Feeling blah after the Thanksgiving holiday? Try this workout!

Cardio:

30-minute Treadmill Workout

Strength (3 sets):

  • 10 push-ups on Bosu
  • 15 crunches on stability ball
  • 20 spider walks on Bosu
  • 15 crunches on stability ball

I woke up feeling pretty blah myself this morning. Too much sugar + booze = sluggish, unmotivated Tina. Instead of just going through the motions with a so-so workout, I kicked my butt with this high-intensity session, and once I finished, I felt like a million bucks. The workout also gave me a ton of energy to start my day. You never regret a workout!

Breakfast

After my workout, I whipped up a cappuccino using my in-law’s fancy Bosch machine. It turned out great””just as good as one from Starbucks!

I also made a bowl of oatmeal with leftover apple crisp mixed in. I added a big scoop of peanut butter for some staying power.

Lunch

A few hours later, I met my mom for lunch at Crossroads Café. She had today off from work, so we met up to hangout.

I ordered a soup + salad combo: chili with melted cheddar and tortilla chips.

And a house salad with croutons and honey mustard.

Delish! I love combo meals. The variety of tastes and textures always satisfies me.

Tonight, I’m accompanying Mal to him 10-year high school reunion. O00h, boy! I hope it’s fun!

Did you attend your 5- or 10-year high school reunion? How was it?

I went to my 10-year high school reunion back in 2008, and it was actually a lot more fun than I expected!

  1. My class had a 5 year reunion this past May. I didn’t go, mostly because I didn’t want to, but it was also during law school finals. Haha I’m pretty sure no one went… We were a smallish class at a private school and people who are still friends already see each other anyways. I would consider going to the 10 year though, it would be interesting to see what people are up to. Although since we’ve had facebook since senior year, it’s easy to know already!

  2. I was feeling very blah this morning so I went for a long walk with my mom and sister. It was great although, I think I would of felt better if I did a intense workout that made me sweat a lot!

I went to my 5 year High School reunion and really enjoyed myself. My group of High School friends weren’t even there but it was still great to see my other classmates and catch up with them. I am interested to hear how it is going to your husbands High School reunion. Have fun!

  3. I love how you kicked it into gear first thing. I went on a long walk but still not feeling like it was enough. I’m thinking a high intensity interval workout has to happen to get some endorphines to overpower the turkey hangover 😉

  4. Ooh that does look like a tasty meal! I have only been out of high school for 5 years, but my school was in the Middle East and sadly I don’t think we had a reunion! Maybe in 10 years, but it will be a long and expensive journey in order for most to attend!

  5. I have my 10 year high school reunion next year. I’m not sure if I’ll go, since I pretty much only keep in touch with a few people. It would be neat to find out what everyone has been up to though!

I’m definitely feeling the post-Thanksgiving blahs. I signed up for an early morning spin class tomorrow to sweat it all out. 🙂

  6. I love that strength-training sequence – I may have to try it myself! My love and I are headed to the gym right now (well, soon…) way to be lazy on a Friday, right? Thanks (as always and every day!) for the inspiration!

  7. My 10 year should have been last year but no one organized one. I thought it was up to the class president or something but none of us could get her contact info 🙁

Do you know how they are organized? I may have to take it upon myself to plan a 15 year!

  8. Ugh… I’m going to my 10 year reunion tonight… and to my husband’s 10 year reunion tomorrow. A whole weekend of reunions, and I’m not sure how I feel about it. Right now? Like I better find a cute outfit, and still plan to bag out early. I’m terrible!

  9. Its my 10 year reunion next summer, I wasn’t going to go but think I will now. We had my husband’s last summer – it was fairly low key, just a camp out with about 50ish people (out of 400 in his class!).

  10. You made me smile … I just went to my 25th high school reunion … I guess I am not your target audience … 🙂 … I just have to tell you being the old and wise woman that I am … 🙂 it was amazing … the only thing I am sorry is that I did not go to the other ones that were organized prior.

It was organized into a 3 day affair:

    First day:

    1. Visit to the school … and yes, we still had teachers or staff from our era still at the school.
    2. Visit to the school the alumni, students and faculty fund. Organize our school donation.
    3. Dinner with classmates only. You know speak… “do you remember when so and so” and that way the spouses did not get annoyed … reminiscing …

    Second day

Trip to the country home of a friend … we used to have parties there … spouses were welcome … a little more reminiscing … but not too much being respectful of the spouses.

    Third day

Late lunch at a family friendly restaurant … spouses and children were welcome …

It was perfect … a perfect mixture of our time and time with all.

Enjoy it … it is worth it …

  11. nice workout! im gonna do a jillian michaels dvd today to get back on track. im supposed to help plan my 10 yr reunion which is this year..sounds kinda rough but it’ll be fun…have a good night!

  12. Sooo many people are having reunions this weekend!! I honestly have no desire to go to mine though, maybe 10 or 20 years but if there is a 5 year I do not care! I went to a small high school on Cape Cod and my graduating class is about 50 people! 40 of those people still live in our hometown so i see them around and i wasnt really friends with any of them in high school so i dont care!

  13. I went to my 5 year high school reunion in ’07 and then next year is my 10 year. 5 year was fun; I’m really looking forward to my 10 year!

I love combo lunches too! And chili sounds really good right about now.

  14. Good for you with the workout! I’ve had to take a week off from exercise because of a potential stress fracture in my foot, so working out after Thanksgiving did not happen for me–wish it could have, though…I wouldn’t have minded sweating off some of those sweet potatoes!

  15. As I type this comment I have Kendra and Hank on in the background (yes, I watch Kendra…) and they are talking about going to Hank’s 10 yr reunion. Ironic!

No, I have not gone to any of mine. Not worth the airfare and hotel costs to me 🙂 I’d rather go to the Caribbean! haha

  16. Thanks for posting the workout!! It motivated me to get off my bum…:) I missed both my 5 and 10 year reunions… But I am most definitely gonna make my 20. 🙂

  17. We didn’t even have a 5 year reunion and I didn’t go to my 10th last year. I had to work and the reunion wasn’t a very big deal anyhow. I already see the main few people I really care about and the person who’d been put in charge of our reunions right after high school is not around to do it (he’s in the Air Force in the south and was in Iraq at some point). So…I don’t know if I’ll ever go! 😉

  18. I didn’t go to my 5 year reunion, I lived out of town at the time and I figured not much has changed in five years. My 10 year is in a few years and I’m planning on heading to that.

  19. Amazing – I am actually at my husbands 10 yr hs reunion as I type this! Had to sit down for a moment and rest my feet so I decided to check your blog. Guess it’s the weekend for reunions 🙂

  20. The Spider walks I know as reptiles. I’ve never seen them anywhere before except where I learned them at bodyrock.tv.. until your blog.. isn’t that weird how sometimes that happens.

  21. I went to my 10 year reunion and it was pretty fun. I’m still close with like 5 friends from high school so that definitely helped. And also that it was at a bar.

  22. I feel the same way this morning – sluggish with a capital LUGGISH. Usually when that happens I’ll crank up the intensity too and it (almost) always ends up being worth the effort. Huge exertion => huge energy/ endorphin rush.

  23. I had my 10 year reunion 3 years ago and it was fabulous! I spent the evening with my 2 best friends and one of them got engaged.I had recently delivered my 2 child and felt great. I felt that, at 28, i had hit my stride!
Also, I just finished my 1st 10k ever! I have always dreamed of being a runner, but felt it was too great a challenge for me. 5 months ago I couldn’t run to the end of my block and I finished a 10k with the 1st half of the pack! Thank you for inspiring me! I love this blog!

  24. my 10 year reunion is tonight! i am actually really excited because i still see a lot of my hs friends, so it’s more like a big party instead of a reunion. i know that there are so many people i’ve forgotten about though, so that should be interesting!

  25. Crossroads is one of my favorite restaurants. Went there for dinner last night! Thanks for the motivation to get back to the gym, I needed that,

  26. So true! You never regret a great workout! I feel sluggish after a night out or the day after a feast and a killer workout in the morning is usually the cure. : )
