Good morning! How’s it going? I hope your day is off to a wonderful start!

It’s time for another Photo Dump, which means I’ll share all sorts of random photos from my iPhone. This week, there’s a special announcement, so be sure to read to the end!

Just running around the house with a dish towel on his head. Quinn is such a ham– just like his dad.

Working out with my favorite tiny partner. Quinn loves watching Mama (and Dada) work out. He also loves watching CrossFit on TV!

Pumping some iron. We were at a friends’ house and Quinn immediately went over to their dumbbell set. The 2-pound weights were the only ones he could pick up!

It was like a Hitchcock movie. A few of my friends joke with me about how creepy Southfield is for running. It’s on old military base (that’s slowly being revived), so I can see why they think that, but it’s also miles and miles of paved road, which is perfect for long runs. Anyway, I ran there the other day. It was a cool, cloudy, and quiet morning. I didn’t see any other runners or bikers, but I did see a crap-ton of birds in the sky. I just had to stop and snap a photo to send to my friends. It was creepy for sure! Haha!

The only way to wear sunglasses. Obviously. #coolkid

Blood Marys at the KFIT pool party. Oh, summer, you will be greatly missed.

Someone was looking for attention. My sister gave me a bunch of my nephew’s hand-me-downs, so Quinn and I went through them together. I forget why we stopped looking at them, but when we came back, Murphy had made himself comfortable.

High-five with Dada! These two are so adorable together. Mal is the best dad ever.

IMG_6479 (768x1024)The breakfast pizzas from Juli Bauer’s Paleo Cookbook. I sent a friend a photo of them for an idea for a future brunch together!

Poor Duck. Quinn threw Murphy’s beloved toy in the toilet. (I’m telling ya, he’s quick!) I took a photo to send to Mal since Duck was our first toilet casualty. We’ve had a lot of close calls, but he was the first thing to officially go into the toilet. Related: Duck was Murphy’s first toy. <– super cute pug puppy video!

Life is hard for Murphy. He went to bed before we did!

My sister is having a girl!!! That’s right. She’s pregnant with baby #2. I am so happy for her, and I’m psyched to have a niece!

The desserts from my sisters “gender reveal” party. They were epic. I basically tried all of them.

Early-morning balloon fun! My sister gave Quinn a balloon after their party and he had a blast playing with it the next morning. At like 6:30 AM, he was shrieking with delight and running around the house with it! (It was much too early for Murphy as you can tell from him face.)

Question of the Day

You have 5 desserts sitting in front of you: Chocolate cake, strawberry cheesecake, carrot cake, Oreo cake, and a chocolate chip cannoli. Which one do you pick?

  1. I love your photo dumps! They are always fun to read (just like your whole blog).
I’ve been a frequent reader for a bit more than a year. Fitness, food, family – what’s not to love? AND of course the Boston area! I lived in Newton for a while ♄
    Congratulations to your sis!

  2. Congrats to your sister and family! So exciting! And how great are hand me downs? I get them from my sister in-law and love it because he seems to outgrow things so fast sometimes!

I can’t pick…I just can’t. Having all 5 of those amazing desserts in front of me at once isn’t very fair. hahaha

    1. No, they were from somewhere north of the city, closer to where my sister lives. Have you tried the Konditor Meister pumpkin/maple cake? OMGGGGGG! So good!

      1. @Tina: I have not, what a great combo! We live in Marlborough so its a bit of a drive. However we will be driving home from the Cape next weekend so I’m hoping we can swing by and pick up some treats! I also have to find a Mary Lou’s on our drive TO the Cape!

  3. I’m a long time reader but don’t think I’ve commented before. The title “Photo Dump” sounds so unappealing and, honestly, lazy. I can handle the sponsored posts, although I know other readers who do not like them. I read the Day in the Life because I’m interested in how people use their time. However, I just cannot when you just “dump” pictures and call it content. I’m not expecting you to change your style but just wanted to let you know, as a reader who helps to support your blog, you’re losing me.

    1. I’m sorry to see you go, especially as a long-time reader. A lot of other readers enjoy these posts, so I’m planning to keep them. I’m sharing a lot from my life in these posts, so it’s not at all lazy in my opinion. Sorry you don’t like them. Maybe I’ll change the title. Thanks for the suggestion.

    2. @Sarah: I just want to say that these are some of my favorite posts. I really don’t care what they are called, the title doesn’t matter and the content is some of my favorite. I just wanted to show my support.

  4. Cannoli, omg, take the cake and leave the cannoli. My life has been in cannoli draught since I moved so far from my mom’s Italian family. Quinn is the friggin cutest, and I not-so-secretly hope we produce a ginger baby when we have kids.

  5. Oreo cake and a cannoli, because I just can’t choose.

Quinn is sooo consistently cute/hilarious/loveable! Congrats to your sister!!!!

  6. I would choose oreo cake! I’m not a huge dessert person (I know) and pastries aren’t my favorite so that would be my pick! I do have a small obsession with gummy candy, so if that’s offered I would choose that over any other dessert šŸ™‚

  7. Love seeing your little guy, my boys are all grown up 21,19 and 17. Oh the days when just a balloon made them smile, miss that.

  8. I’m a long-time reader of your blog and I love your Photo Dump posts and don’t consider it a “lazy post”. You could maybe change it to Camera Roll or something, but it doesn’t really matter to me. šŸ™‚

  9. Carrot cake. I love your photo dumps. My kids haven’t had a baby yet (7 years) so I enjoy all of the babies online just waiting to be a grandma.

  10. If those desserts were in front of me there would be no picking going on, just eating. I would share though. šŸ™‚

I love your photo dumps. Seeing your Quinn pics sometimes just makes my day.

  11. I commend Murphy on his ability to preserve toys!! We have an *almost* 12-year old chocolate lab, and her toys last all of…. days. Sometimes weeks, but that’s if she REALLY loves them.
As far as dessert, carrot cake all the way! It’s really considered a vegetable, right?

  12. I personally love a good healthy photo dump! Cheesecake would be my pick (I have never had cannoli). Congrats to your sister – I bet your sweet Mom enjoys having all these babies to love on.

  13. I love the photo dump posts! I’d probably choose chocolate cake, although I love cheesecake and cannoli, too! Congrats to your sister!!
