Hello, hello!
School was canceled once again for Mal today, so our little family enjoyed another snow day together. Some things we’ve done in the past 48 hours: Lounged around the house (in pajamas, of course), played in the snow, cooked some delicious food and ate lots of snacks, cuddled, napped, and enjoyed being snowed in. Here are some scenes from our snow days!
Question of the Day
In your opinion, what’s the best part about snow days?

Oh my goodness! So much snow!! You guys look like you are having fun 🙂 My favorite thing about snow days is watching the snow fall 🙂 As a kid I loved playing in it, and I am sure I will enjoy it again as my kids get older, but for now watching it is my favorite! Quinn looked so cute in his little snow suit!
Looks like an amazing 48 hours to me!! And the baby snow suit kills me – can he get ANY cuter?!?!
The best part is a good combination of lounging around the house, cooking good foods AND playing in the snow. So yes, you covered it! Thought a close second would be taking off for the ski slopes, if the roads would allow it!
I love being able to binge watch something on Netflix without feeling guilty!
We had such a great snow day here in NH yesterday too! It was so nice to all get to be together when we would normally be at work/daycare – enjoying delicious food and drinks was excellent as well! “Moo, Baa, La La La” is such a cute book – one of my son’s faves! 🙂
When my children were young, we had a number of families in the neighborhood who would get together for a potluck brunch or dinner on snow days!
Looks like a great time! My favorite part is just staying inside and watching movies, reading, or baking things as long as I don’t have anywhere that I need to be. I hate when it has snowed but I still have to go out in it for some reason. Hope you guys keep having fun!
Aw, how FUN! I love those first two photos of Mal and Quinn. Adorable. So glad you guys are safe and enjoying the crazy snow days! I loved the occasional big snow day when we lived in Utah (occasional being the important word here!). It was so fun to have an excuse to stay indoors in comfy clothes, sip coffee and hot chocolate, watch movies, read books, and just enjoy one another. 🙂
I want a Snow Day! Looks so fun.
What fun!!! Oh man, I love these pictures! 🙂
Binge watching Netflix, and baking. And good LORD! That’s a lot of snow!
The second picture of Mal and Q, the look Q is giving him is so cute. Like, “This is MY dad. What a nut!”
When you are finished shoveling/playing in the snow, come inside, shower, and just RELAX!!!!!!
That first picture of Mal and Quinn is so adorable! I wish we got snow days, it doesn’t seem to matter the snow storm things keep right on going here.
Mal is so cute with Quinn! Twinsies.
Looks like a lot of fun! The best part for me is no pressure to do anything and an excuse to stay in PJs and lounge all day 🙂
So much snow!! My favorite things about snow days are making big breakfasts, drinking hot chocolate, and watching movies all day! Unfortunately, we don’t get any snow in Charlotte like we did in DC, but I love the 50 degree weather in January!
We’re due some snow here tomo!!! Nothing like you guys, more like 2 inches but Ireland comes to a standstill even with that!
I love thought of a lazy start to the day, and being able to dress all cozy with no judgment!
Cuddling under a blanket with coffee on the couch with my boys.
Oh wow-that is a lot of snow!! I would love to have a snow day–it’s so beautiful!
Best part of a snow day is SLEEPING IN!
These pictures are adorable – especially the mirror! My favorite part of snow days is unexpected time together and SLEDDING!
so much snow!!
Your day looks like a ton of fun. Cooking/baking is one of my favorite things to do on a snow day.
AHHH you have so much snow!!! The best part of snow days is being all cozy inside while it looks SO cold outside 😉
Looks like a wonderful snow day to me! I think being a kid during a snow day is the best. They get all the perks without the work haha. No shoveling or trying to drive to work etc, and all the fun of sledding, hot chocolate, staying home from school. Oh to be little again!
I know, right?!
Holy snow! How many inches (feet?!?!) is that?!?
I think it’s close to 3 feet!
that is SOOO much snow!
It’s winter, we expect snow and plan accordingly when it happens. Everything (including all schools) are business as usual. No snow days for us!
I love snow days! My favorite parts are cooking good food, snacking more than usual, and taking walks in the middle of the street when there’s a travel ban! It’s fun because I know it’s wrong lol!
The best part is trying to shovel out and being snow monsters in all our winter gear, then stumbling back inside to drink hot drinks and watch movies together!
you guys definitely took the hit for the rest of the northeast haha! we only got a few inches here in jersey– would’ve been nice to have even half of what you guys got 😉
best thing about snow days: roaring fire. comfort food. COUCH ALL DAY.
Wow that’s a ton of snow!
I would have no idea what the best part of snow days would be as “snow days” are an urban myth in Ottawa – my school board refuses to close the schools here – last time they actually closed was the great ice storm of 1996 when we had no power. They will cancel the bus service and that is it – then they demand that we get our butts to the school no matter how long it takes us to get there.
Weird comment: your snowblower looks amazing. 🙂 I am in the market for one. Does Mal like it?
Yesssss! He’s obsessed with it!!😄
I love your blog and all your posts! They make me instantly happy and motivated!

sleeping in and chillin with the fam. the simple things are the BEST things! they shut Houston down when it freezes lol so that would be considered a ‘snow day’ down here.
So much snow! I’m jealous. Western NY just missed all the snow 🙁
It was a fun snow day! We went out and explored the streets. They were empty of cars but full of people!
So cute! Looks like your having a blast! My favorite thing about snow days is: NO SCHOOL…because I am also a teacher! 🙂 Although, it’s never fun making up those days in June…I still pray for them every time we are expecting snow though…one would think I would learn my lesson!
WOW! So. Much. Snow! I grew up in southern California and now I live in Texas, so I’ve never had a snow day like that before! We randomly get ice days here in Texas, and honestly, staying home and baking is, I think, the best way to spend the day!
I love the quiet house of a snow day. You can’t go anywhere so the house becomes a nice cozy cave for the day. Your day looked fantastic. I love snow days too.
One of the best snow days I had was during my junior year of college. My best friends and I all lived in the same apartment building so we made fresh waffles, collectively combined assorted toppings for the waffles from our kitchens, watched “Baby Mama” and played Just Dance for several hours. Pure bliss 🙂
How adorable! I’ve never had a snow day but I’ve had heat days back in high school. Here where I live they have foggy days for the kiddos.
I go to college in the midwest so I don’t get snow days anymore 🙁 but I’m from DC, and in 2010 it snowed like 2 feet one time! I remember walking over to a busy intersection with my sister and laying down in the middle of the street it since it was completely deserted! So fun!
Babies in snowsuits are the best!
Your little guy is sooo adorable! Thank you for sharing!
Family time is the best!!! Close runners up are Hot Chocolate and Snow Cream!
I haven’t had a snow day since I was a kid, so back then, the best part of snow days was being able to watch day-time tv and build snow forts!
I love being snowed in (within reason, of course)!! Looks like you guys have had a cozy time at home!
I love Q’s hat, so cute!
What I love about snow days is sleeping in and being lazy all day.
