Do you really NEED protein powder?
⠀
No, you don’t, BUT it’s a super convenient option and a really great way to quickly and easily add a complete source of protein into your diet.⠀
⠀
There are a lot of protein powders out there. Almost too many to count! So, how do you know which one is right for you?⠀
⠀
Here’s my advice: Grab a high-quality whey protein, made with simple ingredients and not a paragraph long of chemicals and junk.
⠀
Some forms of protein, such as whey, are better than others. Whey protein contains an incredible range of essential amino acids, which are absorbed quickly and easily. Numerous studies show that it can help you increase strength, gain muscle, better recover from workouts, and even help you lose body fat! 💪🏻⠀
⠀
Vegetarian proteins like pea, soy, and hemp are okay too, but they’re not nearly as potent. Also, some vegetarian proteins have added chemicals and, depending on your unique hormone needs, some plant-based proteins like soy can actually do more harm than good. (Personally, I found them tough on my gut.)
⠀
My personal go-to protein powder is @SFH PURE Vanilla. It’s so delicious and mixes well with my morning iced coffee as well as into smoothies, oatmeal, protein balls, and more. ⠀
⠀
It’s a grass-fed whey protein with no GMOs, full of Omega-3’s, BCAAs, minimally processed, low in lactose (it doesn’t upset my GI track like some other whey protein powders), and has tons of amino acids too.⠀
⠀
If hitting your protein macro goal is a struggle, I definitely recommend adding in a good quality whey protein powder. It’s easy to mix into a post-workout smoothie or add to your coffee for an early morning protein boost.⠀
⠀
I use protein powder almost every day to help hit my protein goals. Do you use protein powder? What’s your favorite brand?⠀
