As a Stonyfield blogger ambassador, I was compensated for writing this post as part of my partnership with the brand. The thoughts and opinions expressed are honest and all my own.

I had a special delivery for a special friend yesterday!

This month’s blog post theme is all about sharing the Stonyfield love, so I put together a fun goodie bag for my friend Kerrie. Inside was Stonyfield Salted Caramel Organic Greek Yogurt and some note cards with a cute dog that looked a lot like hers.

SAMSUNG CSC

Kerrie loves salted caramel-flavored things, including Marylou’s iced coffee and another brand of yogurt that she regularly eats. I told her all about the Stonyfield Salted Caramel Greek Yogurt since I’m a blogger ambassador and all, but, unfortunately, neither of us could find it at our local grocery store, so I knew she would really like this gift. (Local readers: You can find the Salted Caramel flavor at Hannaford and Market Basket.)

FYI: Stonyfield has an amazing store locator on their website. It’s actually more like a ‘product locator’ because you can select the exact Stonyfield product you want to find. Craving Minty Chocolate Chip Frozen Yogurt? No problem. Want to try the new OP (Organic Protein) smoothie or Frozen Yogurt Pearls? You got it. The Stonyfield store locator will point you in the right direction!

All packed up and ready to go! (Please note my gym/diaper bag. It doubles as both, and I frickin’ love it.)

And off to KFIT I went to deliver my Stonyfield goodie bag!

Kerrie opened her gift and was so excited! Hooray for Salted Caramel Greek Yogurt! I’m so glad I was able to share my love for this flavor with her. I have a feeling she’s going to be as addicted to it as I am!

After that, I hopped on the treadmill for my first running workout of the week: 15/8 Yassos/15. Translation: 15-minute warm-up, followed by 8 Yassos and then a 15-minute cool-down. Never heard of a Yasso? Read on!

Yasso are the bomb. They’re a genius training invention created by Bart Yasso. (Remember when I met him?!) Yassos are basically speed work + endurance training, which are the best of both worlds when it comes to running. The premise is that you can predict your marathon time based on how long it takes you to run 800 meters. In theory, you should be able to run the prescribed number of Yasso 800 meter runs in the min:sec time that you would expect to complete a marathon in hour:min time. For example, if you want to run a 4:15 marathon, you should do your Yassos in 4 minutes and 15 seconds. The key is to be able to hold that pace for ALL the Yassos prescribed. Here’s how to actually do Yasso 800s.

Anyway… I had 8 Yassos on the agenda for my workout. After traveling and being sick last week, I knew it was going to be tough. And even tougher because I didn’t bring any GU with me. #fail. I used a whiteboard to keep track of my Yassos and trucked along the best I could. I ran my first four Yassos at 4:00, the next two at 4:15, and the final two at 4:30. I definitely felt myself losing steam by the end. I even cut my cool-down short by 5 minutes because I was just totally spent. Yassos are hard! And awesome! I love running workouts like that.

I ended up running just over 9.5 miles, which, surprisingly, flew by, especially being on a treadmill and all.

Strreeetcchhh!
