Murphy and I just returned from a lovely walk around the neighborhood in the rain.

Usually, I need to draggg Murphy outside into the rain for our walks, but he was fairly willing this afternoon. I guess he really needed to potty?

When we got home, Murphy dried himself off on the carpet”¦ like a freak. It actually sort of looked like he was breakdancing.

What a nut. This dog makes me laugh everyday.

Lunch

Lunch was pretty random today, but still delicious. I mixed together Lime Leaf Noodle leftovers with cheesy mashed cauliflower.

To make the cheesy mashed cauliflower, I steamed 3-4 cups of cauliflower in the microwave, added two triangles of Laughing Cow Garlic & Herb Cheese, and then mashed it all together. Mmm… tasty.

After lunch, I made a protein shake with vanilla protein powder, soy milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, ground ginger, and ice. (To make: combine ingredients and shake.)

Then, I headed to NuVal for a couple of hours.

NuVal is hosting a Twitter party with Lowe’s Foods tomorrow night at 7:00 PM (EST) for consumers to learn more about the NuVal system. If you’re interested in participating, the hashtag is #LowesNuVal.

Workout

After spending a few hours at NuVal, I headed straight to the gym for a quick workout. The Ellen Show was on, so I grabbed a treadmill right in front of the TV with it on. I <3 Ellen.

I ran 5 miles in 43:17 (9:03 pace) and felt pretty good. My hip still feels weird, but not painful. I think the cadence stuff is helping”” well, at least it’s not making it worse. I based today’s running workout on a variation of this 45-minute Treadmill Workout.

Snack

When I got home from the gym, I was starving, so I downed half of a bag of Pretzel Crisps that the company sent me as part of a new partnership. I’m going to be contributing some posts to their blog in the coming months!

My stomach is growling like crazy! It’s definitely time for dinner!

  1. One of our pups, Mason, does the same break dance. I get the impression that he has an itch that he can’t get to, not having thumbs and all, but he definitely looks like he needs some old-school hip hop in the back beat…
