Yowsahs! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ I can’t believe it’s 4:00 already!ย Working at NuVal today totally flew by! But, I guess that’s what happens when you haven’t been into the office for a week and a half!


Around 11:00, I broke into my lunch and started with a Soy Joy bar and a mug of Tazo Honeybush tea.


The Soy Joy bar was just so-so, but the flavor of tea was AWESOME, especially with a squirt of agave nectar. (I keep a bottle of it at work.)


For lunch, I mixed apple-pear salad with Oikos Greek yogurt.


Delish! ๐Ÿ˜€



It turns out that the apple-pear salad was a tad on the mushy side at lunch, so I incorporated the rest of it into an afternoon snack. I mixed the fruit salad with Uncle Sam’s cereal and soy milk.




I also may have snacked on a spoonful of peanut butter straight from the jar… and it went undocumented. I’m sure you understand. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Lots to do this afternoon! Better get crackin’!



  1. I’m not a fan of the soyjoy bars…they used to give big samples of them away at my Target, and I LOVE me some free samples. But I stopped taking the soy joy samples, because I really didn’t like the taste very much at all ๐Ÿ™

    I’ll keep my eyes open for that tea though– that sounds good!

  2. I really don’t like soy joy bars. I’ve tried a couple different flavors and I just can’t get over the weird texture, dryness and shape. I know it’s silly but I feel like I’m eating a stick of dried out tofu…gross.

    Your salad looks delish though! I wish my day was going as quickly as yours is! : )

  3. It looks like you had a day like mine yesterday…I snacked my way through the entire day until dinner! I personally didn’t like very much, though :/

    I’m really excited about your apple-pear salad recipe because I just so happen to have apples and pears in the fridge (rarely do I get them at the same time). I think I’m going to whip together a batch tonight !

  4. I am going to have to go to Starbucks and find that tea. I’ve never tried a soyjoy, but I’ve probably read the ingredients on it and passed…probably because of sugar, or something else little like that. Right now I’m into Cliff Nectar Bars. They’re pretty good! I think that I could make them at home, if I tried ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. The good part about the blogging habit is that at least less goes undocumented than ordinarily would! Less stuff sneaks through! What do you think of those Soy Joy bars? I have grabbed a few here and there and have to say I am STILL completely undecided about them. I have nothing to compare it to.

  6. Mmm, I love yogurt bowls for lunch. I heard that Soy Joy bars were nasty though. ๐Ÿ˜• And oh, I completely understand about the PB spoon—I have those ALL the time ๐Ÿ˜‰

  7. I am picking up the ingredients for the pear apple salad on my way home from work (in about 5 min). I love Waldorf Salad but the lack of mayonnaise and the addition of cinnamon sounds grand.

  8. This day seriously did fly by! And I almost think I would really enjoy the mushy apple pear salad leftovers…kind of like cold pie filling?

  9. I’ve never heard a good review of a Soy Joy bar. Funny how popular they seem to be yet no one really likes them!

    Thanks for the reminder on the Honeybush tea. When I travelled home for Christmas I had a layover in Calgary and really wanted a Refresh tea, but the Starbucks was sold out. I was tired and cranky so the girls convinced me to try the Honeybush and I loved it!
