Do you experience PMS cravings? Want to know the REAL reasons you experience them? Hormones are often to blame for PMS cravings and, sure, they play a role, BUT your lifestyle and diet ALSO influence them. A lot.
Rising progesterone in the luteal phase can definitely increase your hunger and cause you to experience more cravings before your period, aka PMS. (Low progesterone can also cause issues in the second half of your cycle!) If you don’t have your diet and lifestyle foundations dialed in, your cravings can be soooo much worse! So what do you do?

If you answered ‘yes,’ it’s time to get really honest with yourself. Are your PMS cravings totally out of control? Then, here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Are you managing stress well?
- Are you sleeping 8+ hours per night?
- Are you eating a balance of protein, carbs, fat, and fiber at every meal?
- Guilty of doing too much cardio?
- Any nutrient deficiencies from the Pill and/or pregnancy?
- Do you have hormonal imbalance?
