Wow, today flew by! Holy cow! 😯
So, after breakfast, I felt totally anxious about the day ahead of me. I had the worst knot in my stomach and I knew that I just needed one day to catch up on everything hanging over my head. Luckily, my boss at NuVal is pretty cool, so I asked him if I could take a “personal day” and make up the rest of my hours later this week. Thankfully, he agreed, so I spent my morning and early afternoon working my butt off!
Snack
Mid-morning, I took a quick break to refill my iced coffee and munch on a Jazz apple.
Sweet and crunchy! 😀
When I work upstairs, Murphy usually hangs out with me, but this morning, he wandered off downstairs for a little while. When you can’t see or hear Murphy, you know he’s up to no good.
When I realized that I hadn’t seen my dog for awhile, I got up from my desk and saw a pair of socks in the middle of the living room floor.
Hmm? How did those get there? I decided to do some further investigation in the bedroom.
Busted!!!!!
The “Sock Monster” apparently got into my sock drawer. In addition to his peanut butter obsession, Murphy also loves socks– and he doesn’t discriminate between pairs. He loves them clean and dirty!
Lunch
I ate lunch at home this afternoon, which was a nice change of pace.
I heated up some leftover Lemony Shrimp with White Beans and Brown Rice from the other night.
Mmm! I love the lemony-flavored beans in this recipe!
On the side, I had a bunch of carrot and cucumber sticks.
Delicious lunch!
Workout
It’s only Day 1 of Lose the Dough and I’m already making changes to my workout schedule! I had originally planned to have a 60-minute cardio workout tomorrow, but since I took today off, I might as well take advantage of the extra time.
This afternoon, I did a 60-minute run-walk workout on the treadmill while listening to Motion Traxx’s Half-Marathon Mix, which was the perfect amount of time.

- 55:00 – 60:00: 4.2 mph
In 60 minutes, I covered 5.62 miles, which is much farther than I usually go on the treadmill, but I took it easy with plenty of walking thrown into the mix. And, the best part: my hip didn’t hurt! 😀
Snack
After my workout, I refueled with a 3-Minute Oatmeal Raisin Cookie made with Vega Smoothie Infusion (instead of flour). I drizzled a little agave nectar on top for some extra sweetness. Delish!

That workout looks great! I’m going to give it a try Thursday 😀
Murphy is cute as always!
Murphy is too cute!! You can’t help but love him. That picture is priceless.
All the apples that you post on your blog are soo shinny! And I know what you mean about not seeing or hearing your dog for a while — trouble!! 🙂
Our dog Leo is a big sock monster. He steals them while we fold them.
Good for you for adjusting your workout schedule to suit your day.
oh, murphy. i often wonder why my dog never went for my shoes/socks.
murphy is adorable, for reals. i have an english bulldog who ALWAYS goes for my socks when i come in the door. like a greeting present?? otherwise, she doesn’t really dig the socks. at any rate, love the murphy pix and love the blog. you are totally relate-able and motivational! thanks for putting yourself out there. xox.
Okay Tina, your minute oatmeal cookies are genius, just throwing that out there! 😀
I still have a few kinks to work out in mine, but I made one this weekend and mixed in some no pudge brownie mix and carob chips…man was it good?!!!! Chocolate chips would’ve worked perfectly too (or choc & butterscotch 😉 ) but i didn’t have any on hand. Anyway, these are becoming famous on the blogosphere!
I tried your workout this night and LOVED it! Thank you! I felt great after the workout!
