maybe is get sick of it after a while. Or maybe not š
I’ve heard the Nuroo is amazing too! I’m anxious to see how you like it!
Hmmm that’s a hard question. I LOVE froyo, but I think I would have to pass on the machine. I know myself too well and I’d just eat so much froyo I’d be sick!
LOVE froyo! It’s been so long since i’ve had it too! My dad made some homemade paleo chocolate coconut ice-cream for my birthday and if I could have that in a froyo machine in my house, I’d be happy. š
I am not a huge ice cream/ fro-you fan so I would say no. Looks like you have been busy the past few days! We have that same dresser in our bedroom from Ikea and love it!
One of my friends from college lived in a sorority house with a fro-yo machine. I did pretty well moderating my usage then, so I think I’d have the self-control to have one in the house. My husband, however, that’s another story… š
Are you kidding?! Of course I’d say yes! That’s a no brainer! š
Sadly, I’d have to say no, because there is nowhere to put it in my little tiny San Francisco apartment.
I’d definitely say yes! And hope that it came with a full topping bar š
The banana bread recipe looks DELICIOUS! I would for sure say yes! Gotta love the froyo!
So jealous you have an IKEA! Arkansas doesn’t have a single one!! Closest one is Dallas, TX!
Some of the frozen food at IKEA is surprisingly good. I’m with you! I would totally take a free froyo machine. How can that even be a question?
God I love ikea, even though most of the furniture (at least in my experience) falls apart pretty easily. Whatever, it works!
Yes. The answer would always be yes to a fro yo machine. Yes yes yes! š
(Esp seen as we can’t get fro yo in Scotland!)
Fun day! I can’t wait to see the nursery. š I wouldn’t take it, because I would totally eat it every single day and my body would blow up. Haha! TGIF š
I love Ikea so much and I really like that dresser! My vizsla barks at everything, but especially the garbage men. Like seriously.
I would say no to the froyo machine. If it was my favorite flavor of ice ceam…then heck yes.
Haha, I would say no because I have such little self-control when it comes to having ice cream in the house. I’m better with other treats, but I know I need to get rid of ice cream so I don’t eat it any more and the way I get rid of the ice cream? Eating it. Though I have been better lately and will put it in the sink and run water over it (so I not attempted to do something gross like taking one more spoonfull out of the container in the garbage).
No thanks. Too much clean up and maintenance! How about a gift card to free froyo for life? I’d be down with that in a major way. Peanut butter froyo forever!
How could you say no to that!??! YES YES YES!!
I love fro-yo and I’d say I’m pretty good about having a reasonable portion (and I have it rarely so I don’t worry if I go a little over a normal serving). In my bio psych class the other the professor showed us that the typical fro-yo cup has 6 daily adult servings if you fill it up to the top! I don’t know if my self-control is good enough for a fro-yo machine at home, but maybe having one on tap would remind me that I could have it whenever I wanted and thus decrease the cravings? š Have a good weekend!
Free froyo? Living on an island, I say YES. We are always enjoying our heat, but wanting a way to find some relief;) I also love that 10 minute dinner! I am really into quick fixes here lately, and that one looked incredibly nourishing.
I honestly don’t think I’d choose to have a froyo machine in my house. Endless dark chocolate available though? Yes please.
In our dream house, we WILL have a fro yo machine. š I will serve it to everyone who comes over! hehe
Fun day you guys had–p.s. we have that dresser for our little one’s room (only in the darker color) and we love it! We got some little boxes from ikea to organize stuff within the drawers—but I love how deep the drawers are!
You’d get bored of it I reckon, it’s the novelty of going and buying froyo, picking your toppings, taking a photo of you tub š
Look at the banana bread pudding! Yum! And that fro-yo š
I would not want a fro yo machine. I love ice cream too much and if it was in the house constantly, I would definitely eat too much of it !
Haha I love that picture of Murphy with the laundry. My dog, Abby, is only interested in finding the underwear, other than that she likes to nap on the towels.
Your dinner froyo was healthy…it had some blueberries on it! š
If the froyo mix (?) was also provided with the machine for all eternity I would gladly accept it. Ok, that’s a lie I would buy the mix. I LOVE froyo.
I can’t even focus on fro yo when that bread pudding is staring at my face =O
Want. So desperately.
š
love the baby’s simple white dresser.
I love that Ikea dresser and used if for my first child (5 years ago) because it is the perfect height for a changing table, too. Just throw a changing table pad on top and voila. Space saver! It’s sturdy and holds lots of clothes, too. I am actually using it again for our baby boy who is due in a week and a half.
Stewie did the same thing the other day over a rouge trash can! His hair was standing up and everything! lol
Mal is nuts, I would absolutely take a froyo machine. But then I would need someone to give me a sweat pant factory to make me pants that would fit me.
Yes!!!!!!! No reservations from me! Bring on the froyo!!!!
I love the Hemnes line at IKEA, too! Your nursery is looking good! I like the white and grey theme.
It would probably be unsafe (meaning I’d eat fro yo for breakfast, lunch, and dinner) if I had one at my house, but my fiance’s work is thinking about getting one for their office! I think having one at work is a great idea! Then, when I want a treat I could drive 10 minutes from our house to his office (which is family-run and owned) to serve up a treat–for free! š
