Rolling Down Thames Street

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Greetings from Newport, Rhode Island!

A little someone woke up bright and early this morning (I assume he was too excited to sleep!), so we were up and at ’em before the sunrise. Mal and I both wanted (needed?) coffee, so we got ourselves ready for the day. (Quinn thought the hairdryer was hilarious.)

The weather was a little chilly and quite windy, so we all bundled up. (Quinn’s super cool shark stroller is from Amazon.)

We rolled down Thames Street to Mokka, a nearby coffeehouse, like we’ve done in years past.

I ordered an iced coconut Americano, which was just okay. The espresso was a bit too weak for my liking, but I still drank it.

After our coffee adventure, we headed back to the condo and waited for Papi and Aunt Sib to wake up. Then, we all headed out for breakfast at our (old? new?) favorite place.

The Ocean Breeze Cafe is now Lorusso’s Cafe! Whoa. Mal’s family visited the Ocean Breeze Cafe for more than 25 years, so the change was quite the surprise.

Even still, we took our annual family photo outside!

Over the winter, the restaurant changed ownership and the inside was renovated– the end result was quite impressive. The interior is beautiful with a clean, modern, and upscale country feel.

The food was excellent too. I went with the Veggie Hash and pumpkin spice coffee. Mmm!

We’ll definitely miss the old Ocean Breeze Cafe, but we really liked the new Lorusso’s and we can’t wait to make new memories there!

More Newport adventures to come!

Question of the Day

How was your morning? What’d you eat for breakfast?

  1. Looks like such a fun trip so far! I love Newport, I remember the first time I went there I absolutely loved it and ever since, I’ve longed to visit again, so I’m looking forward to seeing all the photos you share!

  2. I had a peanut butter bagel, prior to my 10k. After the race I had a banana, piece of cake, some fruit. I made some coffee when I got home and it was terrible. I made some hot apple cider, it was soooo good. Love the stroller
    have a great day
