Mastermind Weekend 1/16

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.


An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.


Just popping in to share some photos from the past few days to show you what we’ve been up to. Basically, it’s a little “slice of life.” (You can thank Mal for this post title. Ha!)

Quinn and I did a 3-mile stroller run together. I was so sweaty by the end. Running with a stroller is hard!

Back at CrossFit! Ooooh, how I missed it.

This workout hurt so good. I scaled down to #135 for the deadlifts and finished in 10:45. My quads were screaming for mercy, and I loved it so much. So, so, so much.

New jeans from Stitch Fix! Omg, I am totally and utterly obsessed with them.

A trip to the doctor’s office for… wait for it… nothing. I thought Quinn had an ear infection, but, thankfully, everything looked fine. The doctor said he probably has some molars coming in.

He ordered the filet mignon and lovvveeedddd it. I also tried a bite, and it was phenomenal.


Burton’s menu had all sorts of new and healthy dishes, so I had a little trouble deciding what I wanted for dinner, but I eventually went with the market special: scallops + risotto. It was incredible. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the risotto had so much flavor. Holy yum.

And, of course, we saved room for dessert: Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding with vanilla ice cream. Heavenly.


And now it’s time for bed.

  1. Those jeans looks awesome. I need to get new ones bc all the ones I have are getting too tight. Not in a bad way, but in a I’m doing a lot of strength work and I’m getting too much muscle! I guess there are worse things…

  2. Love this! How do you eat/save room for dessert when eating out? I always try to eat half of dinner but with apps and drinks it’s hard!! Haha I need to talk my husband into no app and dessert instead! 🙂

  3. We had a My Gym here for a while. I LOVED how enthusiastic and involved the staff were when doing stuff with the babies 🙂

  6. I typically hate both light colored and distressed jeans, but those jeans are SO adorable! I love them!

    I’m so glad it wasn’t an ear infection. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve brought Harlow to the doctor hoping I’m wrong, but it is ALWAYS an ear infection. ugh.

    I have a question about the WOD actually. I just started CrossFit this week, and am still learning the terms. We did a 21-15-9, and it had 3 different moves (box jumps, kettlebell swings, and dead lifts). I’m confused about how to interpret the workout you posted – 21 wallballs, 15 deadlifts, 9….?, 400m run. Reading your blog has definitely helped me in the intro classes so far – thank you for the inspiration and guidance!

    1. The workout was 21 wallballs, 21 deadlifts, 400 meter run, 15 wallballs, 15 deadlifts, 400 meter run, 9 wallballs, 9 deadlifts, 400 meter run. I hope you’re enjoying CrossFit!!! It’s the best!

  8. Yum! Scallops are my favorite! Was this the Burton’s in Hingham. I’ve not yet been, but I’m sure I would love it!
