Recent Eats & Easy, Protein-Packed Snacks

Hi, friends! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a FABULOUS weekend! Mine was really nice. Mal and I had all sorts of visitors to our house on Friday and Saturday to meet baby Q.


It was so nice to see everyone and catch up and many of our friends came bearing (ridiculously adorable) gifts for baby Q!

These onesies?! The cutest thing ever, right?


And my friend Marie made this wall hanging herself. Beautiful, right? She is so crafty!


On Sunday, Mal and I took Q to a friend’s barbecue, which was one of our first out-of-the-house adventures since Q was born. We’ve visited the pediatrician, the park with Murphy, and taken a bunch of walks together, but other than that, we haven’t left the house very much.

So, traveling with a newborn? I can’t say Mal and I are totally comfortable with it yet (we must look like such rookies), but it’s getting easier each time. Leaving the house is definitely a whole new ballgame with our little man!

  1. My favorite protein snack is a hard boiled egg. It is so filling and gives me energy.

  3. LOVE that wall hanging especially the little dinosaur 🙂 It gets easier going out in some ways. We didn’t go anywhere for a while with people because our son was born in flu season. It gets harder for some babies. My son is 7 months and really won’t nap at parties. No nap = difficult time going down for bed. But every baby is so different!!!

  8. I love nuts for snacks and oddly canned tuna has been a favorite of mine as well! Mixed with some mustard and seasoning it is the perfect thing to help fill you up!

  9. They should host “outing with an infant” as a competitive game show. You win if you get there on time without forgetting anything and the baby falls asleep.

    My go-to snack is an apple with almond butter. I find a good fat holds hunger off for much longer than protein, especially when I fool myself into thinking one of those high-protein bars will do it for me. Nope! It just tastes like I want another bar.

  10. I would say Quest bars but since those can get expensive hard boiled eggs are also good! Especially on some pita chips! YUM

    You guys will get all the baby stuff down, it gets easier. I had some friends that were driving to see their parents with their 2 month old. After making MULTIPLE trips to the car loading it down with baby stuff, they climbed in the car with a sigh of relief, then realized they left the baby in the living room-haha!!!
