This morning, I snuck out of bed and cooked Mal a special pancake breakfast. Christmas is just a few days away, so I thought it would be fun to add a festive touch to the meal. Plus, I just like doing nice things for my hubby!
I whipped up a batch of my favorite pancakes and substituted the soy milk with eggnog, which was a very delicious decision.
I also served iced coffee with a splash of eggnog (we’re crazy for eggnog in this house!) and played some holiday music in the background.
It was a nice, little Sunday morning.
But, before Mal could even butter his pancakes, our meal was interrupted by fairly loud snorting and chewing noises coming from the guest bedroom.
It sounded like a typical pug interruption.
The Sock Monster strikes again!!
So busted.
We’re having a little housewarming party here today. Lots to do!

What a nice breakfast! I love the pics of Murphy and his love for socks. š How are you feeling the day after your 20 miler? Are you sore or feeling pretty good?
@Ali: Really good! My legs aren’t really sore at all.
Great idea with the eggnog!
Mmm…I need to get eggnog ASAP!
I’m amazed at your ability to capture your life via camera. Is it strapped to your hand?! š

Key to an awesome marriage!
Such a cute breakfast set-up!
My kitten is a little sock-monster too! Actually, he hoards our dirty socks! I will find them all under the bed or in corners. haha Why?!
How nice of you! I better not let Shane read the post, or you’ll give him ideas!! haha š
Those pancakes were genius! That’s so fun that you started your money off so festive-ly!
I am definitely putting eggnog in my coffee tomorrow! š
Oh my goodness, my golden retriever is a MAJOR sock monster! Every. single. time. we leave the house and come back home, she has to run to my mom’s sock basket and grab at least 5 of them and run around with them hanging out of her mouth. She is crazy! It makes for a pretty good laugh though. š
What a cutie! They are so adorable when they know they did something wrong š
Ah! Your pug is too cute and funny! Our Boston loves socks and toys. And he snorts too when he is playing with them. We usually mute the t.v. so we can hear it. It just cracks us up!
ooooh what a great idea to use the egg nog milk!
Hehe, that’s priceless! I love the look animals and kids get on their face when they get caught getting into trouble!
So cute. And egg nog in pancakes? What a kick ass idea!
I bought egg nog yesterday – haven’t cracked it open yet. Perhaps for dessert tonight.
Enjoy your holiday party!

Giggling at the pug interruption… we have frequent squeaks and grrrs in our house as well! š

I would really like some pancakes right now !
Jealous of your pancake Sunday….but only a little– they had free ice cream at the finish line of my Christmas 5K, so I feel it evens out. š
You’re such a good wifey. I’ve heard of dinner by candlelight but never breakfast!
Lol @ Murphy, I bet he waited until the second he knew you guys sat down to eat.
Aw, you’re such a wonderful wife! Doing special things like this out of the blue mean so much to people š
Well, Murphy saw Mom and Dad having a treat and wanted in!
What a lovely breakfast! Sounds yummy š
Your dog is too cute. I have had some similar interruptions by my adorable springer spaniel. My dog can be a bit mischievous.
Ha! Love that last photo…he’s like, what are you looking at? Cute!
I’m making these RIGHT NOW. They smell amazing — brilliant move with the eggnog.
