Good morning! š
Last night at dinner, either Brittany or Sarah mentioned that they add protein powder to their pancakes. What a great idea!
Ever since I started training for the New York City Marathon and read over my Marathon Fueling Q & A, I’ve been trying to get more protein in my diet. Protein Pancakes sound like the perfect way to do so!
Protein Pancakes
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup rolled oats
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powderĀ
- 1 ripe banana
- 1/3 cup liquid egg whites
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
Directions:
- In a bowl, mix together ingredients.
- Preheat a skillet (medium-low heat), spray with non-stick spray, and pour in half of the batter while shaping it into a pancake with a spoon.
- Heat until partially cooked and flip pancake.
- Once cooked through, top with syrup, nut butter, fresh fruit or anything else your heart desires.

I topped my Protein Pancakes with Biscoff Spread from my goodie bag at TECHmunch. Holy crap is this stuff amazing! It tastes just like Biscoff cookies! I also drank an iced coffee with soy milk with breakfast.

Vote for My Video
Remember when I went to Rialto to film Jody Adams as part of a Food Network promotion? Well, I submitted my video and now it’s part of a contest to win a trip to New York City, and I would love, love, love your support!
Three chefs are being featured on the Food Network using grapes from California to inspire their dishes. The California Grape Commission challenged me and two other food bloggers to videotape our own behind-the-scenes footage to create a vignette that shows the passion of each chef for their craft and quality of ingredients. You can watch all three videos on the Grapes from California Facebook page.
I really hope you consider voting for my video! It only takes a few seconds, and I would be ever so grateful and love you forever! Please feel free to share this around the web too!
Question of the Day
Do you think you get enough protein in your diet? Do you think about it when planning your meals? What are your favorite sources of protein?
P.S. I am in love with this pug photo!

Yum! I am totally adding protein powder to my pancakes! My fav source of protein when I’m training is Trader Joes Turkey Jerky! I crave the salt and so it’s a win-win!
Yum! I haven’t tried protein in my pancakes but its been blowing up the blog world. Must try asap!
I like to add protein powder to almond or sunflower seed butter. I put the whole jar of whichever nut butter I choose in a large mixing bowl and add a few scoops of protein powder. You have to mix if really well, but it is worth it. It is an excellent way to add more protein to your favorite nut butter.
What type of protein powder do you use? It doesn’t show it on your link anymore?! Thanks:)

I know I get more than enough protein in my diet. I am a vegetarian and I want to make sure that I get my minimal nine servings of fruits and vegetables as well as a lot of low-fat or fat free sources of protein in my diet (and carbs because life without them would be just sad). That being said, I am rather thin, so I sought an expect dietician’s help. I how got between 90-120 grams of protein a day! Definitely more than enough š
Yummm these look so delicious!! The protein powder is a great addition.
I’ve been making these protein pancakes for a couple of weeks. I am addicted! I love to sub in pumpkin for the banana from time to time. Great recipe!!
Love this recipe…super simple and muy delicioso! Thanks for sharing!
Protein pancakes are my life!!!!! YUM! They get me so excited to wake up in the morning! LOL
I added in some roasted flax seed with chia, and they were A-maz-ing!
thanks for the recipe! love your blog, thanks for all you post! š
Just made these protein pancakes and they were delicous! Sadly I didn’t have any eggs, but I just added a splash of milk to my batter and they came out perfect!
So I have a confession… I loathe protein shakes. Tried all brands anyways I must say now I can buy protein powder and make PANCAKES. Well I actually think I am going to buy a waffle maker because my pancake flipping skills are terrible! Thank you for taking the time to have a blog and provide HEALTHY creative solutions for the palette that likes excitement (aka protein shakes)….
