Brrrrrr! Our final TNT training run was cold and snowy. But, hey, at least it was memorable, right? Plus, it just makes me even more excited for the warm weather in Phoenix! š
When I woke up this morning, I wanted to crawl right back into bed. I was not a happy camper when I realized that it was snowing.
Breakfast
After taking the pug for his morning walk in the snow, I made my usual pre-run breakfast: peanut butter and banana on an English muffin with a small glass of iced coffee. It never lets me down!
A little while later, Mal and I drove to South Boston in the icky weather, which really made me not want to run.Ā
By the time we arrived at the store, it was full on snowing.
And just the thought of running outside made me cold! š
But, I put on my big girl panties and ran nearly 8 miles with my hubby. We kept a slow and steady pace because neither of us wanted to wipeout in the snow!
I still can’t believe it was our last training run. It’s crazy to think how far we’ve come since August!

After our run,Ā Mal and IĀ made a pit-stop at P.S. Gourmet for iced coffee.
It was snowing pretty hard by then, but it’s our post-run tradition! š
After getting our iced coffees (I went with Almond Joy), we tried to reenact the photo from our first training run, which was onlyĀ 3 miles.
It was a lot more difficult today!
Check out the color of my legs! I’m a ghost now!
It’s been quite the journey! I cannot wait to run this thing!
Off to do a bunch of errands!

Congrats Tina! š
I’m headed out in a couple of minutes. There’s a couple of inches of snow on the ground now.
I’m going to pull on my wool socks and be a big girl too!
Congrats on making it through!
Congrats on being done with your last run!! Crazy to think so much time has passed already- I remember that first run!
Such an inspiration!! I channeled your energy this morning on my run!
Great job running in the snow like that! I don’t know that I could do it. Have fun today!
You guys are so epic for running in the snow! marathon or bust!!!
Wow, that’s awesome for completing the run in the snow – great job!
You’re definitely a trooper for making it today! I’m going to use this post for motivation to get outside today and move!
Great job on sucking it up and running in the snow! I always want to crawl back in the bed when the weather is crap, but I always have my husband with me telling me to suck it up! I run in all types of weather and it is always hard getting started, but once you do, you realize, “well, I’m already out here. I might as well finish!”.
Great run! You’re going to rock the marathon with all of your training.
Jeez, they still make you guys run in the snow. Rough. š
Can’t wait to read about the marathon. You guys are ready, that’s for sure! š
I used to love running in the cold/snow when I lived in WI. I’m weird like that š
Good for you for getting out there in the snowy weather!
I cannot believe how quickly time goes by! Im soooo excited for your marathon! You make me want to run one š
Iced coffee after that run?? The thought of the snow didn’t give me a chill but that did LOL
While training for the Disney half last year I ran many runs in the snow – or iced covered ground. I was not a fan.
So exciting that you are done with your long runs – can’t wait to read about your race!
Good luck with the errands today.
Get yourself some full length tights, Tina!! š Running in capris in the snow can take a massive toll on the skin on your legs over time. Plus those photos just make me cold!! Nice job on your final run!
I would have been such a baby if I had to run in the snow. My last long run was 8 miles too and my mary is tomorrow! Good luck tapering! Enjoy it!
Ha! I love the leg color! That’s the one thing I’ve been noticing lately, i need a tan stat!!! Sheesh!
Woo you’re going to have such a sense of accomplishment soon. You should already be proud!
Well done!! Looking at that list of training runs is SO inspiring!! š
Congrats on your run in the snow! You were brave running outside in those conditions! I don’t know if I’d be able to do it. Almond Joy coffee? Yum!
Wow you have come so far. Good luck with the marathon and congrats for sticking it out.
Good Job, Tina and Mal! You guys have heart running in the snow like you did! I opted to run my 7 mile training run on the treadmill today…didn’t want a twisted ankle from the slushy snow that fell yesterday! Enjoy the marathon!
Last training run!!! woohoo! Im so proud of you and Mal! U guys are going to rock the marathon!!!!
Have a great day ! xo
I give you so much credit for running in that weather!! It is so cool to see how far you guys have come and I can’t wait for you to run the race!! š
I am such a wimp about running in the cold. The fact that you did it in the snow is so inspiring to me. Although, I would have gotten hot coffee!
Great run! I would have totally wanted to turn around and NOT run. But you did awesome!
I’m impressed that you still run in capris…I had to break out the thermal tights for my run in the snow this morning. Just looking at your pictures makes me feel cold again š
Wow! I can’t believe you ran in capris! Good job though!
I agree with Lee…iced coffee after an 8-mile run in the snow? At least you put safety first in terms of the pace. I got a 10-miler out of the way this morning because they’re predicting rain and snow for the next couple of days down here.
I can’t believe you ran 8 miles in the snow, great job!
I’m totally craving your almond joy coffee!
You are beyond dedicated! Every time I even think of wanting to complain about the “cold” weather in San Diego…I need to remember weather like this! Or like the kind i grew up in in MN. Stay warm! š
You are a total machine! I always look at the snow runners in my neighborhood with awe š I hope one day to count myself among you all!
Well done!
Wahoo! Congrats on the last training run!
Can’t wait to read about the race! You guys are gonna rock it!
i can’t believe you guys are almost there! i’m so proud…you’ve been talking about running a marathon since i started reading over a year and a half ago!
whoooo hoooo! the snow would DEFINITELY be enough to make me stay in bed…I would *never* have become a runner up North! Good for you for getting out there and rocking it!
wow you’ve made it so far with your training!!
can’t wait to see how the race goes š
Congrats on such a strong finish of your marathon training!
Glad you made it. Oh wow! Your photo of the drive really illustrates how badly you likely did NOT want to run this morning.
Woo an upcoming marathon is super exciting! Congrats on making it through the training!
ugh you are such a baller! why can’t I be more fierce and face running in the cold like you? I’ve retired my treads until 60/70 degrees comes back
Brrr!!!! it looks chilly!
I did a run this morning with my group in Annapolis, MD, and heard that there is a guy here who runs in a Speedo – year round! He was spotted out running this morning. It was snowing here also!
I definitely would have wimped out on a run in that weather! Congrats on making it through the training!
So I rarely post anything on the web, but I noticed how much you LOVE that butterscotch extract, so I thought I’d tell you about what I use to add that dessert flavor to my breakfast foods, (esp. plain greek yogurt). I absoluely love Sugar-Free coffee syrups, like Torani or DaVinci. Their the same stuff they offer to add at Starbucks, only you can get them in so many more decadent flavors, such as Cookie Dough, English Toffee, etc. If you google them, you’ll find the full lin up. (P.S. the sugar free syrups are calorie-free)
AH!! I can’t believe it’s next week!! I don’t think I’ve said this yet (and will say it again after the race I’m sure), but I am seriously SO, SO proud of you! You really have come so far with your training and done an amazing job. Marathon training is no joke and you have just kicked butt! I can’t wait to hear all about the race!!
And I’m glad you got to come run with me (well, way ahead of me, lol) in Iowa during your training, even if it was a short run. š
I can’t believe you still drink iced coffee after running in the snow! š
Isn’t it crazy to look back at how far you’ve come?! I always get super sad around that point in my training. I definitely get the post-marathon blues!
Thats so wonderful! Good luck with the marathon girl!
